Affirmative action engineers would be perpetual new guys, and therefore always have another (real) engineer along, for years. The RR figured it was better to pay the guy for doing nothing rather than face a big lawsuit and a consent decree. And certainly better than letting the dope go out and derail a train.
Affirmative action employees get to keep their jobs whether they're competent or not. The professionals were good or they wouldn't be there (pre affirmative action). Shared an office with a Black guy. Pretty good guy. He got screwed over by the Highland Park police one weekend. Not impressed. Lazy and argumentative. When you say "if you have any problems then please call me" and they don't causing rework to product, that says a lot. Basically the line supervisor would provide them with work that needed to be done but required only minimal skills.

Techs? Pretty much average skill sets. Personality wise they were okay.

The black guy I shared an office with and I compared notes. He had family members that he hated (wasn't open as to why) and asked that if they called him to tell them he wasn't there that day. We both covered for each other in that regard. He'd dealt with racism. If all blacks were more like him there would be much fewer issues. He wasn't a 'Tom' either. We were friends at work. After work pretty much everyone went their separate ways.

When he got married the whole department turned out for his wedding 30-40 engineers and other coworkers. Allow me to correct that false statement. I attended the New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ, which is part of the UMDNJ system. In my class of ~170 students there were about 8 blacks and a handful of Hispanics. EVERY black student, despite having graduated from Ivy League schools, was immediately diagnosed with ADD on arrival to med school. This allowed them to take their exams in a separate, smaller and quieter room than the rest of the class, without being timed. The rest of the class took their exams in a huge lecture hall, with a time limit that worked out to 90 seconds per question. In addition to this, the black students also had access to previous exams and lecture notes that the rest of the class did not. They also were given a special 4 week 'elective' in Gross Anatomy (where we dissected a cadaver) in the summer before the rest of the students began, just to ensure they could attempt to function at the same level as the rest of the class. The irony of all of this preferential treatment for blacks taking place in the ruined-by-blacks city of Newark, NJ, was completely lost on the black students.
Affirmative Action is alive and well in med school, I'm afraid, and it doesn't end there. Residency programs are brimming with barely literate blacks that they are terrified to fire out of fear of the inevitable lawsuit. Something to keep in mind when you meet your next black physician. Sure, there may be exceptions such as the good Dr Carson, but they merely prove the rule. If your doctor is white, you can rest assured that he made it through on his own merits. Daddy's money may have gotten him in, but he sank or swam on his own after that point. The same simply cannot be said for the vast majority of blacks in med school.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3890530692790573387.post-29500150984729001922013-04-02T08:50:16.581-07:002013-04-02T08:50:16.581-07:00rjp

Dr. Carson has distinguished himself and is well-deserving of the accolades he receives. He’s an outlier eh? There are plenty of Black people who are brilliant that are in the medical field. Shouldn’t all that white DNA have propelled you to the stars?

Granted, not everyone is destined to be a Doctor, but how come you haven’t made a name for yourself in your industry? He must have had the gift of the gab to have that door open, as you said he bragged about having to convince someone to give him a chance. Why is it that poor asians can come here and whithin one generation they have a Harvard or MIT graduate in the family. This is still the greatest country in the world but blacks will continue to ruin it unless something is done.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3890530692790573387.post-27024636622517400472013-03-31T20:16:34.571-07:002013-03-31T20:16:34.571-07:00[continued]

That’s why Brad or Susie didn’t get into that medical program because of AA. I mean you have to be insane in the membrane to believe this.

Are you aware of the following?

* Affirmative action.
* "Diversity" requirements.
* Minority business programs.
* Section 8 housing policies.
* Blacks-only government contracts.
* Black studies departments on many universities.
* Bill Gates scholarships which exclude white people.
* The legal support of the ACLU for affirmative action.
* Major corporations providing grants and "365" policies for blacks.
* Hatecrime laws giving additional protection to blacks but not whites.
* Universities speech codes which censure students who deride blacks (while it is perfectly legit for professors to call for the "abolition" of the white race).
* Church and state in the USA importing large numbers of Haitians and Somalis while ignoring whites who want to get out of South Africa.

All these programs and many more are means by which whites are legally discriminated against in the USA.

The reason that Bob or Becky did not get that job was because they were held to a higher standard than blacks when applying for it. Or were not considered qualified for that business grant simply because of the color-of-their-skin. Or were forced out of a major university for making a politically incorrect remark.

Or maybe they were the victim of a wilding or drive-by and ended up in the trauma ward. Or their school standards dropped to accommodate a "diverse" student body so they never made it to that ivy league campus. Or they were forced out of their neighborhood because of vandalism and gangs and relocated away from job markets. Or perhaps they were tortured and murdered on that farm they and their family had worked in South Africa for centuries.

Given all this, perhaps you can understand where white people are coming from.Californiannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3890530692790573387.post-61915959367936037532013-03-31T20:04:09.797-07:002013-03-31T20:04:09.797-07:00Black Amethyst said...White people can’t accept th...Black Amethyst said...White people can’t accept that a Black may outshine them, simply because they think themselves to be so superior – as evidenced on this blog. My experience is that whites get very intimidated by this, and then try to tear someone else down by using Affirmative Action as a crutch.

If you believe this, then you have misunderstood what white people are saying.

Granted, there are individual cases of black excellence (and good for them).

But where do we collectively see this "outshining?" Is it in black rates of graduation? Illegitimacy? Welfare dependency? Business revenues? Violent crime?

Is it in black stewardship of cities such as Detroit or Birmingham or Newark? Or in post-colonial Africa? Perhaps in the wave of car burnings and rioting by "people of color" in the European Union?

What concerns many whites is that blacks are not holding up their end of the bargain. Whites have over the past half century given blacks just about everything they have demanded: from Brown v Board of Education to the war on poverty to a black man as POTUS.

In return, whites get from blacks: more crime, more illegitimacy, more trashed schools, more cities self-destructing. And rarely if ever do we see blacks taking responsibility for any of this. Instead, all we get is one more race hustle on top of many more race hustles.

Put yourself in the position of your average white person: would you really want to live in a city like Detroit, or a country like Zimbabwe? Heck, you have millions of blacks fleeing from their own majority-rule paradises.

If whites are "intimidated," it is not because of successful black surgeons, engineers and criminologists. It is because under black-majority-rule, white people see themselves and their children being brutalized by criminality; their schools decline; their civic infrastructure fall apart; and themselves being driven out of the cities and countries they and their ancestors built.

[continued]Californiannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3890530692790573387.post-6296567979117568162013-03-31T19:40:10.932-07:002013-03-31T19:40:10.932-07:00Until the country faces the facts about black I. Once that happens, their hostility, prejudice, bigotry and exclusiveness comes to the fore and is blatant and obvious. All the talk of fairness, disparate impact etc up to that point is just playing the victim but as soon as the tipping point is reached, they become a thousand times worse than anyone they ever complained about.

This is a good point and one which is worth exploring. Many white Americans go on the basis that blacks want a fair chance at things, a level playing field. But that is not the way it has worked out. Blacks, at least those with any power, strive to enhance that power.

To put it simply, if whites surrender power then why should anyone be surprised when other groups move into the vacuum? That has been the standard procedure for politics since the Neolithic Era.

Look at the history of the USA over the last six decades, or of post-colonial Africa, and now the expanding third world ghettos in European cities. Blacks, once granted equality, move to maximize their power. And to dispossess their ethnic rivals. Often, this causes the self-destruction of their own communities (e.g., Detroit). In Africa, black majority rule leads to dictatorship, economic debacle attacks on ethnic minorities (including whites). But blacks prefer to hold power even as their societies disintegrate around them.

This is lost on DWLs who continue to believe that if only white people were nice to blacks, all shall live in the Promised Land. I suspect this is one reason that the mainstream media shows so many "positive images" of blacks and suppresses information on black criminality. It's one more manifestation of a civilization-wide Stockholm Syndrome. When face with an unpleasant reality, DWLS create a fantasy world in which equality really works.

Blacks justify their dominance with all sorts of ideological folderol, but the reality is that they push out other groups via affirmative action, flash mobs, race hustling of every manner, urban insurrection. This is why you have to look at the political component to black violence, whether you are talking about gangbanging in the 'hood or farm attacks in South Africa.

The dilemma is: why do whites not understand their own interests and fight for them?Californiannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3890530692790573387.post-6175652841118888462013-03-31T19:06:54.833-07:002013-03-31T19:06:54.833-07:00"BET"
