How hard would it have been to keep your nose clean and not attract any sort of negative attention that felony domestic battery in the presence of a minor would surely bring? Apparently it was too hard for Mr. Haywood. The other dumbass in this equation was the white ahtletic director, Steven Pederson who as near as I can tell ran the Nebraska program into the dirt before going back to Pitt and bringing about his latest folly.

I have no problems if black people are hired to do a job and are qualified to do it. However, when you hire a black person into a position just for hiring sake (which looks like the case for Mr. Haywood) and they fail miserably, then it seems as if the process is broken. Of course some people get that concept. Yet others have no clue.Blue Eyed Devilnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3890530692790573387.post-2804457120303595212011-01-02T10:45:25.125-08:002011-01-02T10:45:25.125-08:00"whatever happened to the concept of being in..."whatever happened to the concept of being innocent until proven guilty?"

Irrelevant.
Even if he is 100% innocent, his ability to take over as a new coach, and especially to recruit, will be significantly impaired. The statement from the chancellor clearly made this point, and it is valid.

"To be clear, the university's decision is not tied to any expectation with respect to the terms on which the legal proceeding now pending in Indiana might ultimately be concluded. Instead, it reflects a strong belief that moving forward with Mr. Haywood as our head coach is not possible under the existing circumstances."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3890530692790573387.post-57011810188448222612011-01-02T10:20:59.777-08:002011-01-02T10:20:59.777-08:00I don't disagree.
