#111. Fox News Channel

Black people, as we have discussed, do not like their Local Nightly News Casts. Unlike ESPN, which highlights Black people in one of the only endeavors they excel in (sports), nightly news casts shine a dis-nevering light upon the Black community.

It little matters the city, for wherever Black people are found in copious numbers, trouble is a sturdy ally.

However, nightly news casts are of little concern to Black people when confronted with the conundrum of the Fox News Channel, which Black people erroneously believe placates the white majority (it does slightly defend Pre-Obama America, but as we will see, not white people).

Black people are incapable of watching Fox News, for the channel - to them - represents evil personified and the complete merging of Republican and white people values:

"We have watched FOX News attack President Barack Obama, first lady Michelle Obama and Black America. Bill O'Reilly called for the death of murdered abortion doctor George Tiller only months before his death. Remember, too, it was the FOX-owned New York Post who printed the monkey cartoon. It was also FOX News who lashed out against Hurricane Katrina evacuees, arguing they were to blame for an increase in homicides. Yet, the network tried to cover up the incompetence of the Bush administration that led to the deaths of many Blacks in New Orleans."

In reality, Black people will never be able to forgive Fox News for that channel acted as a voice of propaganda for George W. Bush. Hurricane Katrina was a horrible moment for Black people, for it showed the world the reality of Being Black in America (contrast Hurricane Katrina with the massive flood in Iowa three years later).

White people love Fox News, for they view Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Glen Beck and the other diverse white people who read the news as saviors of Pre-Obama America. Little do they know that the network has served as an outlet for white people's anger all these years and acts as a conduit for their energy.

In reality, Fox News does little to preserve the "old country" and "the greatest generation" (a future SBPDL), but garners massive ratings from white people who want to believe someone stands up for their interests and is actually "Fair and Balanced".

Sean Hannity, it must recalled, claimed Kim Kardashian is a moral beacon for young women in America, despite the fact that she is the same girl that Black people pass around for fun and enjoy filming her in pornographic videos that she co-stars in.

Fox News has also failed to replicate CNN's massive popular Black people-centric show, "Black in America", and instead has War Stories with Oliver North, a show that glorifies the exploits of Pre-Obama America and the sacrifices they made that have given us The Age of Obama.

Fox News Channel also fails to be in awe of Mein Obama, as other networks have graciously fallen to two knees in subservience to the president. MSNBC's Chris Matthews, besides denouncing those who disagree with Obama as racist, claimed:

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Yeah, well, you know what? I want to do everything I can to make this thing work, this new presidency work, and I think that --

JOE SCARBOROUGH: Is that your job? You just talked about being a journalist!

MATTHEWS: Yeah, it is my job. My job is to help this country.

SCARBOROUGH: Your job is the make this presidency work?

MATTHEWS: To make this work successfully. This country needs a successful presidency.

Glenn Beck, however, has begun to take that anger Fox News has been collecting and spewing forth venom that leaves Black people aghast and frightened lynch mobs might be near. Black people are even protesting his show and trying to get advertisers pulled.

Beck, of course, criticized Mein Obama, which is something that Black people don't like.

In reality though, Fox News Channel is about as favorable of Pre-Obama America as Michelle Obama was and will always be.

The flagship show, The O'Reilly Factor, recently highlighted a purported Black conservative - Harry Alford - as a wonderful man and a beacon of conservatism. Alford, head of the National Black Chamber of Commerce, is a Black radical.

Black people love him, because he fights for Black people and the creation of businesses for Black people only. White people must love, according to O'Reilly, for reasons that are difficult to ascertain.

News Corp., the company that owns Fox News Channel, agreed to create a diversity panel to ensure that evil racism is a thing of the past:

"News Corp. is forming an external diversity council in response to pressure over a New York Post cartoon that critics said compared President Barack Obama to a dead chimpanzee.

The cartoon appeared in February. News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch published an apology in the Post, but civil rights and community organizations demanded further action.

NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous said Wednesday that News Corp. had agreed to form a "diversity community council" that will meet semiannually with company executives."

In reality, Fox News Channel was created by a media mogul who saw a paucity of conservative talk in the forum of television. He saw the money that Rush Limbaugh was making over the AM/FM radio dials, and realized if white people could be lead to believe a television station was actually looking out for their interests, then the country could continue to tank as long as Fox News Channel was feeding them soma and visions of hope amid the seemingly glaring reality that America is headed for disaster.

Stuff Black People Don't Like includes the Fox News Channel, for Black people view it as the magnet of racism and a vile station that promulgates heinous invective toward Mein Obama and Black people in general.

In reality, the channel is a magnet for white people's anger and the Fox News Channel gladly rakes in the cash, for as long as people consider Sean Hannity a "great American," then The Reality of Jefferson County will be coming to a city near you soon.

Paul,

I am a fan of your blog and enjoy reading it frequently. This post however, seemed to be little more than incoherent rants and rambling. Get some sleep man. The jet lag must have gotten to you. ;)

Keep up the good work.

Strange post.

The whole point of cable is to deliver content that appeals to a narrower audience than can be done with broadcast television, which must reach a very broad audience, in part because it's regulated by the FCC. As a result:

BET caters to blacks; Univion caters to Hispanics; MSNBC caters to liberal winguts; ESPN caters to sports fans; The Food channel caters to food lovers; Nickleodeon caters to teens; The Cartoon Channel caters to kids; We could go on and on.

I don't agree that Fox is unfair to blacks or that blacks should be offended by its programming. But if blacks are offended, big deal. They can change the channel.

Regarding Katrina, I will NEVER forget the footage I saw of blacks looting a store. Rather than steal necessities like bottled water, food, etc. which would be understandable and forgiveable, I saw an image of a big fat black woman walking out of a store being looted carrying a twelve pack of beer under each arm.

I guess your argument will be that whites probably did it too, but the decision was made to show a black carrying out beer for the sole purpose of portraying them in the worst possible light because the media is mostly run by whites, who are racists.

I don't think you understand what this post is about.. so I'll spell it out. No, Hurricane Katrina showed the world what Black in America is all about.

Juxtapose the Iowa flood in 2008 - all white people - with the Katrina incident.

Fox News is not pro-white nor does it speak for the white majority. It throws some bones to get middle-America excited, but it exists to suck all the good energy that white people exude into believing they have a voice.

Fox News Channel was created because of a scarcity of conservative news on television. It entered the market and is the No. 1 news channel because, WHITE PEOPLE WATCH IT.

Smart business move, even smarter to keep white people thinking anything will ever change as long as St. O'Reilly and Saint Hannity are on their side.

However, Glenn Beck is starting to get really interesting.

Black people don't like Fox News because they are incapable of understanding reality and that FOX NEWS Channel is just an outlet for whites to express anger.

nothing more.

The local government never was properly criticized for THEIR incompetence in the wake of Katrina. Where I live our local government doesn't sit around and wait for the federal government to fix things or plan for them. If they did they would be punished be being voted out. Blacks don't vote incompetent Black officials out. I could give you endless examples but alas, that's what STBDL if for.

Speaking of Katrina, why is it OK to say that a White President is racist but not a Black President? These special interest groups are doing nothing short of attacking the free speech of their opponents.

Advertisers that avoid Fox News are just missing out on a great market demographic of people that have jobs and want to purchase their goods. Prepaid cellphone companies and rent to own companies etc. can advertise on BET or CW. What's the big deal?

SBPDL,

I have to hand it to you: You hit the nail on the head with that response.

Fox news is not about conservative ideas or defending white people, its about making Rupert Murdoch even richer. I consider Fox to be part of the main stream media and i want it to go out of business as much as i want to see NBC and CNN off the airwaves. In a way its worse than the rest of the media outlets because it distracts white conservatives from real issues (their demographic decline) and distracts them with petty, culture war nonsense (gay marriage, "the war on christmas", etc).

Truth in reporting be racist.

TO further show the difference in reporting remember when the Obamas went to visit - Michellatiqua shows up in a sleeveless dress and did everything but high five the queen. Then we all know about arms around the shoulder for the group shot - but that is just white people protocal. Then look at barry Obama going to meet the Saudi king - it looks like he's bending over to suck his ... well you know. I quess its different with brother muslims.

I can't tell from the M. Obama news shots but are her gums really blue?

I actually think that this article is very coherent if you read it well. You cannot read this article with the preconceived notion that the writer is deadset in a particular political view -- i.e. conservatism, because if he/she was, then the article would be PRO-Fox News. It isn't. This article is about Black people perceiving Fox News to be the 2nd Coming of the Old guard. It is really an astute business modelled cable show that caters to a largely white population, and hence is not "Fair and Balanced", but knowingly skewed. Obviously the author deems, rightfully so, that the disingenious liberal bent of CNN is similarly mirrored in the overtly conservative inclination of FOX. Remember FOX news is nothing more. It is definitely not truely reality either. But that point of the article, and this blog, is not to argue the journalistic integrity of FOX -- it's to pinpoint Black dislikes, in a satirical, slightly flippant and critical manner.

I'm glad that the article doesn't reveal the author to be a right-wing nut. I like this blog because it speaks the truth, and you don't have to be left or right to wanna hear that.

If Fox News Channel is a an outlet for "white people's anger" then pray tell me, what is MSNBC who recently covered up a story about a black man who brought a gun to a healthcare townhall meeting but MSNBC tried to portray healthcare protestors as "racists" by editing the clip so we could not tell the race of the man carrying the gun?
I haven't seen anything racist or full of "white anger" about Fox News Channel, yet you can generalize.
Wow.....

SBPDL has made a coherent argument about the purpose and role of FOX news and yes it is definitely an MSM channel and a "white conservative outlet" run by the Aussie tycoon Murdoch, to make money.

I have to agree though with SBPDL that Glenn Beck is in a league of his own. Not only is the guy amusing to watch but he (and Hannity) pretty much lit a fire underneath the town hall debates and the Orwellian healthcare bill. No one else in the entire MSM is doing it,(which is worrying enough in itself) so more power to his arm and roll on 5pm....

-Great site btw, sent the link to many folks (just in case someone runs out of chicken :)

This is a racist article. sports isn't the only thing blacks excel at. I am a registered nurse and have been one for the last 20 years. You can find blacks in a vast array of technical and post-graduate types of jobs. Sports period, not just basketball is a highly celebrated genre in this country. It isn't just blacks but America period looks up to entertainment stars and athletes like they are royalty. The media has a lot to do with this because we constantly bombarded with the images of these people on television, radio and print.

Anonymous (August 27, 2009 8:03 AM): I guess your argument will be that whites probably did it too, but the decision was made to show a black carrying out beer for the sole purpose of portraying them in the worst possible light because the media is mostly run by whites, who are racists.

You have got to be kidding!

The media routinely coddles Blacks and, just as with Muslims, goes to ridiculous lengths for the sake of portraying them in the best imaginable light. Far beyond that, actually, which has been the inspiration for numerous articles at SBPDL.

If there is any institution in America that does backflips to appear non-racist, it's the media. Look at the calumny being heaped on Ron Paul for his truthful statements.

There was no need to portray New Orleans Blacks "in the worst possible light".

They did it quite skillfully ALL BY THEMSELVES.

The Superdome during Hurricane Katrina was all that anyone needed to realize that Black Undertow turns into a ferocious riptide of criminality the moment law enforcement is taken offline.

Whether it is Watts, Compton or New Orleans, the moment Blacks sense that law enforcement has its hands full, it's "gibsmedat" time with a consistent pattern of those who retail non-essentials being looted first.

What's more, all of such behavior interlocks perfectly with existing models of Black pathology. Like I said, Blacks already portray themselves in the worst possible light. Who needs to embellish upon it? That would be gilding the lily.

As to your assertion about media racism. You probably do not realize that in their desperate struggle not to appear racist, the Liberal media engages in some of the very worst racism of all.

The bigoted "Soft Racism" of lowered expectations.

Liberals prefer to believe that the poor little Black people just can't help themselves when it comes to stealing, dropping out of school, having multiple illegitimate children, relying upon welfare and every other last perpetual failing of Black people.

It is in the same way that Liberals prefer to believe that Muslim men just can't help but be sexually inflamed by the sight of an uncovered woman, strap bomb vests onto retarded children, indiscriminately rape non-Muslim women or stone people to death for homosexuality.

What is more derogatory; deploring TNB and calling upon Blacks to clean up their act … or excusing it at every turn while cheerfully submitting to the economic blackmail of America's welfare system so as to avoid the wrath of an undeservingly entitled underclass that has been denied its usual tribute?

Clearly, your world view cannot tolerate exposure to reality. Then again, some people are not on speaking terms with the truth.

Anonymous (August 27, 2009 11:29 AM): Speaking of Katrina, why is it OK to say that a White President is racist but not a Black President?

That would be due to the Liberal dictum regarding how "all whites are racist" and "people of color cannot be racists".

I hope that this clears things up.

These special interest groups are doing nothing short of attacking the free speech of their opponents.

And your point is? You have just discovered what lies on the reverse of the Big Lie™ coin.

If you are having trouble telling your Big Lie™, restrict the Free Speech of your critics.

Advertisers that avoid Fox News are just missing out on a great market demographic of people that have jobs and want to purchase their goods.

No they're not!

They are far more concerned with pushing the Politically Correct Multicultural message than worrying about profits.

If this wasn't the case, McDonald's wouldn't be squawking about Black365 along with the corporate equivalent being spewed by so many other companies and media outlets.

Prepaid cellphone companies and rent to own companies etc. can advertise on BET or CW. What's the big deal?

The "big deal" is that not pandering to minorities can be a swift death sentence in the modern business world.

Have you noticed all of the holiday commercials that show, what can only be, a top 1% Black family celebrating what appears to be a "white" Christmas?

Capiche?

Godffrey: Fox news is not about conservative ideas or defending white people, its about making Rupert Murdoch even richer.

How nice to see someone twigging to that fact.

Let's hope that everyone manages to remember how Al-waleed bin Talal bought 5.46% of News Corp., the parent company of "anti-terrorist" FOX News. From the link:

I also told you about Prince AlWaleed’s bragging that when FOX News reported on the perennial Muslim riots in France, he called Rupert Murdoch, demanding the word “Muslim” be removed. A half hour later, FOX News was calling these Muslim riots “civilian” riots, with the word Muslim nowhere to be found or heard.

Remember, these were the riots that saw thousands of "carbeques" destroying vehicles owned by decent French citizens.

Clearly, Glenn Beck and his Fox buddies don't have any sort of hand on the tiller.

Care to think about how this same anti-American Saudi scumbag has recently secured a $300 MILLION stake in Twitter along with major positions in Time-Warner, Apple and eBay?

I consider Fox to be part of the main stream media and i want it to go out of business as much as i want to see NBC and CNN off the airwaves.

Good on ya, mate. Fox's greatest contribution to modern civilization is its airing of "The Simpsons", one of the best written shows on television.

In a way its worse than the rest of the media outlets because it distracts white conservatives from real issues (their demographic decline) and distracts them with petty, culture war nonsense (gay marriage, "the war on christmas", etc).

They all do and Fox is only marching under the usual false colors that all media outlets do wherever they are given the least chance.
