This website will serve to educate the general public on Black people and the Stuff That Black People Don't Like. Black people have many interesting eccentricities, which include disliking a litany of everyday events, places, household objects and other aspects of their everyday life.
Black people are an interesting subject matter and this website will chronicle the many problems in life that agitate this group of people.

Pity he didn't go with that title. Based on a growing amount of evidence - and Mein Obama's body of work and resume since taking office on Janurary 20, 2009 - he has done just that. No beer summit can change this fact.
A war by unconvential means
In March of 2012, you'll get that book. But it will be written by Paul Kersey. Help make all of this possible by making a donation to SBPDL - as outlined two days ago - to make the move to a permanent home off of Google. Your generous donation will help make this possible (easiest way is via PayPal in the upper right-hand corner of the site).
With the Democratic Party inexplicably abandoning the white working class - What's the Matter with Kansas? a Democratic operative once asked; they want to keep Kansas, Kansas you idiot - we are poised for a 2012 that will remind people that Real America still exists. To those in the Conservative Establishment inside the Beltway, remember that your days of running silly non-profits that accomplish nothing but serve only as a tax dodge are done.
We are entering a phase in America where the majority of Americans in many states (non-white citizens) are completely dependent on the government to subsist. These card-carrying, registered members of the Democratic Party - and soon to be majority of those who can vote - will never back candidates who want "limited government" and a return to personal responsibility when the government can provide the basic necessities for life. Well, the taxpayer can...
Later this week, we'll publish the article that serves as the launching pad to show to the millions - and millions - of Real Americans (and to those who have grown tired of the power of Black-Run America) that Obama's War on White America is real and that the only way way to restore concepts of freedom and liberty to this land is to acknowledge that it exists.
Sadly, those "conservatives" entrenched in the Beltway won't make the move to understand the implications of how the Sailer Strategy could move to restore some semblance of order to this nation.
Let's get real though: what are commonly called "Red States" or "Blue States" should be called "White States" and "Occupied America." Remember those famous Red/Blue maps for Bush-Gore in 2000 and McCain-Obama in 2008.
Could someone out there change the color of "red" counties to "white"; turn "blue" counties to "black." E-mail it to me at sbpdl1@gmail.com
A long-time reader e-mailed me on Saturday and said simply this:
"Thank you for what you do."
He then added this:
"You need to start making plans to host your own web site, have a dedicated server, and hire someone to build it using a simple content management system."
To help out, he pledged a sizable donation by Christmas (that will serve as the bulk of the necessary funds required for the next step in the evolution of SBPDL). I make no illusions about what this site is: SBPDL started as a joke, but it has morphed into something else. Something powerful, largely because of a dedicated readership that understands something is seriously wrong with this country.
In 2011, three books that carry the SBPDL banner into the world have been published; one more will be published before the end of the year (SBPDL Episode II). It will be the best one yet.
Writings from Paul Kersey have started to appear on other sites. They will continue to appear there, and on new ones as well.
It hasn't been an easy year, but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. When faced with obstacles and impediments, it is the rare person who dares fight on, who dares believe. Back in July, it was the readers of this site who kept things moving forward in a dark hour; it was the readers of this site - who are forming something of a "community" - that motivated me not only to continue, but to work even harder.
The day will come when the company who owns this blog makes a move to silence dissenters like OneSTDV, Steve Sailer, and SBPDL; when legislation is introduced that will silence even Vdare. Black-Run America (BRA) is evil, and it must be confronted. The foundational myths (Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr., the Tuskegee Airmen, Morgan Freeman) that hold the tongues of good people silent must be constantly bombarded.
Next week, the SBPDL shirt will finally come out; next week, the cover for SBPDL Episode II will also be unveiled. Chances are, our friends in Mainstream Media (MSM) might take notice.
SBPDL: Speaking up for the Real America
This week will be a powerful one at SBPDL. But before it begins, it is time to plant this seed in the the minds of all readers: there is something profound happening in America. Personally, I believe that the summer of 2011 showed that we as a nation aren't far from the dystopian future of The Hunger Games book and trilogy (prepare for the ultimate preview of that book/upcoming movie at SBPDL later this week).
Knowing that the company that owns many of the most important blogs on the Internet could move to strike, it's time to archive this site, purchase a new domain, and hire someone to design a professional site.
This site started as a joke; who's laughing now?
Start the 2011 Christmas season off with perhaps the most important gift you can make; the gift to SBPDL. You can make a secure donation through PayPal -- look in the upper right-hand corner of this site - which will go toward the design of the new site (having talked to a few designers, we need to raise around $5,000); or, you can write to SBPDL1@gmail.com and I'll send you a PO Box Number where you send a donation.
A number of very talented people leave thought-provoking comments here daily that only serve to enhance this site; I'd like to start having them write pieces at the new site, plus a forum feature, and more podcasts (circumstances have required me to hold off on new ones for few months).
Remember, any donation of $50 gets you two autographed copies of any of two of the three books already published; $75 or more gets you SBPDL Episode II before it is available anywhere else (Dec. 23); and $100 or more gets you all four books signed. They make a wonderful Christmas gift for that friend or relative of yours who has said something recently that makes you believe they're ready to join the ranks of those who can see.
The 2012 calendar is filled with many more books that are already in production (Opiate of America, Next Man in Hell, The Wrong Stuff, Human Shield, Who Needs Enemies?: Black-Run America's War on the Military; and a book that is near and dear to my heart, The City too Busy to Hate: 365Black in Atlanta.
It's ambitious, but for those who read SBPDL you should know that we mean business. For you new readers, picking up the three books already published is a great way to catch-up with those who can see and understand where the terms "Black-Run America," "Disingenuous White Liberal," and why we persist in using "365Black" here at SBPDL.
The time is now. It is my belief that 2011 was a profound year at SBPDL; with your help, we can start to lay the foundation for a 2012 that the Mayans couldn't have predicted.
Thanks. And more importantly, thank you for reading.
The popularity of Showtime’s Dexter, a drama about Dexter Morgan (played brilliantly by Michael C. Hall), by day a blood splatter analyst for the Miami Metro Police and by night, a sociopathic vigilante killer, has forced CBS, ABC, NBC, and Fox to scramble to replicate this disturbing hit by introducing similarly themed programs to their networks.
Where once television was littered with cheap reality and game shows, the major networks are seeing the big numbers that thriller/dramas on Showtime, HBO, and AMC (which airs The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and Breaking Bad) are pulling in and beginning to copy this formula.
The highest rated shows are on CBS, with programs and series detailing police and crime scene investigators (CSI, CSI: Miami, NCSI, CSI: LA, etc.) regularly providing the highest Nielsen ratings.
At the box office, the movies that consistently bring about the biggest returns are comic book movies (Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and The Dark Knight have all been huge winners for Hollywood recently).
Merging the desire to see vigilante justice and criminal investigations on television, with a mix of superhero panache, Fox has picked up a pilot commitment that will detail the saga of perhaps the most right-wing character in the history of comics, The Punisher:
FOX recently picked up The Punisher with a pilot commitment from former CriminalMindsshowrunner Ed Bernero. The series is seen as an hour-long procedural with – wait for it…a new take on the character! That’s right, arguably the most cut-and-dry character in Marvel’s pantheon of heroes is yet again the recipient of what could be a make over that misses the mark.
This time around, as opposed to being a decorated Vietnam veteran with a serious mad-on for criminal types, The Punisher sees Frank Castle as a detective with the New York City Police Department who takes to the streets in his off time, in search of justice as the vigilante known as The Punisher.
Marvel Comics resident gun-toting vigilante (created when Deathwish and Dirty Harry popularity were at their zenith) has been the subject of three big screen adaptations (a 1989 version with Dolph Lundgren; a 2004 attempt at creating a franchise with Thomas Jane; and a 2008 version with Ray Stevenson that should have been straight to DVD) that have never found the right chord with an audience. Yet the desire to see Frank Castle wage war on the criminal underground has never abated, despite three failed attempts.
There’s just something about a white guy rectifying the wrongs of society (and those who the legal system fails to punish) that resonates with the general public. See The Boondock Saints for more on this concept.
Perhaps television is the perfect medium to tell the story Castle, whose iconic “Skull” shirt/logo has inspired real-life Special Forces soldiers from Norway, and his never-ending war on crime. The popularity of Dexter presupposes that a properly scripted vigilante story can garner a huge audience; removing the restrictions of a 90-minute movie to tell a Punisher story will give the audience time to understand Castle’s motivations and build-up story-lines and antagonists that viewers will enjoy seeing him dispatch.
But there exists a problem in setting the television show in New York City; the people committing the overwhelmingly majority of murders, rapes, property offenses, muggings, and assaults in the city aren’t the same ones routinely shown as the perpetual “great white defendant” in Law and Order.
The Washington Post’s Jonathan Capehart stumbled upon this unpleasant truth, this distressing reporting (from an analysis of crime statistics):
"In short, 95.1 percent of all murder victims and 95.9 percent of all shooting victims in New York City are black or Hispanic. And 90.2 percent of those arrested for murder and 96.7 percent of those arrested for shooting someone are black and Hispanic. I don’t even know where to begin to describe the horror I still feel looking at those numbers. But the word ‘hunted’ comes to mind."
Based on real NYC crime stats, this is who The Punisher would actually punish
Black and Hispanic people have a near exclusivity on crime in New York City, but you can bet the farm that The Punisher show on Fox will show Frank Castle battling your stereotypical multi-racial criminal gangs found only on television or film (like in the NYC gang movie The Warriors). Though statistics show that less than 10 percent of gang members in America are white – and this includes the FBI classifying the pathetic Insane Clown Posse “Juggalos” as a gang - Castle will probably mow through plenty of imaginary Caucasian bad guys on the show.
One wonders if Frank Castle will be privy to the 2010 NYPD’s NYPD’s enforcement report, “Crime and Enforcement Activity in New York City,” which showed that:
blacks made up a staggering 60.9% of murder suspects (not arrests), 52.6% of rape suspects, 52.4% of other felony sex crime suspects, 70.8% of robbery (mugging) suspects and 54.9% of felonious assault suspects;
Hispanics made up 30.7% of murder suspects, 33.8% of rape suspects, 31.2% of other felony sex crime suspects, 23.3% of robbery suspects and 32.5% of felonious assault suspects; and
whites made up 4.9% of murder suspects, 8.9% of rape suspects, 12.7% of other felony sex crime suspects, 4.6% of robbery suspects and 8.2% of felonious assault suspects.
How will that hedge-fund in Montgomery react if The Punisher television show actually reflects real criminal patterns in New York City? Well, the precedent for distorting the truth of crime in America has already been set by the Fox Network, with the creator of the popular COPS show admitting he tried to paint a rosy picture of the Black and Hispanic communities in America by deliberately showing a disproportionate amount of white criminals:
John Langley, the creator of the long-running FOX program, COPS. Langley says he's irked by some media critics who accuse the show of perpetuating stereotypes about "people of color" by depicting a disproportionate percentage of minority suspects. Au Contraire, Langley protests, he intentionally shows an inordinate number of white suspects in order to side-step the facts. "I show more white people than, statistically, what the truth is."
Even Showtime’s Dexter– set in Miami, where crime is also monopolized by Black and Hispanics – has primarily shown the eponymous hero target only white bad guys. Perhaps The Punisher is doomed from the start; if it goes the reality route, that hedge-fund in Montgomery with the healthiest balance sheet in Americ, The Color of Change, La Raza and the NAACP will immediately attack the show as racist, though it only reflects actual crime rates in the city.
If it goes the comic book route, it will more than likely fail for the same reason NBC’s abomination called The Cape did: over-the-top cartoonish white villains that are best kept on the big screen.
This much is known: Frank Castle is a white guy; statistics show that it is primarily Black and Hispanic people that make New York City unsafe. Actually, it’s Black (and Hispanic) people that make any city in America unsafe to live in.
Remember: The FBI's 2010 Uniform Crime Reports showed that 53.1 percent of known murderers in 2010 were Black people (44 percent were white, but the FBI lumps in those of Hispanic/Mexican descent into this pale category). Think about that for a second: already, more than 1 million Black males are in prison; Black people are only 13 percent of the overall US population, with a significant portion under the age of 12. Thus, the bulk of the violent crime in America is committed by (and this is an estimate) roughly 2-3 percent of the US population.
Then again, watching The First 48 on A&E offers a glimpse of the kind of disreputable characters that a Detective Castle would go after at night.
But The First 48 isn't a scripted show. It's real life. And, as we know, truth has a well-known racial bias. So you can bet The Punisher TV show will be littered with Black Fictional Images.
PK Note: Before you read the following article, please read this article at Vdare that discusses the Iron Bowl game between Auburn University and the University of Alabama. The game used to be played in Birmingham, and loyal SBPDL readers should know that Jefferson County recently declared the largest municipal bankruptcy in American history. After an integrated Southern California team defeated an all-white Alabama team at Legion Field in Birmingham back in 1970, the late Los Angeles Times sports writer Jim Murray -- who had long been a critic of Bear Bryant and was instrumental in keeping BAMA from winning the 1966 National Title -- wrote that the final score itself, he emphasized, "was less a defeat for Alabama than a victory for America. Birmingham will never be the same again. And, brother, that's a good thing."
Fitting that Los Angeles is no longer an American city; more fitting that Jefferson County -- home to Birmingham -- recently declared bankruptcy. America hasn't been the same since that very day in 1970.
Few eyes will be on the state of Mississippi’s marquee football game this weekend, save those alumni and students from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and Mississippi State.
Heroes of another age
The rivalry game is called the Egg Bowl, and a lame-duck Houston Nutt will lead a limping Ole Miss team (2-9) to combat a Mississippi State (5-6) vying for its 16th bowl game in the university’s history.
Sports Illustrated wrote this about the Egg Bowl in a dismissive article published back in 1991:
If college football is truly allegorical, then here is the title of its harshest lesson: Ole Miss vs. Mis'ippi State. It is perhaps the saddest rivalry in all of Division I, a struggle for pride in a state where pride comes hard, then runs too deep and stays too long.
"Poor old whupped-down Mis'ippi" is what the writer Willie Morris calls his home state. "The last people you want to take a whuppin' from is somebody else from Mis'ippi," says comedian Jerry Clower, a former Mis'ippi State player.
Considering their state's paltry resources, the University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University—their formal names—probably shouldn't even be separate institutions, let alone schools that support separate football teams in the high-rent Southeastern Conference. "This state is just too little, in terms of people, and too poor to sustain a major football rivalry," says Morris, who wrote The Courting of Marcus Dupree, a 1983 portrait of the state's sociological relationships with football and black players.
And yet the demographics of Ole Miss and Mis'ippi State—homogenous as they might seem from the outside—are more socially opposite than those of Alabama and Auburn, Florida and Florida State, or Texas and Texas A&M. So Mis'ippi society can't live without what it can't afford.
Ole Miss is the last bastion of the traditions of the old Southern gentry. Its teams are nicknamed Rebels; its fans still wave Confederate flags despite official disavowal of the symbol by the university and its alumni association; its marching band still plays Dixie. The very term Ole Miss is not a contraction of "Old Mississippi," but an old slave term—a plantation owner's daughter was called "the young miss" and his wife "the old miss
Beginning with Kentucky in 1966, the SEC slowly began to admit black football players. In 1972, Georgia, LSU and Ole Miss became the last of the league's teams to integrate. But even as Confederate flags were becoming more emblematic of virulent racism than of valor and mourning, the Rebel faithful continued to cling to their symbols. The school's history, to say nothing of the flags, left talented black football players (on which the other SEC members were loading up) less than eager to play at Ole Miss. The era of coach Johnny Vaught, who for more than two decades enjoyed a recruiting lock on segregated Mississippi—where it had been considered the duty of athletic white youths to play for the glory of the state's "way of life"—had finally ended.
Twenty years later, Ole Miss lays prostrate, her proud traditions rooted in Mississippi’s past removed, considered vestigial organs by an unelected Disingenuous White Liberal power structure trying to make the university respectable in the eyes of Black-Run America (BRA).
No longer does the band play Dixie. No longer does the Confederate Flag wave in the stands (Tommy Tuberville can be thanked for that). No longer is the school even known as the “Rebels,” but as the “Black Bears.”
Were it not for a few years of Eli Manning (son of beloved former Rebel quarterback Archie) quarterbacking the Rebels to bowl games between 2000 – 2003, Ole Miss fans would have few proud memories to savor, save tailgates on the famed Grove.
The band can’t even play Elvis Presley’s Dixie With Love because fans and alumni would chant ‘the South will rise again’ at the conclusion of the song, which – according to the Chancellor of Ole Miss – reeks of “Segregationist Baggage.”
The “Ghosts of Mississippi” will always haunt the state, and though the university recruits almost exclusively Black athletes to represent the school on the football field, recently fired Nutt continues to blame the specter of white racism on the misfortunes he faced:
In an interview with Yahoo Sports Radio, Nutt blamed Mississippi's checkered racial past from stopping him from recruiting more out-of-state athletes, saying that some recruits and their families had questions about racism before they even visited the school.
Fired from his job after back-to-back losing seasons, Nutt has three games left with the team.
"You recruit a young man from out of state and they come to Mississippi, the first thing that hits their mind is, you know, 'I've seen the show "Mississippi Burning."' Or, there are questions from their mom: 'Are there racial problems?' Once they get here, you put that to rest, but that's the perception," Nutt said. "Once recruits visit the campus firsthand, they see it's a safe place that doesn't have racial problems."
Despite the problems that Nutt faced, Ole Miss had no shortage of out-of-state talent because 65 percent of the 115 players on the roster are not from Mississippi.
Sports writer Neal McCready with www.rivals.com said he doesn't think Mississippi's history is a big factor in the Rebels' recruiting.
"I don't know that I've heard any empirical evidence either in the state of Mississippi that, at least not recently, leads me to believe that he lost out on an African-American recruit because of things that happened 50 years ago. I don't really believe that to be the case," McCready said.
Not only that, but Ole Miss is a majority Black football team (though the school is majority white), which completely contradicts Nutt’s idiotic claims. Then again, so is Mississippi State (famously under Jackie Sherrill, MSU success was predicated upon recruiting low- IQ, Black Junior College transfers), one of those programs like Georgia Tech, West Virginia, Oregon, and Virginia Tech that seems to only recruit Black players to play quarterback now.
At least the school got some positive publicity with the 2009 film, The Blind Side. In Michael Lewis book of the same name, we learn that many of Michael Oher’s (the Black inner-city Memphis native adopted by the White Ole Miss alumni family) Black teammates didn’t care about academics or have pride in the school that was providing them a free education that their athletic ability alone justified.
Once Ole Miss had a proud football tradition (only 13 of the 33 bowl game appearances for the school came after the integration of the Rebels in 1972); of course, this was when the team only played white players and actually won Southeastern Conference (SEC) and national championships. There was even a riot on the campus back in the early 1960s to stop the integration of the school.
A mini-Civil War erupted between citizens and students of the Oxford school over James Meredith’s coerced enrollment.
James H. Meredith, a Negro, enrolled in the University of Mississippi today and began classes as Federal troops and federalized units of the Mississippi National Guard quelled a 15-hour riot.
A force of more than 3,000 soldiers and guardsmen and 400 deputy United States marshals fired rifles and hurled tear-gas grenades to stop the violent demonstrations. Throughout the day more troops streamed into Oxford. Tonight a force approaching 5,000 soldiers and guardsmen, along with the Federal marshals, maintained an uneasy peace in this town of 6,500 in the northern Mississippi hills.
Then, the state actually had pride in her past; now, every tradition of the school has been uprooted so that a team of majority Black players can be recruited and win two or three games a season. Of course, talented white high school players in Mississippi and other contiguous southern states go unnoticed by SEC coaches who only equate “Speed” and “talent” with melanin-enriched individuals. Just ask the Green Bay Packers white receiver Jordy Nelson how many scholarship offers he got.
Looking at how white running back Jacob Hester was treated at Louisiana State University, Peyton Hillis at Arkansas (and in the NFL) and how Tre Smith and Heath Evans were treated at Auburn University, it’s obvious the situation has been inverted; SEC football is predominately Black, meaning that it is the waning number of whites trying to maintain some semblance of integration at schools where the student body population is almost always 90 percent white.
Perhaps inadvertently, Michael Oriard let slip a crucial point in his book Bowled Over: Big-Time College Football from the Sixties to the BCS Era in regards to all that was lost in the South when integration hit Ole Miss and other SEC schools. On page 61, he writes:
The integration of SEC football was more momentous for white southerners than for black, resulting in the loss of a bastion of white southern masculinity but bringing a compensating benefit in the national stature of conference teams through the prowess of black athletes.
This quote has some contradictions in it (all-white Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss, LSU, Tennessee, Georgia Tech – though they left the SEC in the 60s – and especially the University of Alabama, were some of the top programs in the nation that consistently vied for and won national titles without the benefit of having Black athletes on their rosters), but it gets to the heart of why white southerners have allowed their traditions to be trampled on; the perceived and completely artificial belief that only Black athletes can win championships.
Worse, the predominate white student body of SEC schools must lower standards (both academic and moral) to accommodate the Black presence on campus; in the case of Ole Miss, they must remove every last vestige of their heritage.
In an important discussion on race and college football at View from the Right, Lawrence Auster made an invaluable point that gets to the heart of the problem of college athletics:
Southerners put all this energy and collective passion into a school sport, while passively allowing the Hispanicization, Islamization, and de-Europeanization of their country. Either their football mania is a compensation for no longer being allowed to defend their culture, or it's a huge distraction from defending their culture. Either way it seems the height of decadence: all these white people madly cheering on their football teams (whether the players are white or black, it doesn't matter), all these whites being transported by the passions of "football patriotism," even as whites are being steadily degraded into a minority in their own country. These whites don't put one billionth of the energy into defending their threatened culture and civilization that they put into cheering their football teams. That these teams consist largely of black thugs only intensifies the tragedy.
And to think, all this has happened in a state where more than 90 percent of whites voted for John McCain in 2008.
But because we can no longer have an “American Identity” or “Southern Identity” (as James Kirpatrick showed, such a thing would be ‘racist’) we must adopt to having an identity in Ole Miss, which must have any traces of its Confederate past completely expunged, since only Black athletes can provide the key to victory.
Or the key to an embarrassing two win season.
There is a correlation that must be pointed out now: when Ole Miss had an all-white football team, the student body and state leaders were prepared to go to war with the Federal Government over demands for integration.
Now, with a pathetic integrated team consisting of largely unemployable Black thugs, the children and grandchildren of those same proud Mississippians can’t even muster the shouting of “the South will rise again.”
And it is for this reason that America can not rise again, with our future inexplicably tied to a trivial contest.
Conspiracy theory? Yes, this is a still photo from the $2 Waffle Maker brawl at Wal-Mart
There are days where you realize how far removed from normal society you have become and it is these precious moments that you understand why being part of the ranks of Those Who Can See helps keep you safe. More importantly, sane, because the day will come when this era comes to a crashing halt.
Black Friday has once again passed into the history books (though economists will continue to look at the sales data from the day after Thanksgiving to determine if consumer spending was flat), but not before providing another glimpse into life at the end of history.
Nothing though can prepare one to truly understand the hilarity of Black Friday like a good, old fashioned Royal Rumble over a $2 waffle maker at, you guessed it, Wal-Mart.
So how do you save America? Banish anyone from this land who dared shop on Black Friday from polite society -- we hear Haiti is nice this time of year -- and let all of those who engaged in the Hunger Games (if you haven't read this book, do so immediately as SBPDL will be providing an essay soon on this important trilogy) assault on the $2 waffle maker at Wal-Mart use their newly procured device to cook for them.
Last thought: why hasn't some enterprising Black politician complained on MSNBC that using the term "Black Friday" somehow demeans Black people? Seems like an easy way to garner easy publicity... wage war on using the color "Black" as a synonym for negativity, like Black ice, Black holes, and Black Friday.
So next year, if a Black politician begins a crusade to turn "Black Friday" into "Race Not Provided" Friday, realize the AP got to them first.
Real America is growing increasingly ready for action
Visiting a store dedicated to peddling Christmas decorations 365 days of the year, I had an epiphany. Looking at the miniature Christmas Villages on display, depicting a quintessential Normal Rockwell American town - that seems like a phantasmagoria in our world today where the Federal government deliberately seeks to place refugees or Section 8 Housing in the dwindling number of Whitopias to disrupt the peace and serenity of found there - it dawned on me that people display these in their homes for a deliberate, perhaps unconscious reason; this is the America they long for; white picket fences, good neighbors, Christmas carols, safe streets and empty highways, and a future filled with promise instead of the uncertainty we face today.
With Thanksgiving approaching, it's time we at SBPDL let you know how thankful we are for readers of this site that continue to put up with our war on college football (and sports) and visit here daily. The growth of this site - compared to last year - is mind-blowing, and that's something we - I'm - thankful for. Doing this site is dangerous, but realizing that there are still millions - tens of millions - of people in this country who long for an earlier time when those Norman Rockwell paintings were an everyday reality, well, a powerful sense of duty and drive to write SBPDL seems almost obligatory.
Lawrence Auster recently published a simple, concise breakdown of what I have dubbed Black-Run America (BRA), and I'd like to re-post it here. In talking about the reluctance by the media to admit that Flash Mobs are actually Mahogany Mobs, he writes:
[But] The current reality, in which the blackness of blacks is relentlessly pushed into our faces when it advances blacks' interests or blacks' collective ego, but is covered up when it does not, is also extremely odd, and yet everyone takes it for granted. No one in mainstream America questions it."
Because Disingenuous White Liberals (DWLs) have tied all of their progressive agenda into uplifting Black people from the chains of Jim Crow - interestingly, almost 1/3 of Black males, by their own actions, put those chains back on - Real Americans have been unable to launch an effective counter-measure against these societal changes for more than 50 years.
On this Thanksgiving Eve, as many good people across this land read political manifestos by aspiring Presidential candidates - or fight horrible traffic caused by white people having to flee the Black Undertow and the unnecessary addition of millions of immigrants who concentrate in large cities - let SBPDL supply a small list of action items that, if adopted by the ever-increasing (but reluctant to admit it) white party, could start to roll-back some of the insanity we see in BRA.
1. Restore the right of Restrictive Covenant that will forever end the ability of the Black Undertow to overwhelm cities and counties, forcing real Climate Change.
2. Fight to end Affirmative Action once and for all. It's that simple. Oh, and end the nonsense known as "Disparate Impact."
3. Understand that the rest of world is preparing for a post-American future by investing heavily in building what are called "Aerotropolis'." Conversely, the failures of Detroit and Birmingham provide the primary answer as to why tourism is down in America (who really wants to see interchangeable American big cities with no culture, save Knockout King played members of Mahogany Mobs hoping to get on WorldStarHipHop?) and showcase why this nation is seen as obsolete in long-term strategies for global trade.
3B. A Federal takeover of ABC, and using this network to only air videos from WorldStarHipHop, to show exactly where Welfare/TANF, EBT cards, Free Lunch Programs in schools, and other forms of government subsidies go to help raise. The Black Undertow is largely the creation of government handouts - more than 50 percent of all murders in the United States were committed by Black males (less than five percent of the US population) - and people must be aware of where government are going. Remember,we could have been on Mars...
4. Knowing the reality of No. 3, abolish the Department of Education and end the war on the racial gap in educational achievement. Start tracking students at a young age and develop programs that mentor the 'gifted students' instead of investing huge sums of money trying to figure out why certain segments of population are disciplinary problems.
5. File an anti-trust suit against ESPN and break up that monopoly.
6. College Athletic Departments are considered "non-profits," sense they have some sort of convoluted educational mission. Thus, college football head coaches are considered executives of the most lucrative non-profits in America; end this tax-dodge, where millions of boosters continue to provide lavish funding toward.
7. Fight to end Section 8 Housing.
8. A moratorium on all immigration, coupled with actively expelling all illegal aliens (and legal immigrants) who have been found guilty of crimes against Real American's.
9. Began Project Go Home by working with the states that the Federal government is suing (because they refuse to enforce our immigration laws) to pass tough laws against those who employ illegal aliens. Illegal aliens are leaving Arizona, Georgia, and Alabama, because it is feasible to enforce our laws - that the Department of Justice is suing over! - and the increased financial strain on state and local budgets can be solved.
10. Because more than 50 percent of murders in this country where committed by less than 5 percent of the population in 2010 (yes, Black males, we mean you because "guns don't kill people, dangerous minorities do") enact massive racial profiling in major urban areas. Because the majority of those killed by Black people are Black people (because white people and other racial groups do everything possible to avoid living near Black people), this extra policing should work to increase the quality of life for all Black people.
11. Enact the "Castle Law" in every state.
12. Enact term limits immediately for Congress at: only one four year term; for senators, only one six year term.
13. Fight to overturn "Hate Crime" laws.
14. End all "diversity" initiatives in the military and in the Federal government.
15. Break up Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Abolish HUD.
16. Re-open The House of Un-American Activities Committee on all DWLs ensconced in academia, the media, corporate America, the Federal government, and Hollywood. Real America deserves better than BRA.
17. Conduct studies as to why public transportation in America works in some cities and doesn't in others. Once the reality that Black people and their behavior keeps Real Americans from utilizing this sane mode of transportation, consider ways to fix this problem.
18. Put the military on the border. Prepare to wage war on the Mexican drug cartel utilizing Predator Drone strikes. Stabilize Mexico's government so that the tens of millions of illegal aliens in America can return to a nation in need of their labor.
19. Grant asylum to white South Africans fleeing the tyranny of the African National Congress (ANC). Let them settle in Detroit and other failed, majority Black cities. Declare an "Enterprise Zone" there and in less than one year you'll have a world class again.
20. Grant asylum to Europeans fleeing the tyranny of a cradle-to-grave 'nanny state' that is the European Union, which actively supports the rights of radical Mohammedans over the indigenous population.
There. You won't see any of these ideas broached in any political manifesto from a 2012 Presidential candidate, but this is how you restore freedom and liberty to America; by rolling back BRA, which makes freedom and liberty available exclusively to Black people and their DWL enablers.
A new survey of venture capitalists shows little has changed in the area of diversity since the first poll was conducted three years ago by the National Venture Capital Association and Dow Jones VentureSource.
Not surprisingly, the profession is dominated by males, specifically white men. Of the more than 460 respondents identifying themselves as investors, 89% were men, and 11% were women. The 2008 survey consisted of 86% men and 14% women.
When looking at race, 86% of investors identify themselves as Caucasian, 10% as Asian and 1% as African American. In the 2008 study, 88% were white. Combining gender and race, 76% of participants were white males, compared with 77% three years ago.Read VentureWire’s complete story, which details some efforts to diversify the industry.
This tragedy is punctuated further by Gawker.com's serious article bemoaning the utter horror of living in a nation where Black (well, Hispanic too) contributions are limited to the social construct of Black supremacy in sports and TheMaury Povich Show. Here's what Gawker wrote:
The National Venture Capital Association has completed its 2011 census. Now we all know the business of doling out money to tech startups is a pasty one—right? we're all clear on this, yes?—but the association this year trumpets "signs of increasing ethnic diversity." So, take a wild guess at the combined percentage of blacks and Latinos among venture capitalists.
Did you guess two percent? If so, congratulations, you win another several decades of continued de facto exclusion and OMG HOW DARE YOU CALL ME A RACIST push back. After surveying 600 VC professionals, NVCA found the industry to be 87 percent white, 9 percent Asian, and 2 percent black or Latino. The low numbers of blacks and Latinos apparently precluded even breaking out separate tallies, even though these are the two largest U.S. ethnic groups after whites, constituting 16 and 12 percent of the overall national population, respectively.
The NVCA's president Mark Heesen wrote, "The future composition will be predicated on a variety of market factors.... Ideally, we would like to see a professional base that reflects the entrepreneurs in which we invest, one that is robust and diverse in terms of gender, ethnicity, nationality and age." Ha ha, yes, hopefully the future world of venture investors will be as wonderfully diverse as the current world of venture capital recipients. Dare to dream.
Across the country, Black kids aren't just being abandoned by their sperm donor father, but by an education system that just can't nurture away nature. How will they ever grow up to be venture capitalists in anything save concocting elaborate prison distribution systems for smuggled contraband - and manipulating the price of cigarettes and other supplies - that would make even the wise supply chain management guru blush?
Black people don't like small butts. Across the world, Black people believe "miracle" procedures to enhance their god-given gluteus maximus to shockingly embarrassing gargantuan proportions will increase their chances of landing the right guy or break into the hip hop/rap video industry:
The British student who died after jetting to America for an illegal 'butt enhancement' operation thought having a shapelier backside would make her a Hip Hop star.
Claudia Aderotimi, 20, believed a 'bigger booty' would help in her quest to appear in more music videos, her distraught friends have claimed.
In Newark, where hospitals are no stranger to Black victims of Black assailants who have placed bullets - largely unwarranted - into their body, six women tried to do some dry walling in their posterior:
Six women from the Essex County area who wanted fuller bottoms ended up in hospitals after receiving buttocks-enhancement injections containing the same material contractors use to caulk bathtubs, officials said.
The women checked into hospitals in the county after their procedures, apparently administered by unlicensed providers, went horribly wrong, state health officials said. The women underwent surgery and were given antibiotics. No arrests have been made
Well, now a Black male - posing as a female - in Miami has had his burgeoning practice of buttocks enhancement shutdown:
A Miami Gardens transgender woman is facing charges of practicing medicine without a license after police say she injected a patient's rear with everything but the kitchen sink in an illegal cosmetic surgery procedure.
Oneal Ron Morris, 30, was arrested Friday after an investigation by Miami Gardens Police and the Florida Department of Health.
According to police, the victim saw Morris in May and was injected in her buttocks with a substance consisting of cement, "Fix a Flat," mineral oil and super glue.
The amateur incision was then sealed with super glue, police said. The victim was later hospitalized with a serious medical condition as a result of the injections.
Ever seen the Mark Wahlberg film Invincible? I've always believed that this movie - the story of 30-year-old Vince Papale who became a receiver/special teams player for the Philadelphia Eagles after impressing coaches at an open tryout - and Miracle are Disney apologizing for the lies they promulgated in Remember the Titans. Purchasing the book the film is based on led me to this passage that was left out of the script (Invincible, p. 84), where Papale talks about the open tryouts for the Eagles and the blistering 4.5 40 time he posted. One of the position coaches didn't see him run the time, so he was on the verge of being left behind:
I was being shut for reasons I didn't know. Unlike the decathlon, I couldn't let this opportunity pass. For once I stood up from myself. I yelled out, "What is the criteria?"
The coach, who had begun to walk away, turned around and shot me a look. He couldn't believe I was challenging him.
"We're taking the fastest forty times," he said.
"I ran a four five, that was the fastest forty time here," I said.
"Yeah, but I've never seen a white guy run that fast. My assistant must have timed you wrong," he said to me.
"Give me another chance," I said, stepping forward.
Papale tells how four coaches timed his run this time. All the clocks read 4.5 when he finished. The motivational story of Invincible would never have been told, had Papale not said "give me another chance," and he would have been denied the opportunity for success because of the conditioned belief that white guys can't run. It is indisputable that Black people - well, Black people of West African descent - hold the top 200 times in the 100 meter dash. But this does not necessarily mean that ALL Black people are fast, and that they alone hold a monopoly on 'speed'; conversely, there are white athletes, like Papale, whose athleticism was questioned as a 'mistake' because of the widespread belief that a lack of melanin means some kind of 'speed' deficiency. It all starts at the high school, when talent scouts - representing Rivals and Scout.com - evaluate potential blue-chip recruits and hand out 'star' ratings. Rarely does a white athlete at a 'skilled position' (running back, wide receiver, safety, or corner back) receive more than a 3 out of 5. Tom Lemming, the founding father of recruiting guides, told Michael Lewis in The Blind Side that white high school athletes were discriminated against by college scouts and coaches because they couldn't possibly be as a fast as Black athletes. He told the same thing to The Chicago Sun Times; he told the same thing to the South Bend Tribune. White guys can never be fast. It's a conditioned stereotype. When fans of college football teams see white players at skill positions, they instinctively believe their team is at a disadvantage and that the white player is a liability. Back in 2002, the Kentucky Wildcat started three white wide receivers (who all stood out, as few of the 12-member Southeastern Conference - SEC - schools start one white wide receiver) including the super talented Derek Abney. The Black players dubbed them "The Snow Storm":
The Wildcats' all-white starting receiving corps of Aaron Boone, Derek Abney and Tommy Cook has combined for 77 catches, 1,235 yards, 13 touchdowns and one catchy nickname. Seems some of the black players on the team have jokingly referred to the trio as "The Snow Storm." Lead storm trooper Abney, generously listed at 5-10 and 172 pounds, now has returned five kicks for touchdowns this year, after taking back two punts last week against Mississippi State. White Lightning is averaging 19.2 yards every time he touches the ball and is the only Division I-A player with at least 450 yards in receptions, punt returns and kickoff returns. His six career kick-return TDs ties the SEC record set by Vanderbilt's Lee "Long Gone" Nalley in the 1940s. "At one particular point it amazed me how tough this kid is," coach Guy Morriss said. "He's taken some shots, and he'll bounce back up like he's made out of Flubber, almost. It's almost like he's sending back a message to the guy that hit him, 'That didn't hurt me.' "
Abney, like so many white receivers before and after him, never got a real shot at the National Football League (NFL), where receivers like Terrell Owens - who recently had an arrest warrant out for failure to pay child support - are lauded by fans, coaches, and analysts for their "speed" and antics on the field that draw attention to themselves. Drawing attention to themselves is something that that the white receiver (only 15 percent of the receivers in the NFL are white) has a tendency to do, as primarily Black defensive backs laugh when they line up to guard a "white boy." This article from Sports Illustrated back in 1991 illustrates the problem perfectly:
Brian Hartline: One of the NFL's most underrated players
The Taunts start early for Phoenix Cardinal wide receiver Ricky Proehl on most fall Sundays. "Hey, slow white boy!" opposing cornerbacks scream at him. "You ain't going anywhere today. You ain't catching nothing!"
Proehl thinks the Philadelphia Eagle defensive backs are the loudest, but they aren't alone in singling him out—Proehl's one of only five white wide receivers who were starters for most or all of last season. "Most cornerbacks take it personally when they get beat by a white guy," Proehl says. "Even in practice, when I beat a corner deep, I get compliments. It's like I'm not supposed to do it."
The preference for blacks is not restricted to the NFL. "When I was in high school trying to get a college scholarship, most of the college coaches would shy away when they found out I was white," says Proehl. And according to New York Jet assistant coach Kippy Brown, when he was a Tennessee assistant in 1990, the other Volunteer coaches "looked at me like I was nuts" when they found out he was recruiting a white receiver. That player, Craig Faulkner, is a starter for Tennessee this fall.
Nineteen years ago Brown became the first black quarterback in Memphis State history, and he equates the blacks-can't-play-quarterback controversy of years past to the white receivers' situation of today. "The myth about black quarterbacks has been exploded, and it's been proven you have to make decisions based on ability, not skin color," Brown says. "But the mentality of a lot of people in this business is that the white kids can't play certain positions."
The overwhelming need for speed at receiver and cornerback can be traced to NFL rule changes enacted in 1978. Offensive linemen were allowed to use their hands to thwart onrushing defenders, and defensive backs were restricted to bumping wideouts in an area within five yards of the line of scrimmage. All of a sudden, the quick, small black wideout became a huge factor, and an adjustment had to be made on the other side of the ball. At the end of last season the NFL had only six whites who were starting at defensive back—and none of them were cornerbacks.
Rare is the high school white receiver who gets a scholarship or an offer. Fitting that 1991 was also the year that Ben Brown decided to write a book called Saint Bobby and the Barbarians that documented the Florida State football team under Bobby Bowden, one of the coaches who was influenced by the belief that there were few, if any, white athletes worthy of being recruited to play college football (even laughing at the suggestion of a white running back). On page 75 of that book, we learn about Matt Frier, the last white starting receiver for FSU; he's from a proud family, and would eventually graduate with a degree in advertising and seamlessly move into the world of regional commerce. But at FSU, he would have to outwork the other receivers (all Black) for a spot in the playing rotation:
(John) Eason - the FSU receivers coach - noted sarcastically that Frier may have been the victim of a racist stereotype. Because he was white in a position dominated by black athletes, he was assumed to be slow and awkward. But Frier's straight-ahead speed probably put him in the middle of the pack among receivers and running backs. And his desire and toughness were unrivaled.
Rarer is the white starting wide receiver who earns a scholarship to an SEC or Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) school. It is the flashy Black receiver ready to dance after every reception and perform some gratuitous touchdown celebration that fans and coaches have been conditioned to believe can only excel in the either college or the NFL. Stanford University held a conference on racial stereotyping in sports back in 1995, and a white receiver from that school described his experiences from NFL draft evaluations:
(Justin) Armour, a public policy major, told of his experience in February at a National Football League training camp where he was the only white among 44 wide receivers who were being looked over for the draft. In informal conversations with the mostly white physicians, coaches and trainers, he said, he was frequently asked about his academic work and non-athletics-related plans for the future. The same people, when talking to black players, he said, were not only less talkative but brought up "nothing to do with scholarship."
During a pencil-and-paper problem-solving test, he said, some of the black athletes pretended to be sneaking a peek at his paper. This joking behavior, he said, was encouraged by league representatives in the room. On the field, he said, coaches made comments when seeing him about having a "smart guy" in the group. Only after the camp was over, Armour said, did it strike him how pervasive the stereotyping had been. "It is perpetuated over and over," he said, by well-educated people. "What scares me about racism is that the majority of it is pretty subtle."
This is not an example of racism, but merely of conditioning. College recruiters will not sign a white receiver (or running back) for fear of being called a 'racist' by other coaches who will tell Black athletes that a rival school favors white players. For other reason but "racism" would a major university disadvantage their offense by signing a slow white athlete to catch passes? Enter the very white Wes Welker, one of the leading receivers in the NFL. He stars for the New England Patriots, though no team dared draft the former high school Gatorade Player of the Year in Oklahoma. In fact, only one school - Texas Tech - gave him a scholarship, as he had planned to walk-on at Oklahoma State. Only because former Texas Tech coach Mike Leech saw something he liked in the "frat boy" looking Welker's film, did he offer him a scholarship. For four years, he would be the top receiver for the Red Raiders. Now, he is one of the top receivers in the NFL, though like so many other white high school stars, he almost never got the chance to even play college football. The same goes for Indianapolis Colts receiver Blair White, who had to walk-on at Michigan State ('walking-on' means that the player didn't receive an academic scholarship and must pay their own way into school, and that they start very low on the totem pole when it comes to the depth chart). The same goes for former walk-on Oregon white wide receiver Jeff Maehl, who despite putting up insane numbers at the 2011 NFL combine, wasn't drafted. Here's what was said of him before the BCS championship game in 2011:
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- The question seemed innocent enough, but Oregon receivers coach Scott Frost didn't view it that way.
When a reporter noted that wide receiver Jeff Maehl has deceptive speed, often turning short passes into long gains, Frost took exception to the perceived implication.
"Unfortunately, he's a white receiver so you give him that stereo type," Frost said. "I don't know why you give him that stereotype, but he's gonna run a better 40 time than three fourths of the receiving coming out in the draft."
Fair enough. Maehl is more than a possession receiver who runs precise routes. His leaping 45-yard touchdown catch in the USC game was highlight-reel material.
Maehl is aware of the stereotype surrounding "white receivers" and if anything it has worked to his ad vantage.
"I guess that's just kind of my advantage if teams think I might be slow or something," said Maehl, a 6-foot-1, 184-pound senior from Paradise, Calif. "I'm guessing it's out there in the media and in the back of some guys' heads, that's probably what they're thinking."
Another white walk-on receiver, Mike Hass of Oregon State, would go to win the Biletnikoff Award, annually given to the top receiver in college football. Drafted by the New Orleans Saints, he never got a chance to play in the NFL. Bouncing around between a few teams, he languished on practice squads. But no college team offered him a free-ride; he had to walk-on and fight for everything at Oregon State. Though one college football site joked about discrimination toward white receivers, the reality of white high school players getting passed over is real. Tim Dwight, who was nicknamed "white lightning" was once one of the fastest players in the NFL. Sadly, he was used primarily as a special teams player instead of a receiver. The Green Bay Press Gazette wrote an article about the problems facing white receivers in the league, which inadvertently shed light onto one of the reasons there are so few lining up for NFL teams:
"We're a minority," (Brett) Schroeder said. "In many ways being a white receiver is kind of like being an African-American golfer. I don't know why it's like that, but that's just the way it is."
Part of the reason is the NFL has fewer white players than ever. Just 25 years ago, 70 percent of the NFL was white. Now, it's 30 percent.
"The league has changed," NFL analyst and former Cincinnati Bengals receiver Cris Collinsworth said on NFL.com. "It's difficult to compare anything now in the NFL to what it was like 25 years ago."
In 1981, Collinsworth was one of four white receivers to play in the Pro Bowl. He joined San Francisco's Dwight Clark, Denver's Steve Watson and Seattle's Steve Largent.
In the past decade, Denver's Ed McCaffrey is the only white receiver to be selected to the Pro Bowl. McCaffrey made it in 1998 and 1999, but in the last six seasons, no white receiver has been selected.
Tennessee Titans receiver Drew Bennett had a Pro Bowl-type season in 2004 when he had 1,247 yards and 11 touchdowns, but he didn't receive an invitation. After that season, he was referred to as "The Best White Receiver in the NFL." It's a tag Bennett doesn't like.
"I guess you always want to be the best at something," Bennett said sarcastically. "I don't control what people say."
In the last five seasons, there have been 105 1,000-yard seasons, but only two of them — Bennett and Indianapolis' Brandon Stokley in 2004 — have come from white receivers.
"There are plenty of good, white receivers in the NFL," Bennett said. "I'm not going to get obsessed over stats."
But the statistics can be very telling. Last season, only six white receivers — Bennett, Stokley, St. Louis' Kevin Curtis, Atlanta's Brian Finneran, Carolina's Ricky Proehl and Seattle's Joe Jurevicius — finished among their teams' top three receivers. Curtis led all white receivers with 801 yards and Bennett was the only one to lead his team in receiving.
Packers receivers coach Jimmy Robinson has been coaching receivers for 21 years, including 17 in the NFL. Robinson said there's one simple reason why there are fewer white receivers in the NFL than ever before.
"Obviously, it comes down to talent," Robinson said. "Teams are committed to keeping the guys who are the best ones, regardless of color."
During the 2005 draft one of the players who was causing the most commotion was Matt Jones, a 6-foot-6, 230-pounder who played quarterback at Arkansas.
The Jacksonville Jaguars were so enamored with Jones that they took him with the 21st pick.
When the Jaguars drafted Jones, it was the first time in over a decade a white receiver was taken in the first round.
Packers cornerback Ahmad Carroll remembers when he got burnt by a white receiver during his rookie season in 2004 when the Packers were hosting the Titans on "Monday Night Football." The Packers were torched for three passing touchdowns in the 48-27 loss, but the one play Carroll remembers the most was the 11-yard touchdown pass from Steve McNair to Eddie Berlin.
Berlin is white.
"If I get burned by a white receiver, I'm going to hear about it more than if that's not the case," Carroll said. "Anybody who says otherwise is tripping."
Bennett said he has gotten the sense defenders may actually try harder to make sure they don't get beaten by a white player.
"I think they take me seriously. If you're in this league, you can obviously play," Bennett said. "Now, does it bother them a little more if I burn them for a touchdown? Well, you'd have to ask them that."
White guys can't be fast, which means that if a Black defensive player gets beat by one of the "speed" deficient white men in the NFL, they'll take a lot of criticism from other players and coaches. Which brings us to Jordy Nelson of the Green Bay Packers. A former walk-on at Kansas State, Nelson was a rarely used receiver until the 2010 season. He helped lead the Packers to a Super Bowl title; this season, he has become one of the top receivers in the league (and, along with fellow white receiver Eric Decker of the Broncos, is near the top of league in touchdown receptions). And certainly one of the most talked about, after letting slip the reason for his success. Here's the Washington Post on a "controversy" that would garner opinions and bloviating from ESPN, Rush Limbaugh, and, well, the entire sports world:
“I was talking to ‘Wood’ in the fourth quarter and he said, ‘When you see Jordy out there, you think, “Oh well, he’s a white wide receiver. He won’t be very athletic.” But Jordy sort of breaks all those stereotypes,’” (Aaron) Rodgers recounted during his weekly radio show on WAUK-AM, an ESPN Radio affiliate. “I am not sure why he keeps sneaking up on guys.”
Jennings, Nelson’s fellow wide receiver and friend, knows exactly why Nelson keeps sneaking up on opponents: He’s white.
“They underestimate him. And honestly, he uses that to his advantage,” said Jennings, who like Woodson is black. “Seriously . a lot of it has to do with the fact that guys look at him and say, ‘OK, he’s the white guy, he can’t be that good.’ Well, he is that good, he’s proven to be that good and it’s because of the work and the time that he’s put in -- not only on the field but in his preparation off the field.”
Like Dwight, Nelson is nicknamed "white lightning"; unlike Dwight, Nelson was given the opportunity to succeed in the NFL (largely due to injury attrition) and made the most of it. Though his success has been questioned, just like Papale's speed:
When asked by the Green Bay Press Gazette if racial bias is a factor in Nelson's on-field success, he replied: "Honestly, I think it is."
Nelson and his teammates believe that, with so few elite white receivers in the league, opposing players are likely to dismiss Nelson's abilities on the field.
"As receivers, we've talked about it." Nelson told the Press Gazette. "I know [cornerbacks coach] Joe Whitt tells me all the time, when all the rookies come in, he gives them the heads up, 'Don't let him fool ya.' That's fine with me."
Wes Welker, the NFL's best receiver
Nelson had to prove his worth to Kansas State coaches as a walk-on, because no college would give him a scholarship. Welker was basically in those shoes, especially as an undrafted receiver. How many talented white high school receivers never get the chance to even lace up their boots in the college ranks, because of the institutionalized bias that only Black people have "speed?" Steve Sailer pointed out that Matt Jones (whose cocaine addiction ended what should have been a stellar NFL career), the first white receiver drafted in the first round in years, was asked to gain weight to play tight end:
Of course, wide receiver is mostly a black position, so lots of NFL guys tried to talk Jones into playing tight end, a position where whites are more common. Chris Mortensen of ESPN wrote:
"You know, it's funny," one AFC head coach told me last week. "We asked [Jones] about putting on some weight and playing tight end, and he made it clear that he thought it was foolish. He said, 'So you want me to put on 20 pounds and be a 4.57 guy instead of a 4.37 guy?' When you put that into context, you have to admit he makes sense.
So there is something to what Jordy Nelson intimated. White guys aren't supposed to be 'fast' or play wide receiver. Not at the collegiate level; not at the professional level. To excel means that they are outliers, freakish white athletes that stand out from the sloth-like masses of white people. In reality, to excel at receiver you must be able to run precise routes (because quarterbacks have timed drop backs that require concise route running from the receiver to operate properly); good spatial recognition (to determine where to make cuts for optimal positioning against a zone defense to get open; and enough speed to get separation from the defensive back. Plenty of white receivers can and do excel at this; sadly, coaches don't believe white guys have the intangibles and necessary metrics (fast 40 time) to compete at the college level. This is a burden of entry for many talented white high school athletes who are then forced to walk-on if they want to play college football. And because fans and coaches (and players) have been conditioned to believe only Black people possess "speed," any white athlete who excels at receiver in the NFL will be instantly singled-out by the media and opposing defenses - led by entirely Black corners and safeties - for ridicule. Just ask Brian Hartline of the Miami Dolphins, a white receiver from the Ohio State University. He happens to be one of the NFL's most underrated receivers:
The NFL is a melting pot full of players from every city and every background under the sun. There aren’t many white wide receivers, though. Hartline says he and his teammates have some laughs about that.
Among the NFL’s top 30 in terms of 2010 receiving yards, Dallas’ Jason Witten and Hartline are the only Caucasians.
“We have a lot of fun with it,” Hartline said. “No doubt, you hear a lot of talk, along the lines of, ‘That white boy ... don’t sleep on him.’”
Or Mike Furrey, a white receiver who caught 98 passes a few years ago for the Lions in one season, and quickly found himself unemployed the next.
What about Drew Bennett, a white wide receiver who retired from the game in 2009. ESPN The Magazine published this account of the un-drafted, former college quarterback, who went on to be one of the more productive receivers of the 2000 - 2010 years:
On a cool March evening under a clear Spanish sky, he slides out of a rickety wooden chair in a cozy café in Barcelona's Plaza Real. The gangly and goofy American can feel the rubbernecking stare of the natives. He's 6'5'' in a land where men are an average of 5'9''. He wears gray suede Pumas with an orange stripe in a land where people seldom wear tennis shoes. He orders toasted ham and cheese and a beer using butchered Spanish ("Oon bikini ee oon Guinness, poor fevoor") in a land where people speak a language called Catalan. Clearly, Drew Bennett does not belong.
So, what else is new?
Forget for a moment that Bennett, in Spain visiting his younger brother Mark, who's a student there, is a white guy playing a position dominated by black guys. Disregard that he's a former backup UCLA quarterback who's now the Tennessee Titans' No. 1 wide receiver. Ignore the fact that he's gone from his childhood home in the Bay Area to Nashville, from the cradle of conservation to a place where recycling means buying another Harley. All of it pales in comparison with the mother of fish-outta-water scenarios: making it in the NFL as an undrafted free agent.
Ask Austin Collie of the Indianapolis Colts, who excelled at Brigham Young University as a receiver. BYU is known for having great quarterbacks who throw to primarily white Mormon receivers, and Collie is easily the best receiver the school has ever produced. Perhaps his success is fueled partly because he had a good support system at BYU, instead of being constantly ridiculed by his teammates for being a "slow, white receiver." Because BYU actually recruits student-athletes instead of any Black kid who can run a fast 40 time, white athletes aren't unfairly criticized and made fun of; with most of the team being white guys, there a sense of camaraderie that talented white players don't feel elsewhere. That's the point of sports; to develop sound work ethics and pride in yourself, because you are part of a team. Recently retired NFL fullback Heath Evans once alluded to the fact that many NFL teams have racial animosity (imagine being one of the few white guys on a team of predominately Black players), and you can understand how white receivers might have difficulty adjusting to a culture dominated by Black morals and social customs. The same can be said of the college level. At the high school, it's not a liability to have a white receiver; coaches can't recruit (save at private schools) and can only play those athletes who live in their school district. White receivers excel and develop chemistry with their teammates, but rarely have the opportunity to advance to the next level, because college recruiters have prejudicial opinions of their innate abilities. In spite of this, talented players like Wes Welker and Jordy Nelson found a way to excel. If that meant walking-on and having Black defensive backs (we won't even discuss the kind of hate Jason Sehorn faced) be dismissive of their talents because they were white, so be it. It's this simple: sports provide the primary medium where Black people can provide positive contributions to American life. Though trivial, many people derive their entire identity from their alma mater or professional football team they follow (because there is no such thing as an "American Identity" anymore). Because the concept of Black Supremacy in sports is so ingrained, predominately white sports fans believe that having a white athlete at a position dominated by Blacks (especially wide receiver) that their team is at a distinct disadvantage. How can they compete against such fast Black players? Just ask Vince Papale how you compete against coaches and talent scouts who believe white men can't run fast. Just ask Jordy Nelson and Wes Welker, who never had Rival or Scout salivating over their abilities, and were forced to fight for everything they earned as either a walk-on or as a player given the last scholarship. How many talented white high school receivers could have developed were they given that opportunity? White Men Can Run (with apologies to Amby Burfoot), its just a system has been erected that denies the lot of them an opportunity to prove it at the collegiate level. Those that break free then face an even greater burden of proof at the NFL level to showcase their talents, because white guys aren't supposed to be fast. White Men Can Run... it's just universally accepted and constantly stipulated that they can't. Just ask Jordy Nelson, who is having a tremendous season in spite of his debilitating whiteness.
