One Day

This all started as a joke. I've said it repeatedly here. SBPDL was nothing more than a joke. Now...

This week, the end of Black-Run America (BRA) is the restoration of hope -- for everyone residing in America.

I tried to time Escape from Detroit: The Collapse of America's Black Metropolis for the week The Motor City - an almost all-Black city - lost her independence.

That moment is now upon us. The key to understanding America in the 20th century and where we are headed in the 21st century is found in Detroit. This is the reason SBPDL has turned our gaze upon the once dubbed "Paris of the West" and instead targeted the now "Mogadishu of the West" for a book detailing what exactly happened there.

Disingenuous White Liberals (DWLs) like Thomas J. Sugrue, Luke Bergmann, and Kevin Boyle have all published scholarly works that basically blame white racism and white flight for Detroit's collapse. No, the answer rests with those who were victorious in the 1967 riot -- which was tantamount to a low-level ethnic cleansing of whites from the city.

Coming tomorrow, Escape from Detroit: The Collapse of America's Black Metropolis will be made available. At more than 300 pages, this is the book that dares act as cutting of the Gordian Knot of Gunnar Myrdal's American Dilemma.

Chapters include:

  •  in-depth looks at the role the NAACP played in destroying the most important freedom in America, Freedom of Association, by waging a war on restrictive covenants. It all started in Detroit.
  • a look at Kwame Kilpatrick's reign of terror, which epitomizes why 82 percent Black Detroit is on the verge of financial Armageddon.
  • a look at Luke Bergmann's embarrassing book Getting Ghost: Two Young Lives and the Struggle for the Soul of an American City, which is an undercover account of Black life in the drug culture of Detroit.
  • a breakdown of Detroit's population by race over the years (less than 1 percent Black 100 years ago; a breakdown of Detroit Public School enrollment by race over the past eighty years.
  • asks the question why a homogenous Black city isn't thriving, which is contrary to the findings of Harvard sociologist Robert Putnam, who found that the more diversity in a community, the less social trust is present. This book shows that the Blacker a city, the less social trust exists. 
  • and of course, much more. 

One day, this madness will end. May Escape from Detroit play a part in that moment occurring. It will detail why the blame of Detroit's collapse has nothing to do with the decline of the auto industry, with an in-depth look at when and why the big three automakers in America (GM, Ford, and Chrysler) disengaged from Detroit and moved to the suburbs. It will detail the United Auto Workers (UAW) deals with Black militants that ultimately sealed the fate for America's ability to compete with foreign car makers. And we will contrast this all with a look at Pittsburgh and the United Steel Workers (USW).

Now, the city is where freedom failed. It is no coincidence that it failed with a population that is nearly 90 percent Black.

What Do the Criminals Arrested by the Sanford Police Department Look Like? You Guessed it: Barack Obama's "Son" Trayvon Martin

The media has embarrassed itself over the Trayvon Martin - George Zimmerman story. So has Eric "My People" Holder's Department of Justice, which rushed into action when the "good ol' boy" Sanford Police Department let Zimmerman walk:
The FBI, the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, and the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida will investigate the killing of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed 17-year-old Florida high school student, who was shot by a self-appointed neighborhood watchman.

"The department will conduct a thorough and independent review of all of the evidence and take appropriate action at the conclusion of the investigation," a statement released by the Justice Department this evening said. "The department also is providing assistance to and cooperating with the state officials in their investigation into the incident." 
George Zimmerman, who claimed self-defense in shooting Martin, has not been charged with any crime in the fatal shooting of the teenager on Feb. 26.

But the real question is this: what is life like in Sanford, Florida? Of 57,000 residents, 57 percent are white and 30 percent are Black. And according to a report by the AP, the town has a history of racial division:

Before the charges that police botched the investigation of the shooting of an unarmed black teen, there were complaints that they went easy on an officer's son who beat a black homeless man, or that officers pull over black kids for wearing the wrong color hat because they suspect gang associations. 
The furor over the failure to charge a neighborhood watch captain for shooting Trayvon Martin to death is the latest episode to inflame racial tensions that have simmered between police and blacks in this Orlando suburb for years. And on Thursday, the department's chief temporarily stepped aside. 
Stanford City Manager Norton Bonaparte Jr. acknowledged the problems on Friday."The issues that have been brought to my attention regarding the black community and the Sanford police department go back 10 years," he said. "There's a lot of work that needs to be done there." 
Bonaparte noted Police Chief Bill Lee Jr. took over the department less than a year ago and said he had made improvements but added, "Certainly that has changed as of right now in terms of the relationship between the black community and the Sanford police department." 
Turner Clayton Jr., president of the Seminole County's NAACP, agreed."There is no trust," he said. "There is no confidence."
The article is never quite clear on why exactly there is no trust between the police and the Black community, but the answer shouldn't be hard to surmise. Black people - though 30 percent of the population of Sanford - commit a majority of the crime, leading the Black community to identify the police as the aggressors.

Why not take a quick look at the Sanford Police Web site to verify this claim?

1B: Why do they all look like Obama's son? Repeat
offenders in Sanford, Florida

  • In the "Do you know me" unidentified section of the site, three youth who look suspiciously like what Barack Obama's son would look like are pictured robbing liquor stores. We took the liberty of taking screenshots of the site (figure 1A and 2A). 
  • In the Criminal Repeat Offender Program (CROP) section, seven people are profiled. Six of them are Black; the other appears to be Zimmerman's amigo. (figure 1B)
  • In the Sanford's Career Criminal List, nine of the 11 people profiled are Black, with the other individuals oddly not looking like Obama's son.
So in a town of 57,000 people - with more than 17,000 people being Black people and 28,000 white - it appears that crime seems to be the avocation of people who look like Obama. 

Hopefully, this paints a clearer picture of why Mr. Zimmerman found the behavior of Trayvon Martin suspicious and called 911. Crime seems to be an occupation for people who look like Barack Obama's hypothetical son in Sanford, Florida. 

Black people in Sanford have a monopoly on crime; hard to deduce how you can engage in bias-based policing off of the facts presented by the SPD at their Web site. If you see a Black person in Sanford, odds are they'll be the person engaging in a crime.

Burning Down the House: Detroit, Affirmative Action, and the end of Black-Rule in The Motor City

Coleman Young, Detroit's first Black mayor, presides over a city his people inherited from white flight and promptly destroyed through neglect, affirmative action, and a general inability to innovate or ability to maintain the city's infrastructure
What if you could see a city where the logical conclusion of the consequences of affirmative action play out, where the desire to rectify past inequities in hiring patterns turns into an orgy of trying to add every conceivable Black person in the city onto the public payroll?

What if you could see a city where the founding population was ethnically cleansed after two disastrous race riots (1943 and 1967) and continued high rates of criminality made it impossible to justify living there? Robert Conot’s American Odyssey: A Unique History of America Told Through the Life of a Great City offers a direct window into why white people fled Detroit. On p. 448 of the book, we learn that in 1960 – when Black people were only 28 percent of Detroit’s population – that “the number of crimes reported in the city jumped from 54,700 in 1957 to 68,500, and major economic crimes (Robbery, burglary, and grand larceny) increased 40 percent – from 18,000 to over 25,000. During the latter 1950’s black suspects began to outnumber white suspects (in 1960 there were 18,936 black and 13,603 whites arrested), and as a result the spotlight was turned upon “Negro” crime.”

It was this increase in crime that drove 1 out of every 4 white people to leave Detroit in the 1950s, as the white population in plummeted from 1,545,847 to 1,182,970 in 1960. At the same time, the Black population increased more than 50 percent.

On p.466 of American Odyssey, we learn the severity of Black crime in the city of Detroit:
“There had been 9,500 Negroes among the 35,000 person arrested in Detroit in 1940. There were 23,000 among the 36,000 arrested in 1963… In 1963 the number of major economic crimes was nearly double what it had been in 1952, and almost four times what it had been in 1939. Most of the victims of crimes committed by Negroes were Negroes. Negroes were one of the most vocal segments of Detroit’s population demanding better police protection.”

In 1939, Detroit was 9 percent Black; in 1952, Detroit was 16 percent Black; by 1963, the city was 32 percent Black. Funny that Black people would demand better police protection in their neighbors, as Detroit would unveil the STRESS unit that specifically tried to deter crime in these ‘hoods but Black people would immediately claim brutality.

In 1973, Coleman Young would run for mayor of Detroit on a platform of ending STRESS, saying this fascistic program unfairly targeted the Black community. He would win (in an incredibly racial election) and immediately disband STRESS. Crime hasn’t stopped since, with most of deserted Detroit no longer under the protection of 911 services. And it is Black people being preyed upon by other Black people still.

But what of affirmative action, you ask? Look no further than the police, where more than 63 percent of the Detroit Police Department is Black:
Currently, twelve of the department's fifteen upper command members including the chief, assistant chief of operations, assistant chief of administration, and all six of the department's district commanders are Black.
What of the rest of the city?

Todd C. Shaw’s Now is the Time!: Detroit Black Politics and Grassroots Activism offers this glimpse into the world of public affairs in Detroit, with p. 78 – 79 reporting that Detroit’s first Black mayor, Coleman Young, solidified by Black monolithic support by implementing affirmative action:
Nonetheless, Young strongly influenced the dominant contours of public affairs in Detroit. Racial loyalty ensured that Detroit’s first black mayor enjoyed support among important sectors of the African American community – for example, senior citizens, churchgoers, civil-rights leaders, and Black Nationalist spokespeople. After all, it was Young who reformed and completely integrated the police force, achieved affirmative action goals, aggressively defended Detroit and black political control against a hostile (white) media and the suburbs, and averted financial collapse of the city in the early 1980s.
Funny, it took an emergency injection from the Jimmy Carter Administration in the 1970s [Black people became the majority population of Detroit in 1972] of $46 million (called the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act) after Young was forced to layoff 4,000 employees of the city in fiscal year 1974-1975 just to keep the city going then.

On p. 79, we learn to the extent of the affirmative action policies in Detroit:

This mattered to African Americans, for by the end of Young’s term [1994] and into the Archer administration, roughly 70 percent of all city employees were African American. The administration was also responsible for administering and dispersing millions of dollars in public contracts and grants in pursuit of affirmative-action goals. In Young’s first term alone, city contracts with minority firms rose from a mere 3 percent to 20 percent.
Only Ze’ev Chafets book Devils Night and Other True Tales of Detroit offers a more comprehensive look at who exactly has been in charge of Detroit and, more importantly, the group of people responsible for the impending collapse of the city. On p. 176-177, we learn:
Coleman Young is the black mayor of a black city, a fact never from his consciousness.
As Arthur Johnson observed, in no other place in the country have blacks succeeded in gathering so much political power into their own hands; specifically, the hands of the mayor. After four terms, he has cast the city government in his own image. Five of the nine members of the City Council are black [this book was published in 1990; now, all members are Black]. So were the chief of police, the fire chief, all four police commissioners, and the heads of most city departments (and, although Young does not appoint them, both congressmen, the superintendent of the schools and a majority of the city’s judges).

In city departments, where they are a minority, white often feel like outsiders. One senior official told me that she received bomb threats from colleagues because she was not part of the “black political mafia.”

But Young has done more than broaden access to the pork barrel. Under him, Detroit has become not merely an American city that happens to have a black majority, but a black metropolis, the first major Third World city in the United States. The trappings are all there – showcase projects [Renaissance Center], black-fisted symbols [Joe Louis Statue], an external enemy and the cult of personality. Detroit has even developed a quasi-official ideology that regards the pre-Young era as a time of white colonialism, ended by the 1967 insurrection and its aftermath. An official city publication describes the police department as having been a “hostile white army, entrusted by white authorities with the job of keeping nonwhites penned up in ghettos.”

Once those Black people were unleashed, look what they did to the city of Detroit.

This is what happens when you allow the inmates to run the asylum (Patterson Fears Detroit is Headed for Bankruptcy, Unrest, The Detroit News, March 27, 2012, Mike Martindale):
Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson said Wednesday he is concerned that harsh comments against a possible consent agreement to solve Detroit's financial crisis could foster economic chaos and even civil unrest.
In an interview, Patterson expanded on remarks he made before a Chamber of Commerce breakfast Wednesday morning at Oakland University. During the event, he described Detroit as a "tinderbox" and criticized a minister's comments made at a Detroit town hall meeting.
The outspoken Patterson also predicted Detroit couldn't survive without an emergency manager "yet continues to borrow money in an effort to get out of debt."
"Detroit is in a desperate economic struggle and appears headed towards the cliff we call bankruptcy," said Patterson. "An emergency manager may be the only way out of it. We have seen that in Flint, Pontiac, other cities, struggling with money problems. In Pontiac, we went from hundreds of employees and eliminated police and fire departments, much of city hall, and will probably be down to about 20 before it is all done."
He also criticized Detroit City Council's vote Tuesday to borrow $137 million to allow the city to make two upcoming debt payments.
"Trying to borrow your way out — like trying to sell $135 million (in bonds) like the council is talking — doesn't solve anything," Patterson said. "It just increases your debt. You don't get out of debt by adding to it."
Patterson said an emergency manager is "not pejorative" in his dictionary.
"The (emergency manager) may be all that stands between economic chaos and bankruptcy," Patterson said.
Patterson also criticized comments by the Rev. Malik Shabazz of the New Black Panther Party at a Detroit town hall meeting Monday on the fiscal crisis. Shabazz told state officials, "Before we let you take over our city, we will burn it down first." in reference to any state ordered takeover by an emergency manager.
"That kind of talk is inflammatory and is getting dangerously close to the line of incitement to riot," said Patterson, a former prosecutor. "You don't have to riot. You just have to incite people to riot. "
Riot? Again. Hasn’t Detroit had enough Black riots? Charlie LeDuff of Detroit’s Fox Affiliate interviewed Rev. Shabazz, getting these hilarious words from the man of the cloth:
"What ... is the matter with you?" LeDuff asked Shabazz.
"I love freedom," he said.
"I know, but dude, like freedom requires some responsibility. So, when you're like saying burn the ... town down, you're out of your mind," said LeDuff. "You know that thing's ricocheting around town today."
"Well, as a student of history, I look at Saginaw, I look at Benton Harbor, I look at Inkster, I look at Flint, I look at Highland Park, I look at Detroit, all of the African-American majority populated cities are being taking over by emergency manager. But I see fascism being inflicted upon the peoples of the inner cities of Michigan," Shabazz responded.
"But what about this, look, I mean, people got to live in this, right?" LeDuff asked as he motioned to a decrepit home in Detroit. "So how is this white supremacy when finally white dudes want to help fix this?"
"Because -- and when I say white supremacy, that's not an assault on my white brothers and sisters -- I'm talking about institutions, power, financiers, bankers, they willfully, skillfully and purposely through subprime lending depopulated and deconstructed Detroit, which leaves us in this dilapidated blight," Shabazz explained.
"Do you agree it's time we did something here?" asked LeDuff.
"We need to do something," Shabazz replied.
"Do you agree it's time to get a reign on our budgetary process here?" LeDuff inquired.
"I agree," said Shabazz.
"Do you agree that the people are suffering because the status quo won't work?" LeDuff further asked.
"This status quo is not working," Shabazz stated.
"So, tell the people what you want them to do," LeDuff said.
"What I want the people to do? I want you to unite -- black, white, blue -- unite, come together, deconstruct this wicked, reprobate-minded society and let's build a new one," Shabazz explained.
"And, don't burn it," said LeDuff.
"Don't burn it down," Shabazz said. "Don't burn the city, but burn evil and injustice and white supremacy, not white people."
"And you want to apologize?" asked LeDuff.
"No sir," said Shabazz.
  White supremacy had nothing to do with Detroit’s collapse. It was, simply put, Black people who engineered the disaster that has been unfolding in Detroit since Coleman Young’s election following the Black insurrection of 1967. White people just fled to the suburbs, escaping Black profligacy in the process.

There’s nothing to burn down in Detroit that hasn’t been set into a mighty conflagration on Devil’s Night or destroyed by highly flammable destroyer of working civil services known as affirmative action.

Detroit is the case-study for why this policy should be abandoned immediately. In fact, Detroit is a shining example of why freedom failed.

Public Transportation Could Work, Part II: If it wasn't for Black-Run America (BRA)

Lawrence Auster has highlighted one of the most honest pieces of journalism printed in an American newspaper in... in... well, just read these choice lines from The Washington Times piece for yourself:
Crash at the DC METRO in 2009: 97 percent of bus and train operators are Black in the WMATA
Ninety-seven percent of the bus and train operators at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority are black, with only six white women out of more than 3,000 drivers, according to Metro documents — a lack of diversity at one of the region's largest employers that has led to an acknowledgment of failure in affirmative-action documents and spawned a series of lawsuits. 
It is a culture in which a white male engineer near completion of a Ph.D. was passed over for a management position in favor of a black man who was barely literate, multiple staffers said.  
"The average rider wouldn't believe the things that go on. There are so many easy things we could do to make the system better," a station manager said. "But they'd never put me in charge because they know I'd make sure others actually did their jobs. They don't want change. It's go along to get along." 
White and Hispanic employees who allege discrimination have found a deaf ear at Metro's civil rights office, whose 17 employees are black. Until at least 1999, that office tracked complaints via a handwritten ledger on a series of taped-together sheets of paper, a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Times. The system "made determining statistics impossible," said a civil rights employee from the time. 
First-line managers 

Of a dozen senior supervisors overseeing the rail division in 2007, 10 were black and two were white, and five black supervisors, all with less than a year of tenure in the position, were paid more than both whites, who had more seniority — one with 20 years — personnel records obtained by The Times show. 
The group making more money includes senior supervisors such as Orlando Terrell King, who has been charged with reckless endangerment and fraudulently attempting to obtain a driver's license, according to Maryland state records. Mr. King, who is paid $62,536, was promoted by Metro to oversee those who drive trains carrying thousands of passengers daily. 
Also rising rapidly to senior supervisor was Robbie O. McGee, who spent eight years in federal prison for felony distribution of PCP while on probation for another crime. He received five pay increases at Metro in two years.

Public transportation could work, but The Washington Times has poignantly articulated why it doesn't. The WMATA amounts to a job program for otherwise unemployable Black people, helping to create a faux Black middle class in the process. Auster, in his usual matter-of-fact analysis, cuts to the heart of the problem with this Black scenario in Washington D.C.:
That is just an amazingly frank description of a black-run institution. Mainstream conservative outfits such as the Washington Times never speak about blacks in such honest terms. Is this the sign of a turn? Is the nation of cowards--or at least its conservatives--about to start speaking the truth about race? 
But I'm being silly. Of course conservatives are not about to start speaking the truth about race. Conservatives will see the above-described problems in the Washington Metro system as due to affirmative action and race preferences, not to the character of black people. Get rid of the "soft bigotry of low expectations," and blacks will do just as well as us! 
But As I've said many times, the ultimate problem is not race preferences; the ultimate problem is characteristics of blacks. If you had a city that was overwhelmingly black, as D.C. is, then your municipal employees, your transit officials, your police officers etc. are going to be overwhelmingly black. And because blacks operate at a vastly lower level of intelligence and probity than whites, such a city will sink into African-style incompetence and corruption, even in the complete absence of black racial preferences. But conservatives NEVER see or acknowledge this basic truth. Being liberals at their core, they only see the problem as procedural (caused by bad policies such as affirmative action), not as substantive (caused by the nature of black people).

Where, oh where could a city be found to validate Auster thesis of a city that is overwhelmingly Black (D.C. is not anymore, with Black people being forced out to Prince George's County and Baltimore) and that has a government full of municipal employees, transit officials, police officers, and other personnel paid via public funds which also is on the verge of total collapse?

Yes, you guessed it. Detroit.

We already know that more than 100 bus drivers in the Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) refused to work because "they were scared for their lives" after numerous attacks on the Black drivers by young Black people. Instead of driving their routes, they stayed in the Rosa Parks Transit Center (not to be confused with the Rosa Park Hempstead Transit Center in Long Island) without one employee realizing the irony of the situation.

The city is 89 percent Black, boasting a political structure that is entirely - and proudly, if not defiantly - Black. So, how well does the Detroit Department of Transportation's (DDOT) bus service perform? Not too difficult to surmise that, just like the city government, DDOT is perhaps the worst public transportation system in the nation:

After less than a week on the job, Detroit Department of Transportation CEO Ron Freeland painted a grim portrait of Detroit's bus service at a Monday City Council meeting.

DDOT's on-time performance is 65 percent, compared to the industry standard of 85 percent. Buses miss service on 33 percent of their stops every day. Freeland said the department's monthly parts repair bills far exceed national standards and that poor maintenance has forced the department to take on about 70 more buses than it needs.
The report-back comes after Mayor Dave Bing announced last week that Freeland would head DDOT, joining the private management team hired to run the bus department as the city looks to save money on its operating costs.

Detroit in January contracted bus operations the firm Parsons Brinckerhoff, which has subcontracted to a firm called Envisurage.
With the new management come drastic service cuts for DDOT riders. The department announced it will end 1 a.m to 4 a.m bus service and eliminate some routes beginning Saturday. More than 100 bus drivers and mechanics will be laid off.

A transportation system that is completely run by Black people, because Detroit is a city that is 100 percent a reflection of Actual Black Run America (ABRA); with both on the verge of collapsing:
But bus riders and drivers in Detroit say they don't know if the beleaguered system can stand any more pain. At a downtown Detroit bus stop, Toni Coleman feels frustrated. The bus is late again, and now she will be late to work, too.

"Now I'm having to get off work almost an hour earlier because I can't get on a bus at 5 o'clock," Coleman says. "The buses are too crowded, and they don't stop. Hours' worth of pay because of the changes in the bus system." 
Coleman is one of more than 100,000 Detroiters who depend on buses for daily travel. There have been fewer travel options of late, after the city cut overnight bus service and eliminated several routes. Unlike many major metropolitan areas, Detroit has a second, separate bus line that serves roughly 40,000 suburbanites and drops them off in the city during the morning and evening rush hours.
A glimpse of what life in a dying city looks like, a civilization incapable of taking care of itself were it not for the tax-payers of the state of Michigan subsidizing the Black metropolis of Detroit, and the federal grant and aid the city receives as if it were some pitiful third world nation.

But what is life like in a city whose heart is still beating, albeit courtesy of the primarily white tax-payer, whose transit system primarily moves Black people through the metropolis? MARTA's riders are 78 percent Black, and it should be a shock to anyone that the monetarily failing public transportation system in Atlanta is nothing but a jobs program for Black people (78 percent of the employees are Black in a city that is roughly half-white) as well as DC's Metro:
The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) board met on Monday and selected an executive search firm that will recruit MARTA's next general manager. This past December, MARTA's general manager Rick Simonetta resigned to become CEO of a Pennsylvania video technology firm. After passing over two well qualified African American MARTA vice presidents (Nat Ford, Executive Vice President for Operations & Development and Gloria Gaines, Vice President for Planning & Analysis, the MARTA board selected Jack Stephens as its interim general manager. Stephens was vice president of customer development. In its 29-year history, MARTA has had five general managers. All of them have been white and male. 
The Clayton County MARTA board representative headed the search committee. The committee report was called into question after it was brought out that a black-owned executive search firm had obtained the most votes in the committee, but after a recount it was later announced as having the second highest votes. Although split, the full MARTA board voted for a non-minority firm to run the search for a new general manager. "We don't trust MARTA's search committee process. Why is it that a Clayton County board member chaired the search committee? Why wasn't a Fulton or DeKalb MARTA board member, whose residents have been paying the one-cent MARTA tax for the past 25 years, selected to chair the committee, " stated Sherrill Marcus, an organizer with the Metropolitan Atlanta Transportation Equity Coalition (MATEC), a coalition of seventeen grassroots community organizations. 
MATEC members have opposed the MARTA fare hike that will take effect this January 1, 2001. They also emphasized that MARTA is a big business with an annual operating budget of over $300 million. Since 1979, MARTA has collected over $90.1 billion from the one-cent sales tax. The MARTA tax is collected only in the Fulton and DeKalb Counties. 
"We strongly feel that it's time that we had a black general manager at MARTA," said DeKalb NAACP director John Evans. Evans is a former MARTA board member. African Americans currently make up 75 percent of MARTA's riders. African Americans also comprise 78 percent of MARTA's 5,325 employees. "There are able African American transit managers around the country who could run MARTA," stated Robert D. Bullard, director of the Environmental Justice Resource Center. Bullard stressed the fact the current Secretary of the United States Department of Transportation is African American. The former administrator of the Federal Transit Administration, Gordon Linton, is also African American. African Americans head four of the country's 30 largest transit systems. African Americans hold the top transit positions at the Boston-MBTA (Robert H. Prince, Jr.), Baltimore MTA (Ronald L. Freeland), Detroit DOT (Sandra Bomar Parker), and Houston Metro (Shirley A. DeLibero). 
Why has MARTA never had a black general manager? There appears to be a "glass ceiling" at MARTA for African Americans. There is also strong evidence that all of the racial hurdles for African Americans at MARTA-from the selection of the current interim general manger to the selection of the executive search firm for the permanent general manager- have not been overcome. MARTA prides itself as an Equal Opportunity Employer. This principle needs to apply for all positions at MARTA, including the general manager position.

In a sane nation, the citizenry would be able to ride public transportation in a cheap, clean, and safe manner. As an alternative to costly commutes via car (in opportunity costs, gasoline, and time away from ones family), having effective public transportation is the best way to gauge the true strength and vitality of a community.

Looking at the state of public transportation in Black-Run America (BRA) - and in ABRA Detroit - it's obvious we aren't much of a nation at all. We are a nation dedicated to uplifting Black people in every vocation - and avocation - at the expense of the health of the overall nation. To admit Black failure - and culpability in augmenting that failure - would undermine the whole system.

The Washington Times, by publishing this expose of sheer Blackness in the METRO system in Washington D.C. has shown the way to defeating BRA: the pen is mightier than the sword.

A month after the Trayvon Martin killing, protests continue to mount, spurred on by the White House and President Obamablatantly attempting to incite the Democratic Party base and demoralize that of the GOP.

The shooting of Trayvon Martin has become the defining moment in the Obama Presidency. In Louisiana, State Rep. Austin Badon has stated that the National Guard should patrol New Orleans’ Bourbon Street again—not because of Hurricane Katrina looters, but because of high rates of black-on-black crime. The New York Times was appalled to find that the “killers and their victims are overwhelmingly young black men”. [New Orleans Struggles to Stem Homicides, By Campbell Robertson, December 7, 2011] black people cried foul when a new curfew was introduced in The Big Easy in early 2012, even though the law was enacted on their behalf.
  • In Chicago IL, President Obama’s home city, Democrats John Fritchey and LaShawn Ford have called for both military intervention and martial law because black-on-black crime/murder is rising.
  • Les Smith of the Memphis, Tennessee’s local Fox affiliate, reported that black-on-black murders were rising in bothNashville and Memphis:
Black on black killings have been on the rise in the Music City. The Washington D.C. based Violence Policy Center noted Nashville had 42 African American murders in 2008, with an even higher rate than Memphis in 2009. Nearly half the murder total can be pinpointed to the large public housing communities such as Napier and Tony Sudekum Homes.
Unlike Memphis where years of concerted effort by the city to pursue federal grants resulting in the abolishment of 5 infamous housing projects, Nashville has been slow in tearing down such violence-breeding enclaves
There’s a silver-lining to all this though: High rates of “urban” crime in St. Louis —invariably black-on-black—helps prepare Air Force trauma surgeons for the type of blunt wounds they’ll see in combat.
Similarly, high levels of black on black crime in Baltimore makes the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center an excellent place for training military doctors before they are deployed to conflict zones around the world.
But since Obama’s election, we’ve had nothing but “domestic violence” in communities across the country—with the rights of law-abiding citizens restricted due to the actions of, primarily, black males.
Looking at the landscape of the America in 2012, seeing how many cities require curfews to keep the peace, it is easy to discern the type of “civil unrest” McCain feared.  [ Note: From our we-told-you-so files, see The Riots Next Time? Why does Obama demand “soul-searching” over the death of Trayvon Martin, when every day in America there are hundreds of incidents that should cause all of us to stop and think?
If the eventual GOP nominee is smart, he’ll make this moment—when Barack Obama interjected himself into a sub judice situation whose details are still emerging—decisive in the 2012 race for the White House.
He will demand that President Obama explain why all those murdered black people (forget white people) in Detroit and elsewhere—killed by other black people – aren’t worthy of a “soul searching” moment.

We Shall Overcome

Can you feel it? It's in the air. You can almost taste it.

No, not the fallout from the Trayvon Martin racial-bomb that turned out to be a huge dud for Organized Blackness and those Disingenuous White Liberals (DWLs) foolish enough to believe that a "NO_LIMIT_NIGGA" was the rocket-fuel needed to propel the narrative into a different stratosphere.

No, it's not the sad story of 64 percent Black Baltimore (a city with one of the highest crime rates in America;  89 percent of those held in jail for their penchant for law-breaking are Black males), where the city is forced to sell-off landmarks and historic buildings - in hopes of meeting the budget - erected by a vastly different people than the Black population in charge of the city's future now, whose sons and daughters help make the Baltimore City Public Schools the worst in all of Maryland. It's not poverty that causes horrifically low test scores by these primarily Black students; it's that 87 percent of Baltimore City Public School students are Black.

No, it's the soon-to-be biggest story in the world: the takeover of the 89 percent Black Detroit by the state of Michigan and the placement of a emergency financial manager in charge of the city's fiscal restructuring. Suzette Hackney of The Detroit Free Press reported that Michigan's white governor Rick Snyder met with a hostile crowd in Detroit today, with many of the Black people chanting "We Shall Overcome"as the news of fiscal Armageddon become ominously clear:
Detroit's financial review team this afternoon declared that the city is under a financial emergency and no consent agreement between the city and state has been adopted, a move that forces Gov. Rick Snyder to appoint an emergency manager within the next 10 days under state law. 

State officials, however, are hopeful that an agreement can be reached before an emergency manager is named. 

"In that 10-day window, if a consent agreement can be adopted, that's an alternative for the governor and that's what he prefers to see," state Treasurer Andy Dillon said after the review team's meeting. 

Dillon said the financial review team, in a recommendation letter to Snyder, said they preferred to see the city and state enter into a consent agreement. He said there are three steps left in the process within the next 10 days: Mayor Dave Bing would have to accept the agreement, City Council would also have to vote to accept it and the governor would have to sign off as well. 

About 100 Detroiters turned out, many of them defiant and outraged over what they considered a hostile takeover of a predominately black city. 

As the meeting was about to begin at 3 p.m., most in the audience began chanting, "No takeover!"

The chanting and outbursts continued throughout the two-hour meeting, as security struggled to gain order.

For many in attendance, the state's threat to appoint an emergency manager stirs the bitter memories of unfair wages, forced segregation and other injustices against black people about a half-century ago.

"This is white on black crime," community activist and Minister Malik Shabazz said from a microphone during public comment. "This is white supremacy. Before you can take over our city, we will burn it down."

"We will burn it down," Minister Shabazz said. Again? Come on Black people. This is why white people gave the city to you in 1967 - because for five days ten percent of Detroit's Black population tried to burn it to the ground - leaving to rebuild their lives in what are some of the most prosperous suburbs in all of America (with the highest test scores too!).

The Detroit News reported this:

State officials say they hope to negotiate a consent decree with Detroit within 10 days after a raucous review team meeting concluded Monday with no deal in place.The team, which was required by law to report to Gov. Rick Snyder today, reiterated only that a severe financial emergency exists in Detroit and no consent decree has been adopted. The team sent a letter to Snyder indicating that negotiations toward a deal continue. 
Gov. Rick Snyder now has 10 days to rule on whether Detroit is in a fiscal crisis and say if a consent agreement has been adopted under Public Act 4, the controversial law that allows Michigan governors to appoint emergency managers with broad powers to run failing local governments. 
Officials from the state and Detroit are moving closer to a consent deal, state Treasurer Andy Dillon said during the meeting. 
An unruly crowd repeatedly shouted down Dillon as he attempted to explain the status of discussions. Crowd members chanted "no justice, no peace," "no takeover" and the song "we shall overcome." 
"This is the last day we have to act, so we're here today to address that," Dillon told the crowd. The review team was acting under during the last of a 60-day extension to report findings about Detroit's financial condition to the governor. 
"We have a 10-day window … it is our hope that within this window, we can complete our discussions with the city … and come to an agreement," Dillon said.Dillon stressed the proposed document currently before the review team is not a formal consent agreement under Public Act 4, but he said he believes both sides are "very close with respect to language." He praised the city for its progress in union concessions and other efforts to address its financial crisis. 
The review team found that a severe financial emergency exists in Detroit and no consent decree has been adopted. 
That was one of four conclusions it could report under Public Act 4, the controversial law under which emergency managers can be appointed to rule over finances of failing cities. Dillon said the review team could meet again Thursday and possibly Friday, with the hopes of getting an agreement approved by the city council and mayor by the end of the week. He said the proposed agreement would include a nine-member financial advisory board whose powers are still being debated, and the creation of a program manager position to carry out the city's financial plan. 
During public comment to the review team, residents lined up to blast the state for taking away the rights of Detroiters. 
Activist minister Malik Shabazz said black cities are under attack all over the state."We understand we have financial difficulties," Shabazz said. "Give us the help we want, need and deserve, not the help you want to impose on us. We don't want an emergency manager or a consent decree. This is white supremacy and we will fight you. 
"Before we let you take over our city we will burn it down first," Shabazz said.Ed McNeil, chief negotiator for AFSCME Council 25, said people have sacrificed and fought hard to bring the city back. 
"There's no kind of way in this world you should be taking anything from Detroit and its residents," McNeil said. "We intend to keep it our city. We intend to work in our city and progressing for our city."
And here's a hilarious anecdote from Detroit's Fox Affiliate:
Conrad Mallett, one of the state's first black Michigan Supreme Court justices, came under pointed criticism for cooperating with the white treasurer as the review board shaped its recommendation.
"You sit up there and you fix it for him, just like a good colored person," former Detroit Public Schools board member Marie Thornton told Mallett, now president of Sinai-Grace Hospital.
Mallett dismissed the complaints as a "family fight" within the city, which is 80 percent black. He added he's not mad at his critics but said they need to realize the review board's goal it to create a stable financial future for Michigan's largest city.A final deal remains up in the air in part because Detroit Mayor Dave Bing is hospitalized after having surgery over the weekend on a perforated intestine, said Dennis Muchmore, Snyder's chief of staff.
Doctors said the mayor likely would remain hospitalized for five to seven days, but would be able to perform some duties of his office. Bing's chief of staff and deputy mayor in his absence, Kirk Lewis, is handling negotiations with the governor's office.Detroit faces a $200 million budget deficit and could run out of cash by the end of May. The governor has declined to offer any short-term financial assistance until some agreement is reached to deal with the city's ongoing financial difficulties and its long-term liabilities for pensions, health care and bonds. Two ratings agencies this month downgraded Detroit's bond ratings.
"Everyone knows Detroit's finances are in very difficult shape," Snyder said.

"We Shall Overcome,"Black people sang. What exactly, is difficult to discern. Black ineptitude? The Visible Black Hand of Economics? Black incompetence in virtually every level of the city government of Detroit? Black crime in Detroit, which makes the city inhospitable to investors and urban pioneers?

The countdown is on. The invasion of Detroit is mere days away.
