I thought of teaching my 14 year old son trigonometry, but he was so bored after listening to me teach his younger brothers algebra that he fell asleep, but I'll teach him next Saturday or Sunday. I really don't understand why schools make it so difficult. If my kids can not only solve basic algebra equations, but listen to word problems and translate them into algebraic equations and directly solve them, what then makes math so difficult? Is it the teaching method or truly just IQ?<br />To go further, I may just teach them (my 9 & 10 year old sons) trigonometry with their 14 year old brother. After all, trig isn't hard either if explained in simplest terms.
