|Dear God -- the myth of the 'liberal plantation' must be destroyed|
In the summer of 1963, as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, he delivered one of the most powerful speeches in our nation's history. Known for its famous line, "I have a dream," Dr. King concluded his speech with these words: "And when this happens, when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, 'Free at last, free at last! Thank God Almighty, we're free at last!'Runaway Slave.
So, is Black America free at last? Is it possible that a man can be enslaved in other ways besides chains and shackles? Do shouts for affirmative action and government intervention really help the black community? My position is that the Democratic Party has brought the demise of Black America. Currently, 95% of all blacks vote Democrat, and yet what do they have to show for it? 25% of blacks suffer from poverty conditions. 16% of blacks are unemployed and 30% of all abortions are black babies. Also, a majority of our inmates are Black Americans. "Why are we still thinking we are not free at last? What ideas are keeping us down?"
Rev. Bryant asks. For too long, we have been depending on other people for our success. We have to pursue our happiness; our happiness is not provided to us. If we are relying on someone else for our wellbeing, that in itself is a form of slavery." Rev. Bryant's conclusion? It's time to run. "Run away from economic slavery. Run toward the blessings of liberty. Let us remain strong in this fight. Run away from socialism; run away from progressivism.
And if you get tired, America ... RUN HARDER!" This painting is a beacon to all Americans, to free yourselves from the government bondage that enslaves your very soul. Be FREE of the old taskmaster that will offer you all the comforts if you will but do his bidding. Rise up and be great in the sight of God! YOU are the RUNAWAY SLAVE! ****100% of profits for "Runaway Slave" the painting, go to help CL Bryant Institute for Racial Understanding, U.S.A.
No. It's not right. The Democratic Party isn't bringing down black America -- black people are doing just fine at that, since they are responsible for individual abortions, making life choices that lead to poverty, and for engaging in individual criminality.
Even after black people were freed by Father Abraham, they were making life miserable for inner-city America. Roger Lane's "Roots of Violence in Black Philadelphia: 1860 - 1900" makes clear of that fact (blacks were only 3 - 4 percent of the population of Philly at the time):
Philadelphia's Afro-American murder rate was far higher than its over-all murder rate in the late nineteenth century. The black rate, as measured by the number of men and women actually tried for homicide, climbed unevenly from 6.4 per 100,000 residents annually during the 1860s to 11.4 during the 1890s. Many of these killing resulted directly from involvement in criminal activity, such as theft and vice, and some from an increasing resort to handguns to settle disputes. All three phenomena - crime, gun use, and homicide itself - were in turn related not only to each other but to the systematic exclusion of the black population from the opportunities opened up by the urban industrial revolution. (p. 134)"Increasing resort to handgun crimes?" That sounds suspiciously like today, when black people use guns for crimes at far higher rates than white people. And the Black Unemployable rate is nothing new...
Even compared to recent immigrants from Europe, the black population was excessively violent:
By 1874-1887 the rate of murder indcitments among the Irish had dropped to 3.1 percent per 100,00 of population, and by 1888-1901 to 1.8, or well below the citywide average for all groups of 2.1.What a second? New technology was something black people couldn't adapt to in the 1870 - 1900s? White suicides were higher? Black crime rates were higher in Philadelphia - remember, black people represented only 3 percent of the population of Philly then, as opposed to 44 percent today - even then?
The black experience was strikingly different in virtually all respects. It is nevertheless clear that the murder rate for blacks was several times higher than that for their Irish neighbors and rivals. Between 1860 and 1880, the annual rate of black murder trials was 8.7 per 100,000 of population. This rate was unique not only in its size but in its climb, reaching an average of 9.5 between 1881 and 1901.
The impact o all this on urban black behavior was to leave it in an essentially preindustrial state. What was missed even more than opportunity was the training, or the regimentation, provided and demanded by the new economic order, the kind of training that redirected the aggressive impulses of so much of the white population. Without this redirection, blacks typically remained where the majority had been before the Civil War. The new technology brought them only handguns, to add to the uncertainty of their lives. The new prosperity only multiplied the sense of deprivation, as immigrant neighbors no more qualified than they moved up and past them. Psychologically, when blacks felt frustration or aggression, they continued to direct their feelings outward rather inward. Not only was their murder higher than that for any other group, but their suicide rate was lower. No more than 20 black suicides were counted for the period as a whole compared to to 3092 white suicides. (p.141-142)
What about the "liberal plantation?"
It doesn't exist now, because it never, ever existed.
But here's the most powerful stat from Lane's book:
But the 1890s were a different era. The rate of black homicide accordingly jumped again to 11.4. It was by then five and half times higher than the trial rate for white Philadelphians, during the same period. The "Liberal Plantation" is a myth. Black people don't need to be "Runaway Slaves" to achieve some sort of economic sovereignty or free themselves from oppression and persecution. Once old Honest Abe freed slaves, they engaged in the same type of criminality (and were virtually unemployable) at rates that look suspiciously like they do today.
Black men and women in Philadelphia by the end of the nineteenth century were being tried for homicide at a rate higher than the official F.B.I. rate of 9.8 for the whole United States in 1980, as measured not by trials but by the far higher number of "crimes known to the police." (p. 143)
Once again, the city of Philadelphia provides a lesson in the historical inability for black people to assimilate to the civilization white people created in America.
That civilization is Western Civilization, which disappears wherever black people become the majority population and - after being democratically elected - are in complete political control of...
Black America has been free to engage in stereotypically black behavior for more than a century and a half... less than 30 year after they were granted their freedom, they were already acting as if Philadelphia in 1890 was Detroit in 2013.
