White America's Flag on the Moon No Longer Worth Celebrating in "First Man"

Make no mistake, the July 20, 1969 landing on the moon by the crew of Apollo 11 was a magical feat courtesy of individual white people collectively uniting on a mission impossible to almost every other generation of humanity in the history of our species.

It's why Whitey on the Moon': Race, Politics, and the death of the U.S. Space Program, 1958 - 1972 is such an important work, documenting how black America was almost monolithically united against the Apollo program. And in the current year, we can no longer even celebrate white America's triumphant moment of landing on the moon with the slide rule. [Ryan Gosling defends Neil Armstrong biopic 'First Man' leaving out American flag in moon landing scene, Fox News, 8-31-18]:
“First Man,” the Neil Armstrong biopic that tells the tale of the 1969 moon landing, has stolen the show at several international film festivals — but not everyone is happy.
First Man will omit the planting of the American flag on Luna, an event Robert Heinlein correctly noted heralded the dawning of a new age
The film fails to show one of the most integral moments of American history – when Armstrong plants the American flag on the moon, according to The Telegraph.
Ryan Gosling, the Canadian actor who portrays Armstrong in the movie, defended the decision to not show the flag.
Gosling was asked at the Venice Film Festival whether omitting the scene was deliberate and the actor attempted to sidestep the question by responding that the moon landing “transcended countries and borders.”
“I think this was widely regarded in the end as a human achievement [and] that's how we chose to view it,” he told reporters. "I also think Neil was extremely humble, as were many of these astronauts, and time and time again he deferred the focus from himself to the 400,000 people who made the mission possible.”
Gosling said he didn’t think Armstrong “viewed himself as an American hero.”
“From my interviews with his family and people that knew him, it was quite the opposite. And we wanted the film to reflect Neil."
Gosling jokingly admitted he might have “cognitive bias” being that he’s Canadian.
The moon landing did "transcend countries and borders," as the genius of Project Paperclip ensured the USA got the smartest Germans instead of the Soviet Union. But we can't talk about these hidden figures, can we?

Gosling's character will be pleasant, honest, and a man of integrity etc. etc.

EVERY SINGLE minority in the film (and there will be many) will be portrayed as smart, informed, and also of complete integrity combined with friendliness, thoughtfulness, etc...

And it's the way the star interacts with minorities that always makes me puke a bit in my mouth.

Even in times before "true" equality, white historic figures always treat the minorities in their presence with the respect of a social equal- or at least show an incredible amount of courtesy toward them. This is of course in contrast to the "other" white people who don't have as much of the beloved inclusive American spirit.

Does Armstrong have a sassy black sidekick to help give him advice and leadership when he is in his periods of deepest doubt?

Just catering to the white cattle and their feel-good needs, I guess. There are thousands upon thousands of amazing actors out there and we are forced to see the same "A list" set of actors and actresses over and over again instead of giving one of these talented people their big break.

I can't wait until we begin rebuilding civilization without multicultural enrichment and interference.

The last line was classic!

"But we can't talk about these hidden figures, can we?"

When Neil Armstrong stepped on the Moon, it was a human achievement that all men should celebrate. However, due to Armstrong being the wrong color, it will be relegated to the dustbin of history if the progressives have any say into what goes inside the history books.

I remember an editorial featured Ed Dwight on SBPDL. He would have been the first African American candidate to stand on the Moon if John F. Kennedy had anything to do with it. Alas, Kennedy was shot and all interest in putting Mr. Dwight on the Moon died with him. Never mind that Mr. Dwight was woefully outclassed by other astronauts, had Kennedy lived it would have been Dwight's voice instead of Armstrong's we heard. Why? Because even in the early 1960s Kennedy was devoted to the uplift of the negro race.

Whites who think like Kennedy on uplifting blacks are called progressives nowadays. They will exclude anyone who comes between them and the anointed ones (the blacks).

That they are ashamed to show the US flag just goes to show the liberals recognize that it was white America's achievement in spite of their hidden figures BS.

Gosling said he didn’t think Armstrong “viewed himself as an American hero.”

Utter dung filled fly infested nonsense!

..........I know pilots who have been in social gatherings with Neil years after his walk on the moon. It was a rare situation to ever meet the man and every one of the pilots told me that yes Neil didn't see himself as a hero but part of a team of exceptional people ending up doing extraordinary things

...............but and here's the important part.

He was damn proud to be an American and was proud to be of service in this capacity for America.....

Everyone I mean everyone in the world............that isn't a White male.........hates what White males (especially American White males) have accomplished and they keep trying to push, demean and erase those accomplishments.

Amazing that 3/4 of the worlds population still couldn't figure out how to get clean drinking water and create any kind of sewage system when White men were walking on the moon.

https://www.wishtv.com/news/crime-watch-8/police-think-feud-between-indy-rappers-led-to-murder-at-concert/1410269026

Here are some of the high-lights: "According to court documents, Whitfield and Devan Evans have been identified in multiple IMPD investigations as Indianapolis rappers, Evans as "DBo" and Whitfield as "Poodie AKA sec8livin."

At the time of Faulkner's death, Devan Evans had been arrested in an unrelated incident and was in custody at the Marion County Jail. Detectives listened to several of Evans' jail calls, where several people said that "'Poodie' shot Roddrick over 'Poodie' performing his 'dis' song about 'DBo.'"

Section 8 living? Check. A "dis" song? Check. Everyone including the family of the deceased uncooperative with police? Check.

This has the same familiar undertones that I saw a couple of years ago now it seems about how South American Countries were demanding that they are given access/technology for Space Exploration because it was racist for it to be the exclusive domain of White Men, or something akin to that genocidal nonsense.

This is just part and parcel of this movement, this leaving out of the American Flag.

The American Flag represents White Men and their Accomplishments.

So it must be erased from History. All of the White Mans accolades must be re-envisioned and shown in media as feats done by Black Men and miscengrating White Women or Incompetant White Men whose success is wholy the responsibility for the dynamic diversity around him.

Damn. I just saw the ad for this movie and was hoping-against-hope maybe one slid under the corporate media radar and we'd have a decent American hero movie as a more recent touchstone.

Sadly, it's no surprise it would be touched and doctored to appear to be what it's not. An anti-America, 'global' success story.

Too bad. I liked Gosling. Had no idea he was Canadian. THat's how much I pay attention to them folks 'off screen'.

Now I have to classify him with the other Hollywood ass-hats.

I'll have to just keep re-watching the old westerns...

The greatest achievement of mankind and we don't show the American Flag? I'm just glad that my father and brother have passed on so they wouldn't see this. Dad was at Iwo Jim's and my brother serve during Vietnam. Both volunteered. To think that blacks were against this and wanted the government to give to them to fight poverty and injustice. They would just piss it away.
The simple fact is that white people created modern civilization and built the world that sustain the standard of living enjoyed by POC in the world. But all the do is bitch. Left to their own, they would be chucking Spears and living in mud huts.

If you're ever in central Ohio, go to Wapakoneta and visit the Neil Armstrong Museum. It is a tribute to the achievements of white civilization.

The entertainment industry attracts neurotics. Which is why they almost always have problems with relationships, addiction and finances. And why they overwhelmingly lean to the left.

I suspect that at least part of the omission of the flag raising ceremony is the film makers did not want to potentially offend overseas viewers and risk their profits.

The film is based on the book “First Man” which I read several years ago. I will have to check to see how or the flag raising was treated in the book.

Thanks for the laughs but there is another great story at the same site. Seems at the dog-and-pony show funeral for Aretha Franklin the "bishop" presiding over the entertainment "accidentally" grabbed one of Ariana Grande's tits then made this comment: " . . . Ellis also apologized to Grande, her fans and Hispanic community for making a joke about seeing her name on the program and thinking it was a new item on the Taco Bell menu."

Always keeping it classy, way to go "bishop". Aren't they all "reverends" anyway? I guess the "bishop" was just doing the "laying on of hands" like in the Bible.

Well yes ... a German flag would have been more appropriate (and the endless discussions as to which one ;b)

But seriously - as you know Oberth refused to work for the Americans as they would only weaponize his dream (Geez. Where´d he get THAT idea from?).
Korolew, also being Old School, cooled his heels in the gulag for similar reasons.
In the end Oberth´s lab assistant von Braun, Debus and their staff proved to be enough - just to give you an idea of the potential there was.
I did hear a pep talk by H. Schmitt - Apollo 17, the only scientist (geologist) to ever walk the moon; ALL others were military pilots (and SJWs all; yeah, right) - but was somewhat underwhelmed; maybe my expectations were too high ;)
In hindsight (20/20) the Apollo program WAS a vastly overpriced pissing contest.
Eugene Shoemaker, NASA chief geologist, resigned in protest after Apollo 11 for that very reason (his estimate was four years earlier at one fifth of the cost for the same scientific yield but without the flag raising).

Be that as it may, had they invested in lifting up the groid instead of the Saturn V we´d be up to our eyebrows in retarded rapists and murderers by now ...

Always remember Canada is a low accomplishment nation. I have some Canadian cousins and I had a Canadian wife. Canadians are pleasant - slightly boring - white nation that is descended from the people who didn't want to rebel against George III. They didn't care enough about lack of freedom to join us in the American Revolution.

So when we have a Canadian tell us that it wasn't just America that got us to the moon, I bristle. How impactful has the US been versus Canada? Canada has roughly 10% of America's population so they should have about 10% of our inventors, scientists, industrialists and so forth.

But they don't.

There have been 93 Americans who won the Nobel Prize in physics. But only 3 Canadians. America has Silicon Valley a global nexus of innovation and invention. Canada has the Tar Sands. Why are there all these Canadians in Hollywood? I can't blame them. Where would they get work in the Great White North? Canada has a government policy similar to our Affirmative Action programs. It's called "Canadian Content". realizing that their people cannot compete with Americans, they enforce a whole series of preferences in the market place for Canadian products and cultural efforts.

We don't know just why but the people below the 49th Parallel have accomplished so much more than those above. In this case it isn't just racial. The people the Rio Grande are also low achievers but they are predominately composed of lower IQ Amerindian stock. You would think that the mild mannered white Canadians would have done more.

So I'm not amused when I read that these low energy Northerners want to garner some of the credit for American achievements.

By the way we probably won't be getting to Mars anytime soon and it will be a very, very long time before we can have humans live there.

If people want to be martians we will have to do two things. One change Mars. Two change people.

If we intend to live on the surface of Mars, we will need significant terraforming. We need some of big machines like they had in the movie "Aliens" to create an atmosphere. Even in high gear that's going to take millennia. Plenty of water is available however in the Oort Cloud once we learn how to herd comets.

But we will also have to change ourselves. We will probably need to become dinosaurs. Dinosaurs and birds have much better lungs than mammals. Make people with air sacs, hollow bones and the like, and they will do better on low oxygen Mars.

We've been adapted to earth-like conditions through a process that has been evolving for a couple billion years. We shouldn't expect to quickly transfer to another planet.

It might be quicker to just become robots.

I went back and read the relevant section (two paragraphs) of James Hansen’s “First Man”, the authorized biography of Neil Armstrong on which the film is based.

Apparently, the flag was a relatively late addition to the flight as was the decision to use a US flag rather than the UN flag. The astronauts did not even practice setting up the flag during training. The only opinion expressed by Armstrong (in the book) was his opinion that the flag should fall naturally as though it would on earth rather than using a rigid structure to make it appear to be waving in a breeze. Armstrong stated that he stayed out of discussions relating to the flag and provides no opinion about the patriotic significance of raising the flag. Armstrong was only told that there would be a message from a VIP during the flag ceremony but he was not even told it would be President Nixon.

I think this is (mostly) Breitbart trying to stir up shit and film makers trying to protect their box office take in overseas markets.

I am not terribly upset about this and the film will be one of the extremely rare films I actually watch in a theater. Keep in mind that the US government by 1969 was well on its way to fucking us over. They had let loose the negroes of (domestic) war to raise havoc on US cities and were engaged in a useless war in Vietnam after which they likely left POWs in the hands of our adversaries. Hell, they were seriously considering a UNITED NATIONS flag for Christ’s sake!

Just recently, I watched “Chappaquiddick” about Ted Kennedy’s aquatic weekend which took place the day before the Apollo 11 landing. Ted is asked in an interview before the accident about the meaning of his brother’s lunar landing challenge. His answer ignores the Apollo 11 flight and essentially calls for more gibs. What a total piece of shit. Quite poetic that he and John McCain died of the same cause nine years apart to the day.

Although the film may be faithful to the book it’s based on, it’s pretty clear that Armstrong and the rest of the crew did not ignore the predominant role of the Americans that paid for and participated in the program. The lunar module was named “Eagle”. During the return to earth, Armstrong said the following:

ARMSTRONG: "The responsibility for this flight lies first with history and with the giants of science who have preceded this effort; next with the American people, who have, through their will, indicated their desire; next with four administrations and their Congresses, for implementing that will; and then, with the agency and industry teams that built our spacecraft, the Saturn, the Columbia, the Eagle, and the little EMU, the spacesuit and backpack that was our small spacecraft out on the lunar surface. We would like to give special thanks to all those Americans who built the spacecraft; who did the construction, design, the tests, and put their hearts and all their abilities into those craft. To those people tonight, we give a special thank you, and to all the other people that are listening and watching tonight, God bless you. Good night from Apollo 11."

More from the Indy Star, apparently that professor died in horror as he was killed by 4 wilding groids.

Two more teens charged in murder of Indiana University doctor

Two more teenagers have been charged by the Marion County prosecutor's office as suspects in the November 2017 killing of Indiana University doctor and educator Kevin Rodgers.

Nehemiah Merriweather, 18, and Devon Seats, 17, became the third and fourth suspects to face charges in the case. Two others — 18-year-old Ka’Ron Bickham-Hurst and a 15-year-old juvenile — were charged in December.

Prosecutors say the four broke into Rodgers' home in the 7500 block of Ballinshire South on the northwest side. Rodgers, 61, was found in his kitchen with gunshot wounds to his stomach and head, court documents say.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police investigators found new information, which led to this week's charges, said Peg McLeish, spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office.

In western Canada, road construction crews in remote areas use dogs to warn of bear attacks. Since they can’t carry guns and a permit to have a man sit with a rifle and guard them is nearly impossible, when a grizzly runs out of the woods, the dogs bark, and the humans run. The bear generally eats one or two of the dogs because they are tied up.
The Canadians accept this due to a) liberal progressive anti-gun laws, b) no-one seems to make the correlation between tying up a dog and baiting the bears.
Just something to remember when considering anything that comes from Canada.

The flag planting wasn’t shown because the movie would have been banned in China. China only allows a limited number of outside movies to be distributed in their country. For example, Apollo 13 wasn't shown in China because it depicted heroic non-Chinese performing great technological feats, and unlike our masters, the Chinese rulers love their own people and do everything they can to advance them.
If the flag had been shown in this Armstrong movie it would never have played in China and would have taken a huge financial hit. The (((studio executives))) and Gosling lack the integrity to come right out and say why the flag wasn’t shown, but everyone in the industry knows why.

The flag planting wasn’t shown because the movie would have been banned in China.

They could have cut the scene for the Chinese release.  There was only one reason to take it out of the version for the rest of the world, and that is to denigrate the signature accomplishment of the USA as the moral victor of the Cold War.

OTOH, this accomplishment was owed to literal Nazis like Werner von Braun.  Maybe cutting out the US flag wasn't all that far out of line.  But they should have replaced it with the German eagle. ;)

It's message was about as SJW/open borders as it gets. I got rid of my tv a while ago and can honestly say I don't miss it or my cable bill one bit. Now the only times I watch tv are when I'm at an airport or hotel bar, and I am boggled by the pure shit that they show and consider entertainment. It's a slap in the face to human intelligence and dignity. I urge more people to "kill your tv" as the saying goes, and find a hobby, read, exercise, spend time with friends, neighbors, and family, meditate, do something constructive/productive. Life is short and time is the only true commodity, enjoy it while you can, instead of watching reruns of Big Bang Theory or some other garbage with a subliminal agenda.
