Because Blacks Can't Stop Smoking Menthol Cigarettes, the F.D.A. Plans to Ban Them

Black-Run America (BRA) in action. [F.D.A. Plans to Seek a Ban on Menthol Cigarettes,   New York Times, 11-9-19]:
In a landmark move bound to further shake the tobacco industry, the Food and Drug Administration plans to propose a ban on menthol cigarettes next week as part of its aggressive campaign against flavored e-cigarettes and some tobacco products, agency officials said.
The proposal would have to go through the F.D.A. regulatory maze, and it could be several years before such a restriction took effect, especially if the major tobacco companies contest the agency’s authority to do so. None of the major tobacco companies would comment on the possibility of barring menthol cigarettes at this early stage.
But such a move has been long-awaited by public health advocates, who have been especially concerned about the high percentage of African-Americans who become addicted to menthol cigarettes.
Dr. Scott Gottlieb, the agency’s commissioner, would not comment publicly on the proposal on Friday. But in a recent interview, he said the F.D.A. was revisiting the issue, one that had been weighed in previous administrations. “It was a mistake for the agency to back away on menthol,” he said earlier this fall.
The menthol proposal is just one of several initiatives the F.D.A. plansto announce sometime next week, including a ban on sales of most flavored e-cigarettes, except menthol and mint, at retail stores and gas stations across the country. The products, which include such flavors as chicken-and-waffles and mango, would be mainly relegated to sales online, at sites where the agency hopes to impose strict age verification to ensure that minors could not buy them.
The battle against menthol cigarettes has continued for decades.
According to the N.A.A.C.P.’s Youth Against Menthol campaign, about 85 percent of African-American smokers aged 12 and up smoke menthol cigarettes, compared with 29 percent of white smokers, which the organization calls a result of decades of culturally tailored tobacco company promotion.
Because blacks love cigarettes with menthol, they must be banned immediately, and a class-action lawsuit for racially insensitive marketing/advertising must be filed on behalf of all black smokers nationwide.

Disparate impact strikes at the heart of anything deemed implicit bias or structurally racist against blacks, a people who have no privilege and only an [increasingly] endless list of grievances in Black-Run America.

There was a time during my libertarian days when I would have been concerned about government overreach in regulating the marketing of a product and it’s effect on corporations. I try in vain to recall when corporations took time out of paying bribe money to both political parties, sponsoring left-wing causes and shoving offensive advertisements in our faces to actually do something for for US.

So fuck them!

The corporate weasels will probably bribe their way out of this by agreeing to fund NAACP initiatives for which they will get a tax deduction.

I never smoked but if negroes want to shotren thier lives by doing so, I certainly won’t stop them.

It would be fair to put arsenic or methyl mercury into menthol cigarettes.  If the smokers want to kill themselves off, hurry up the process.

Do Blacks smoke menthols because of advertising or do cigarette companies advertise menthols to Blacks because they are more likely to smoke them?

I remember when liberals debated this issue in SF. Well there really wasn't much debate actually. They seemed to believe by their actions that the best solution was to not give Blacks a choice. Why not ban the advertising if that is really the cause? Ban images of Black people in menthol ads.

I'm not a fan of tobacco but the patronizing attitude by liberals towards Blacks is really tiring. They blame Whites for inequality and Black problems while passing laws that assume Blacks are not responsible for themselves.

I suppose anything that could hurt a negro will need to be banned. Barbecue ribs, fried chicken, malt liquor, watermelons, and other negroes.

And a year from now, when Menthol cigarettes are banned, the NAACP will be screaming how the ban disparately impacts on blacks.

It gets back to the bigger picture: no matter what policy is enacted, it all becomes one big race hustle.

Ban blacks? Finally a sensible solution to deal with the criminal parasites

It would seem that Menthols address the underlying issue: more blacks are born than thinned out by gangsta nonsense. Can’t we just give them away in the SNAP program?

OT: At a movie theater yesterday I saw a preview of "Mary Queen of Scots" and of course there were, in the English royal court, blacks. Later I looked up the film in imbd.com and found there are no less than four blacks in what is portrayed as Olde England, as well as one Chinese woman. Hollyweird presents this to us with a straight face.

Much has been said in this forum about blacks being included in just about every TV commercial and TV show. I had thought about making a note of which advertisers were using blacks to sell me insurance, computers, financial advice, etc., and other specialties largely unknown to blacks, but soon I realized that the shorter list would be the one that did NOT include them.

What really turned my stomach was a TV commercial for Trojan condoms featuring a young dindu and his YT girlfriend -- as if the dindu would be against making his girlfriend pregnant. Ugh. I don't want to imagine a dindu pouring the coal to his mudshark and the result nine months later.

Make a law. That always stops them.

If you perused the linked NY Slimes article, you'd see that "black leaders" in 2016 appealed to Obama to do something about menthols and got no response.

Now, watch these same "black leaders" howl and wail about "racist Trump" "targeting" blacks by taking away their menthols.

From March, 2011, The Atlantic:

"Menthol cigarette smokers can exhale in relief: their Kools won't be losing their cool anytime soon.

A Food and Drug Administration advisory panel has declined to recommend a ban on menthol cigarettes, even though the study group conceded that a ban would improve public health. The decision follows a 2009 federal ban on candy flavorings in cigarettes because of their potential allure for young smokers."

When looking up this topic I found few good answers, most said that even black people don't know why. While some say because it was marketed to them, the proof in the pudding is "candy flavorings". Blacks love sweet drinks, particularly fruity ones like grape or fruit punch. The kicker is that genetically more susceptible to diabetes and other sugar-related maladies. And from the looks of the general black population, their lack of impulse control extends to sugary snacks and drinks as well.

The closest thing to a logical answer that I found was that menthols and other flavored cigarettes are made from lower quality and left over tobacco that didn't make it into the regular cigarettes, thus they are disguised and covered over with a bunch of flavorings and marketed to lower iq individuals.

They just love being living out stereotypes I guess.

Obongo didn't take any action against Kools because he probably smokes them. I have pics of him eating all of the items on Moochell's no-no list: barbecue as sugary as cotton candy; deep fried whatever; cholesterol cup. Everything to bring on heart disease, high pressure and diabetes.

It was cold this morning so I went to my closet to put on my Winter coat. On the floor of the closet I found three boxes of ballots from the election in Georgia. I was in shock. I called a friend and when he got to my house we started looking around. We found another box of ballots in the bedroom. The box was under my bed.

We called the DNC and they will be picking up the boxes tomorrow. I hoped we did the right thing.

Delaware dude. @ Anonymous at 10:18. Your comment brings to mind a few paragraphs from Mark Twain's Life on the Mississippi. Twain spoke to the bartender on a stern wheeler who stated that the blacks wanted the biggest, most colorful drinks he could make. never mind about the alcohol, it was about size and color. This was obviously after the War of Northern Aggression. Not much has changed on that front. Looksatme is always number one with everything.

And I found some Georgia ballots in the corner out in my veranda near Charleston, SC!
