Marvel's "Thor" Was Based on Nordic Mythology, but included Africans as White Gods; "Black Panther" Created by Two Jewish Guys in 1960s, is Ultimate Black Power Myth Now

PK NOTE: For the record, the Nordic myths behind the Marvel character Thor bound a people together and formed the basis of a civilization via religion; two Jewish guys invented Wakanda in the 1960s, a black power fantasy depicting an African nation untouched by white hands that present-day black people now worship as manifestation of Afrofuturism and solving Hollywood's "Africa Problem

Shot. [Idris Elba defends Thor film role: Race debate stirs after London-born star of The Wire wins role as Norse deity Heimdall in Kenneth Branagh's new film Thor, The Guardian, 4-27-10]:

Even for an actor who has played a vampire-hunter with a guilty conscience, a Baltimore crime lord with a taste for Adam Smith, and an asset manager with a stalker, the role of the Norse deity Heimdall – guardian of the burning rainbow bridge between the world of men and the world of gods – was always going to be a bit of a challenge.
Marvel's Thor: A mockery of European traditions, myths, and religion
But playing a god in Kenneth Branagh's forthcoming film Thor has turned out to be the least of Idris Elba's worries, after fans of the comic books turned on the star of The Wire for reasons that have nothing to do with his acting ability and everything to do with the colour of his skin.
When news emerged late last year that the 37-year-old black Londoner had been chosen to play Heimdall, "the whitest of the gods", a being who can hear the sap flowing in trees and look across time and space, many devotees of the Marvel comics on which the film is based flocked to online forums to weep, gnash their teeth and unleash a tide of indignation.
A fortnight ago, the actor told Jonathan Ross that his take on Heimdall was "Norse by way of Hackney, Canning Town". And at the beginning of the month, he told a press conference that he saw his casting as an encouraging step.
His view was not shared among the more vehement of the comic books' fans. "This PC crap has gone too far!" wailed one. "Norse deities are not of an African ethnicity! … It's the principle of the matter. It's about respecting the integrity of the source material, both comics and Norse mythologies."
Fellow fans were quick to nod their horn-helmeted heads.
"At the risk of sounding like a bigot, I think this is nuts!" said another. "Asgard is home to the Norse Gods!!! Not too many un-fair complexion types roaming the frigid waste lands up there. I wouldn't expect to see many Brad Pitt types walking around in the [first mainstream black superhero] Black Panther's Wakanda Palace!"
Elba, who was born in Hackney, north-east London, to a Ghanaian mother and Sierra Leonean father, has addressed such concerns in a string of recent interviews."There has been a big debate about it: can a black man play a Nordic character?" he told TV Times. "Hang about, Thor's mythical, right? Thor has a hammer that flies to him when he clicks his fingers. That's OK, but the colour of my skin is wrong?
"I was cast in Thor and I'm cast as a Nordic god," he said. "If you know anything about the Nords, they don't look like me but there you go. I think that's a sign of the times for the future. I think we will see multi-level casting. I think we will see that, and I think that's good."
Chaser. [Who’s Allowed to Wear a Black Panther Mask?, Kwame Opam, 2-13-18]:
In an interview with BuzzFeed News in the fall, Sterling K. Brown, a star of “Black Panther,” thrilled at the prospect of children, black and white, dressing up as the title character. “This Halloween, the first time I see a little kid, a white kid, dressed up as Black Panther, I’m taking a picture,” he said. “You better believe I’m taking a picture, because that’s the crossover.”
Chadwick Boseman, who plays Black Panther in the film, had already witnessed said crossover, he said in the same interview: “I’ve seen little white kids dressed up as T’Challa. I’ve seen pictures, and I’ve seen it in person.”
Wakanda: a veritable social construct, devised by two Jewish comic writers, playing upon toxic levels of black self-esteem/vanity and mentally debilitating white guilt
Black Panther costumes — whether the character’s full raiment or just his claws and mask — are on toy store shelves (and, of course, on Amazon) in anticipation of the film’s Feb. 16 release. At best, the character get-ups speak to the enthusiastic embrace of a black superhero. At worst, they could be perceived as an unwitting form of cultural appropriation, which has in recent years become a subject of freighted discourse.
What does that dual significance mean for children? And, perhaps more urgently, what does it mean for the parents who will buy the costumes for them?
“As parents, or even as the people creating costumes, we need to be very aware of what that says,” said Brigitte Vittrup, an associate professor of early childhood development and education at Texas Woman’s University. “There’s not a whole lot of black superheroes, so this is a really important thing, especially for black kids growing up.”
Many parents are split on how Black Panther’s blackness should figure into their children’s relationship to the character. Some argue that placing racial boundaries around expressions of fandom is unnecessary.
“I’m actually wondering now what it might be like for that parent who’s not of color if his kid comes home and says, ‘I want to dress up like Black Panther,’” said Katrina Jones, 39, the director of human resources at Vimeo. “When I look at it, I see no reason why a kid who’s not black can’t dress like Black Panther. Just like our kid who’s not white dresses up like Captain America. I think the beautiful thing about comics is they do transcend race in a lot of ways.”
Mary Dimacali, 29, a social media and marketing manager in Rockland County, New York, echoed that idea. She does not believe that her fiancé’s 7-year-old son, Sawyer, who is white, sees the film or its characters through the lens of race. Sawyer himself, during the interview with Ms. Dimacali, said, “sure,” when she asked if he’d like to dress up as Black Panther.
“For a white kid to be so open and judge based on the character’s story and the personality and history, I think that’s what’s important,” she said. “But on the flip side, I think it’s also great to have a black superhero you can identify and connect to.”
The character’s history is unique. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1966, Black Panther rules as the king of an African technological utopia known as Wakanda. Untouched by European invaders, Wakanda exists apart from the legacies of colonization and racism. Black history and black fantasy are central to the character, and the series has brought on prominent black writers including Ta-Nehisi Coates to deepen its significance over the last 50 years.
Consequently, some parents have felt pressure to hammer home Black Panther’s heroism through the lens of race.
“I’m conflicted,” said Evan Narcisse, a senior writer for the website io9. He is completing “Rise of the Black Panther,” a six-part comic series for Marvel that traces the character’s early history. He has tried to explain some of that history to his 7-year-old daughter, but without delving too deeply into complex concepts like Western imperialism, which she may struggle to grasp.
“You want that white kid to be able to think that he can dress up in a Black Panther costume, because, to that kid, there’s no difference between Captain America and Black Panther,” Mr. Narcisse, 45, said. But, he added, it also involves “trying to explain what is special about T’Challa and Wakanda without racism. And it’s like, ‘Can’t do it.’ I couldn’t do it.”
According to the ticketing site Fandango, “Black Panther” set a record among Marvel films for the most advance tickets sold in a 24-hour period. It’s projected to make a record-breaking $165 million over Presidents’ Day weekend and comparisons to last year’s “Wonder Woman” bode well for its reception and impact, particularly for black people.
I’ve been to Wakanda, and I may never recover. I am so grateful that our young people will see this film and their minds will be transformed. Congratulations #RyanCoogler —you did that! #blackpantherpremiere #blackpanther — Vanessa K. De Luca (@Vanessa_KDeLuca) Jan. 30, 2018
“White people have the privilege of not constantly being reminded of their race in the United States, where white is the majority, whereas as a black person you don’t,” Ms. Vittrup said.
She believes that parents in general, and white parents in particular, are reluctant to talk about race with young children.
When they do, they often miss the chance to talk about inequality, even though research supports the idea that children develop an awareness of race and difference at a very young age.
Ms. Vittrup was careful to add that dressing as Black Panther isn’t inherently appropriative or offensive. The character comes from an invented African country, and to wear his mask isn’t quite the same as wearing blackface. However, in a moment where even more black heroes, like Luke Cage and Black Lightning, are finding their way into the limelight, Black Panther’s relationship with the black community and its history creates an opportunity to teach nonblack children about the black experience.
“Kids are not colorblind,” she said. “There’s a lot of structural inequality in our society, and kids are noticing that. By not mentioning it, by not talking about it, we’re essentially preserving the status quo.”Continue reading the main storyAdvertisementContinue reading the main story“I’m actually wondering now what it might be like for that parent who’s not of color if his kid comes home and says, ‘I want to dress up like Black Panther,’” said Katrina Jones, 39, the director of human resources at Vimeo. “When I look at it, I see no reason why a kid who’s not black can’t dress like Black Panther. Just like our kid who’s not white dresses up like Captain America. I think the beautiful thing about comics is they do transcend race in a lot of ways.”

Norse mythology is a real, highly verifiable component of European culture and identity, spanning centuries and connecting a unique racial group to their ancestors; Wakanda is a social construct, the wish fulfillment of Africans for a superior black power civilization - in the face of overwhelming empirical evidence of black dysfunction/failure when compared to European ingenuity -  only possible on film because of technology invented by white people (visual special effects), and a mythology created by two Jewish guys in the 1960s.

Hollywood must promote black self-esteem at all cost, while doing everything possible to bury any sense of pride white people might procure from seeing their past, history, and religion proudly displayed on film.

*Engage Dennis Miller mode . . .*

Now, I don't mean to go off on a rant here, but I am done. Disney owns Marvel, LucasFilm, and has recently acquired 20th Century Fox. The real story is how this isn't being flagged as some sort of monopoly in direct violation of the Sherman Anti-Trust Act.

The short answer is that the (((PTB))) turn a blind eye to monoploies and combines that play along with the agenda.

Anybody remember the big anti-trust lawsuit that was filed against MicroSoft and their practice of "bundling" software? THAT story was always front page news, with page after page (plus sidebars) devoted to the legal theories behind the rulings of Judge Thomas Pennfield Jackson.

Heh ... funny thing though ...

While all of that was going on in a most public manner, I remember seeing a tiny little two paragraph story buried in the bowels of the paper about the SEC approving the merger of Exxon-Mobil.

Really? MicroSoft is engaging in "monopolistic and unfair business practices" while the SEC approves the merger of two companies in the very industry that gave rise to the Sherman Act, mainly due to the avaricious machinations of John D. Rockefeller's Standard Oil empire? Has anyone else noticed that Bill Gates' anti-trust problems have since disappeared, even though MicroSoft is still pretty much doing business as usual? It couldn't possibly have anything to do with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation donating boatloads of cash to further the NWO agenda, could it?

I'm done. I was a life-long Star Wars fan ever since that iconic opening shot in 1977, but the SJW bullshit mentioned in many online review and the backlash in the fan community kept me from the latest film. I have NOT bothered to see Episode 8, and can't be bothered to see it. Marvel and Star Wars might just as well have gone fishing with Fredo, THAT'S how dead they are to me.

End rant.

The black folks in wakanda, (Detroit) have finally gotten out of the way so that evil and moneyed whitey can come back and fix their abysmal attempt at running a city. Good luck running an entire kingdom. Idiots all.

At this point it's just sickening. I used to say, "I don't hate anyone I just want to live amongst my own." I meant it, also.
I DO hate them now. I hate them as much as they hate me. As much as the banana empire hates me.
This nonsense can't last forever, thankfully.
No way would I let one of ny kids dress up like that. Maybe if he also carried around a watermelon and box of KFC.

Children develop an awareness of race because they have these things called "eyes" and can do this thing called "see." This is actually nothing new. It is human nature, and perfectly OK to be able to differentiate.

Also...in reference to a black Englishman at 3:30 AM...I agree there is no such thing. However, the true British people are dead now. They have let their country be consumed with others.

There is an entire industry that has been created and built around instructing White people in various racial interactions, that amount to nothing more than always be in the inferior position. There are just enough Whites that lap the bullshit up that there is a consumer base for the smut.

If a White goes to the cine-gogue and buys the merchandise, they are appropriating black culture. If a White does not go to the cine-gogue or buy the merchandise, they are cloistering away from black culture, an act of racism.

So what is a White who wants to remain being seen as "good" (meaning subservient) do in such a situation? Well, you assume a supine position and seek out black instruction. Conveniently, some genderqueer mulatto will have a listicle on jezebel or salon to guide you through the process until you are ready for your next psychological lashing for some other imagined microaggression.

It truly is masochism in the purest sense. There is not much difference in the kind of White who absorbs that crap and some kind of scene out of Fifty Shades of Grey. These Whites are effectively saying, "Yes, daddy. Spank me. Thank you daddy. Harder Daddy, harder - Tell me I'm a bad girl."

The purveyors of this crap don't really know how to react when Whites reject them as founts of wisdom. College campuses prevent the clowns from facing challenges to their premises and defending their positions with empirical data. This always gives the purveyor a false and puffed up sense of bravado. They do not yet realize that peak exploitable White guilt was passed somewhere in 2015 or so, and it is never coming back. The more they insist on this path, the more people it sends to the alt-right sphere.

Only White leftists have the foresight to recognize this is a long term losing strategy and is part of the reason why they want to tone down the anti-white rhetoric. Having White guys give the responses to the SOTU is an example. The only problem is that too much of their own constituency is loud mouth, pushy women of color who will not be satisfied with performing a supporting role. There is no delicate way to get them to be silent in the name of strategy. They have come to enjoy their position of pushing Whites around and having them perform seal tricks.

Not to get to high falutin' I just want to mention a couple of weird miscastings I have seen. Both in Wagnerian opera - The Ring. First, I saw a production of Siegfried where the part of Sieglinde, a Germanic demigod, was played by Jessie Norman; a good singer, but a black nordic princess??? The other one was really funny. In a production of Rheingold, the part of Alberich, who is trying to make it with the Rhinemaidens swimming around, is played by a black guy. A good singer but??? It reminded me of the Cleavon Little in Blazing Saddles asking "Where are all the white women?"

Thor is also not FEMALE either. The SJW marxists at Marvel could have chosen from a wide variety of Norse female gods but oh no...they had to take from white males again.

To listen to the Black Panther chatter out there you'd swear it was a groundbreaking documentary. Which unfortunately it will be treated as by blacks.

But, he added, it also involves “trying to explain what is special about T’Challa and Wakanda without racism. And it’s like, ‘Can’t do it.’ I couldn’t do it.”

So which did we decide? Are we all interchangeable, race being only a social construct, or are we different? Or are we all equal but some are more equal than others?

And so we have the schizophrenic double-think required by our PC overlords. One of the "silent weapons" which is the likely cause for many people to seek the comfort of chemical lobotomies from psych drugs or more traditional recreational drugs. The real purpose of this propaganda isn't necessarily for anybody to believe it themselves but simply to offer a mantra for the mob to chant so that dissenters and free thinkers can be easily picked out and ostracized (and eventually perhaps re-educated). Another great bonus is those who do cave and parrot the party lies knowing they are lies are now complicit in their own enslavement and displacement and feel all the worse as helpless cowards.

So we race towards the breaking point where most folks are happy enough to go along to get along and mumble the proper platitudes, many still have the luxury that the only black Africans they see are those in Jewish created fairy tales in media and advertising, but the black Africans lack any impulse control or forethought to quit while they're ahead. As a few have pointed out here, we (white Europeans) are the ONLY ones who like blacks (or at least are forced to pretend we do for the sake of politeness). Jose, Mohammed, Pajeet, and Chang hold no such delusions. Every day, the more (((they)) push this shit down our throats and the more their pets bite the hands that feed them we get ever closer to the point where the negro loses his last friend and ally on Earth.

Meanwhile, social media is already filling up with "fuck you whitey" comments about this movie. A petition is getting around some demanding (((Disney))) donate a huge cut of the profits to "the African American Community", some blacks and DWL types are demanding whites stay home for the opening weekend because of how sacred this will be to the African moviegoers (though more likely because they're terrified true believers will become race realists after seeing how Wakandans behave in a movie theater), and some people are going as far as trying to push various memes such as #myskinismyticket that blacks are allowed in for free if they turn up with 4 or 5 of their buddies.

So (((media))) will completely hide any theater chimpouts as millions of naive fools get a real up close and personal taste of the wonders that only Africans can create. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if some MKULTRA patsy shoots up a theater full of nogs so that any local stories of "theater shooting" reality can be buried under something that more fits the narrative.

The sense of touch could be put into your list, when kids realize they have an inability to feel items which used to belong to them which have been stolen. For many of us, our sense of hearing can detect them too. I believe children are no different and may have heightened powers at this stage to help them grow to adulthood.

I read quickly through the readers reviews on the Rotten Eggs web site this morning about the film 'Black Panther'. I was a little surprised to see how many readers gave it bad or negative reviews. Yet the official movie critics seem to have fallen all over themselves praising it. What gives?

I think the answer is that there are two distinct aspects to the movie. First it is simply a juvenile entertainment full of improbable action by improbable characters. For example no one gets very exercised about a Hulk or Spider-Man movie. Some of them have been quite entertaining and others have been just embarrassingly stupid.

The second reason is that it is meant as advancing an agenda. Critics who favor the black agenda are delirious over this movie.

Negroes seem to like comics and comic book characters. Negroes, of course, are stupid. IQ originally meant the quotient of mental age over physical age. So if you performed in class at a eleventh grade level and you were in the tenth grade (11/10 X 100) your IQ would be 110. It isn't defined that way anymore, but that's where term comes from. The black African IQ is about 70 and the African American (hybrids with white European admixture) IQ is about 85.

Originally IQ only meant up to the age of 16 when the brain stops growing (but still continues developing). So the mental age of pure black Africans is around eleven years(16 X .70) and that of African Americans is about thirteen years(16 x.85). These ages, of course, are the target ages for which comic books are written. This suggests that the natural literature of blacks is the comic book.

I read comics when I was ten or twelve. Now I read other things. I couldn't sleep early this morning so I read a couple chapters of "The Eocene-Oligocene Transition" (nothing like a little geology to put you right back to sleep).

This book was written by a white guy for white guys. Maybe that's what 'white privilege' means.

Reality and fantasy are two different things. Historically the Norse gods are obviously white. However, they are a mythical creation. Now they are being recreated as a new mythology. This doesn't bother me as much as re-creating reality.

For example, with 9/11, the heroic firefighters were white, yet, the statue portrayed them as white, black and Hispanic. That disturbs me because it is re-writing history. I don't like history to be re-written because I believe truth matters.

BTW, my parents are from India. The Hindu gods include blue-skinned people, people with multiple arms, etc. These are all just symbolic. I wouldn't give a crap if someone wanted to create a comic book version where they were portrayed as black or white. I WOULD care if someone decided to portray Gandhi as a black or white man.

Same thing with say, portraying George Washington or Isaac Newton or Mother Theresa as a black person. Reality matters. Facts matter.

Except in places like N. Korea where the Kims re-write history and the populace lives in Plato's cave looking at shadows on the wall. But if you want to actually matter and accomplish things, objective truth matters. Facts matter. Reality matters.

And teaching people false narratives couched as truth is much more oppressive than any reality.

I haven't seen anything about Wakanda on TV so far today. That's probably because I don't actually watch TV before 5:00 PM. But another reason is because the news stations are covering the Florida school shooting to the exclusion of everything else.

There is a connection between the "Black Panther" and the shootings. The networks and cable news never seem to mention this connection.

One of the school teachers who got out was decrying the existence of so many guns in the hands of the people. But while that seems like an obvious solution to the problem, it is not one that is going to be solvable by simple gun confiscation. I don't really like to shoot very much any more. I went to the range two weeks ago and the recoil just killed my arthritic hands.

But I can't really give up any of my guns. Not while I live in Oakland which is an earthquake zone and has a lot of negroes. Even without a natural calamity I need to be armed. The guy across the street had a home invasion as did another guy down the hill. I enjoy the nation's best climate here in Oakland but I live under the constant treat of black burglars.

Even just twenty years ago the major reason white people kept guns was for hunting. But today it's home protection. If there were no blacks in America I might happily empty out my gun safes.

But without firearms I wouldn't dare live in Oakland.

Don't ever trust Rotten Tomatoes, as if I have to tell anyone that at this point.

Remember 'The Nightly Show' that was pumped and primed and given to Larry Wilmore at one of the best time slots on television? He tanked it in one season, I don't even think it finished the last scheduled episodes.

100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Not 90's or high 90's, but 100%

Google has joined the bandwagon and you will notice your race-based search results are VERY different now- when you look up something negative about blacks it will show you results that more often than not flip it around against whites. If you don't believe me, try a search on black or even Hispanic crime or other anti-social behaviors. You will get a useless result as well as queries that seemed designed to piss you off.

I'm still experimenting, but Duckduckgo and Dogpile seem to be a bit better.

Google is hanging itself- the original founders are playing with 'big ideas' while a liberal "PoC" is acting as CEO and running it as his personal social justice platform. I hope that they pay dearly for messing with the purpose of their flagship product.

They can't hide the images of dysfunction anymore. There will be fights, shootings, and all manner of dysfunction, caught on camera phones. I can't wait for the Tommy Sotomayor videos!

......the wish fulfillment of Africans for a superior black power civilization - in the face of overwhelming empirical evidence of black dysfunction/failure when compared to European ingenuity - only possible on film because of technology invented by white people (visual special effects), and a mythology created by two Jewish guys in the 1960s.

Wow, you said it all right there.

OT: Our (((friends))) are working overtime trying to affix the "white" boy in the latest school massacre as a member of a white supremacist group in Florida. All the major news outlets carried this story, only it happens to not be true. In the words of Don Black, we are and have been, under siege. If you haven't tuned into the Rense Radio Network to listen to Don Black and David Duke, you're missing out on what our (((Rulers))) have planned for us. Spoiler alert.....it ain't pretty. The time to load up on guns and ammo was yesterday. Act accordingly.

OK Saw the movie. My impressions.(Spoiler Alert)
Very Africa Centric. Wakanda is located in the Kenya /Uganda area.
There are domesticated Rhino's.
The Main Black protagonist has a decidedly African-American demeanor.
The tenor of the movie did not exhibit the arrogance I anticipated.
No Weaves. So maybe this movie will convince African Americans to wear their hair in a more natural manner.

A lot of Facial Paint used, dots and lines ( traditional African markings) in certain scenes. Some of the Actors Characters sported the large lip plate we are all familiar with from the NatGeo magazine and television specials we have all seen. Which looked kind of silly to me for people depicted living in an advanced society.

While at the beginning the Wakandans are nationalistic and do not provide foreign aid or allow immigration at the end of the movie they are providing foreign aid and sharing technology. Nothing said about Immigration into Wakanda though.

White people are called Colonist's.
One scene had the Warrior Mountain Tribe leader grunting like a Chimpanzee to silence the
only White Guy who was trying to speak. Why the Black script writers would put that type of a scene in the movie escapes me. Talk about stereotyping. If I was Black I would be embarrassed by that scene.( Hell I'm White and the scene embarrassed me, talk about Planet of the Apes) But, it was a movie based upon a comic book.
The White CIA Agent after being shot is taken to Wakanda to be healed. The New King exhibits compassion in doing this and violates one of the unwritten rules.
The movie will not cause any uptick in Black on White violence in my opinion.
Actually I think the Actor playing the White Antagonist did the best acting job. Well Maybe a little over the top).
Definitely not worthy of all the praise heaped upon it. I give it a maybe 70% rating.
In my opinion the Script was a little weak.
Not bad for a young director with little experience directing big budget block busters.
I give it two weeks and it will die in the Theatres. We'll see.
I think in their Heart of Hearts most African Americans know there is no Wakanda and
they had no part in building the current Modern Civilizations which exist around the Globe.
If this Movie gives young Black Children something to dream about building or accomplishing ( much like Jules Vernes "From the Earth to the Moon" or "20,000 Leagues under the Sea") it's not all bad. On the other hand if it reinforces or feeds into some delusional idea that "Colonist's" somehow stunted their development and stole their future it won't help them to solve their problems but will reinforce their victimhood meme.

So (((media))) will completely hide any theater chimpouts as millions of naive fools get a real up close and personal taste of the wonders that only Africans can create.

Yea and if only we had a gentile in media like Conan "Haiti is great" O'Brien to tell the truth.

One thing we can say about the Negro mind, as shown by this horrendous kangz hullabaloo, is that they do have strong imagination. This is indeed enough to convince me to categorize them as human.

Imagine a movie in which a white guy is cast in the role of Shaka Zulu.
