Sadly, many topics have been hijacked by individuals with a vendetta, advocating ideas that are not germane to the subject matter but serve to stimulate some suppressed feeling of inadequacy. Valuing the regular forum participants who have been commenting for some time, it is time to implement a form of tyranny and conjure the important rules delineating by Dalton in Road House:
Dalton: All you have to do is follow three simple rules. One, never underestimate your opponent. Expect the unexpected. Two, take it outside. Never start anything inside the bar unless it's absolutely necessary. And three, be nice.
Life is pretty simple. If you follow these rules you’ll live a full, prosperous life and rarely find yourself in a difficult predicament. I tried to be nice, accommodating undeniably asinine comments to posts that a lot of people enjoy reading and then commenting upon.
Valuing the time and creativity it took for people to read posts and then comment, I never underestimated “opponents” who came here hoping to debunk much of what is written. It has become glaringly obvious that few, if any, of the links provided to news stories, government statistics and other forms of analysis have even been perused by those blindly commenting and engorged with antipathy automatically at the mere existence of such a website like SBPDL.
The time to be nice is over. Henceforth, if the comment fails to discuss the post in question or is riddled with links to websites that promote dubious theories it shall not be published.
It’s my way, or the highway as the late Patrick Swayze famously stated. But don’t worry, you’ll still be able to read official SBPDL entries and exclusively commentary that few other websites, newspapers or televisions would ever publish or air.
If you conform to the rules at hand, you can stay around for some fun.
Just back up what you write with a solid link, or show that you have read what has been written and thought about it prior to posting a knee-jerk response.
We still have no idea why the poor girl was dragged out of a Jack in the Box and then beaten by a pack of truculent Black people, but we know perfectly well of the continued abuse by police of innocent thugs who fail to cooperate with police.
As the recent World Cup has shown anyone paying attention, it takes massive police force or the threat of coercion to intimidate criminals. Once you remove that threat, lawlessness and anarchy is the natural state of man.
Such became of the comments section. No more.
Follow the rules, have some fun.
