2010 Mid-Term Elections: A New Hope or The Empire Strikes Back?

Before we begin with Election 2010 coverage, a moment of silence for Alvin Greene. He represented the shining hope for a Black person to be elected to the United States Senate. Regrettably, the Senate is lily-white.

When one considers the state of Black America's elected representatives in Washington DC (how many of the Congressional Black Caucus are under ethics investigation, believe Guam might capsize or elucidate on the Florida Gators not taking no Jive?), it should be obvious that Mein Obama is the titular face of Black people in a government of undeniably incompetent elected Black officials.

Does 2010 offer A New Hope for America?

And the 2010 election was all about him, with those forgotten, old white people (I'm looking at you Juan Williams) of Pre-Obama America sending a defiant message to DC: Black Run America (BRA) must end.

Michael Steele had nothing to do with it, mind you.

Black Run America (BRA) has been around for sometime. It doesn't mean that Black people run America, it means that America runs for the betterment of Black people. Entitlement programs, free lunches, welfare payments, the creation of Whitopia's miles away from failing Black cities, the end of NASA, affirmative action and blatant discrimination against the majority population have existed for sometime.

But Mein Obama put a Black face on the whole concept, thus creating a whole new dynamic. His administration has gone above and beyond what the original goal of BRA was and created a scenario virtually unimaginable ten years ago (see here where Theroot.com gloats about how Obama has benefited Black America at the expense of America).

White America is wakening up. White America hasn't lost its mind, its slowly beginning to realize that it has legitimate interests in an age where minority chauvinism is reaching epic levels. Just look at the returns of the 2010 mid-term vote. White people are abandoning the Democratic Party at rates unprecedented in American history.

Worse, Rhode Island voted to keep 'Plantations' in the state name! 

With the battle for 2012 starting now, let's take stock of what this actually represents. Can the Republicans accomplish anything, offering the proverbial New Hope so many people long for right now? Or will it be the case of The Empire Strikes Back, as when the Republicans took power in 1994 but did nothing in return for those who voted them in and trusting them with the reins of the government?

Remember, Newt Gingrich is positioning himself for a 2012 presidential run, thus ensuring that 1994 is recreated and the The Empire Strikes Back scenario coming true.

Exit polls have showed low Black voter turnout, but in the end the Black vote doesn't matter. What matters is that something strange is happening in America: white people are beginning to think in terms of their own interests and they believe the Republican represents the best product available right now to protect their aspirations and goals for the future.

Or is 2010 merely 1994 again?

Remember, Black people and their votes are merely pawns in an chess match between Stuff White People Like (SWPL) whites and Untouchable whites. SWPL whites hope for immigration reform so that illegal aliens can be added to the list of guaranteed Minority Rainbow Coalition voters (hey, it helped in Nevada!).

Untouchable whites just want normal Pre-Obama America, a time and place when pride still mattered.

Continuing the Star Wars theme, does the 2010 mid-term election represent a New Hope or merely The Empire Strike Back scenario?

Of course, somewhere people are thinking about that third kind of white people we alluded to recently. Perhaps they represent Return of the Jedi?

Conservatives are congratulating themselves like the Rebel Alliance did after destroying the Death Star in Star Wars: A New Hope. Those who can see wonder if this is but a repeat of the failed promise of 1994, when the gains of conservatives were negated by the pusillanimous elected Republicans once in office.

Are white people gaining courage to confront the term 'racist'? Rand Paul did win and he has shown courage against a barrage of attacks...

Black Run America (BRA) will not end until white people understand that they have legitimate interests and that these interests matter in a nation that is increasingly hostile to Pre-Obama America and its founding documents.

There will never be an end to the question "And Then?" and it should be obvious that there Can be no peace between SPWL whites and Untouchable whites.

But what is happening is something elemental: white people are starting to think as a group, if only implicit at first.Though the Tea Party people look for Black faces to make the movement seem palatable to those who believe racism to be a mental illness, the tectonic plates that hold together acceptable dialogue are shifting.

And that might be the ultimate Stuff Black People Don't Like. The zenith of 'hate facts'.

What if the Tea Party was an All-Black Affair?

What if the Tea Party was majority Black, instead of overwhelmingly white? CNN asked this question during an intense debate on one of the 24/7 news channels increasingly unwatched and irrelevant shows.

Tea Party people still don’t understand: The ideas they espouse aren’t universal and they obviously don’t transcend racial barriers.

Any movement that is frequented by a majority of white people will be automatically pegged as racist in its intent. The dreaded N-word, NASCAR, has long been the butt of numerous jokes regarding the monochromatic fan base of the sport.

Limited government and low taxation are foundational myths of the Tea Party belief structure and these run counter to the manner in which Black Run America (BRA) is governed.

Indeed, someone must pay for social programs and if the Tea Party movement had their ideas implemented then programs that help maintain BRA would be sorely under-funded.

Sadly, what is lost to those who even pose the question of a fictional “Black Tea Party” is that anti-racism is accepted as the tool to control unpopular thought in America. The Tea Party people fear being called racist and run from any unpopular discourse that might label them as such, despite the righteous indignation of Disingenuous White Liberals who know – axiomatically – that the Tea Party participants are inherently racist.

It is an interesting thought experiment though: What would happen if the Tea Party participants were Black? How would the media depict this movement?

Perhaps, they would cover the Tea Party with the same zeal they cover Flash Mobs, a uniquely Black activity that usually results in major property damage wherever they occur?

Here is the ultimate question: Who stands to lose the most if the Tea Party people succeed? If limited government, fiscal responsibilities and the rollback of government intrusion into Americans lives happened tomorrow, who would benefit?

How many government programs that benefit Black people would be cut immediately, as the taxes collected and money allocated for these programs ended?

If the Tea Party were Black, you can be assured that no media talking-head would dare insinuate that the participants were racist as Black people exercising their right to demonstrate collectively is never, ever construed as racist, but merely an outgrowth of positive community feedback.

Anytime a Tea Party activist is interviewed by the media, they immediately are on the defensive from accusatory questions of the racist nature of their organization. This is never the case of majority Black endeavors, which are treated with the utmost respect. Indeed, CNN ran a glowing story entitled “Black in America” which never at hinted at the intrinsic prejudicial elements within that feature.

Does anyone really believe CNN would put together a feature entitled “White in America” that asked penetrating and probing questions about the future for whites in America?

No. If the Tea Party is to survive and become relevant in an increasingly tribal America (fragmenting by the day) then they must become numb the term “racist”. That term is the nullifies any arguement, for know matter how well-argued or factual a case may be against something if it is labeled racist then that characterization sticks. That is ultimate hate fact.

You can’t wash it off with soap and then present it to the public again with a smiling Black face (like Lloyd Marcus) and expect people to embrace your movement with open arms.

The elite of this nation have declared war on the Tea Party movement in America for one reason: they represent a challenge to Black Run America, unlike any entity before. And if BRA goes, so goes Disingenuous White Liberals. The latter has wedded itself to the former and the symbiotic relationship will wither away if the Tea Party would only deflect the criticisms of their devout enemies.

Remember, if the Tea Party people got their way then no programs that help out Black people and minorities would be funded through taxes. Redistribution of wealth would end.

The Tea Party is still a disjointed, splintered group of disgruntled white people afraid to rally around the only banner they secretly share: the love of Pre-Obama America.

When they do, Black Run America is finished.

The Tea Party is not Black, nor will it ever be and there is an obvious reason for this: the policies Tea Party participants espouse are not universal. They are particular to a distinct people who refuse to admit that their ancestors brought forth these ideals to the land mass that became the United States.

Lloyd Marcus: The Tea Party's Version of Buddy Holly at the Apollo

Who is Lloyd Marcus, that absolutely brilliant Black singer serenading all-white crowd at Tea Party events across the nation?:

The singer left no doubt about his politics. Striking up a tune in front of a Republican party meeting in Daytona Beach, Florida, he belted out "New York, New York", but changed the lyrics to an anti-Barack Obama diatribe.

"This socialist nightmare/Must come to an end!" sang Lloyd Marcus, decked out in a cowboy hat, pointed cowboy boots and a leather vest. Six elderly white Republicans were hauled to the front of the room and were soon dancing and kicking their legs in the air.

My Obama blues/Are melting away!" he continued, as the rest of the room cheered wildly. Other songs followed. The Temptations' hit "My Girl" became "Our Girl", about Sarah Palin. Louis Armstrong's hit "What a Wonderful World" was rendered into a patriotic "What a Wonderful Country". Everyone in the room lapped it up, swaying to the words like teenagers at a rock concert, not ­retirees having lunch in a yacht club.

But Marcus has that effect on Republicans. He is the music performer most worshipped by America's right wing; a hero of the conservative Tea Party movement. He plays at Tea Party rallies around the country. And next week, when the movement holds its first national convention in Nashville, Tennessee, Marcus will be there playing to a crowd of thousands.

Stuff Black People Don't Like can only laugh at the sight of hundreds, thousands and tens of thousands of white people clapping for the melody and pitch challenged Lloyd Marcus as he croons poorly written diatribes against Mein Obama.

We recall the infamous Buddy Holly show at the Apollo Theater and can only laugh at the similarities:

A humorous episode results from a misunderstanding in one of their early bookings. Sol Gittler (Dick O'Neill) signs them up sight-unseen for the famous Apollo Theater in Harlem, assuming from their music that they're a black band. When three white Texans show up instead, he is stunned, but unwilling to pay them for doing nothing, he nervously lets them perform and prays fervently that the all-black audience doesn't riot at the sight of the first all-white band to play there. (In real life, that distinction belongs to Jimmy Cavallo and The House Rockers, who played at that venue in 1956.) After an uncomfortable start and an initially hostile crowd, Buddy's songs soon win them over and the Crickets are a tremendous hit. Gitler books them to come back several times.

Indeed, Madonna might be right: Music makes the people come together. Any organization that flaunts Lloyd Marcus as an example of why one should fight the current government system is obviously high on the drug that Lloyd Bridges' character in Airplane! repeatedly tried to quit, to no avail.

The people behind the Tea Party movement and the white people who attend rallies have probably had less contact than Lloyd Christmas did in Dumb and Dumber with Black people, which explains Lloyd Marcus and his role with the group.

#93. MARs Attacking

Mankind has long been fascinated with the Red Planet, as the prospect that the fourth planet from the sun and closest to our own earth might be home to an advanced civilization has dominated the thoughts of educated men for centuries.

H.G. Wells penned the terrifying novel "The War of the Worlds", which depicted a Martian invasion of earth and the subsequent inability of European munitions to stop the invaders from taking the planet through total war. The book has spawned numerous films of the same name and all end the same way, the death of the martians through inadverdent biological warfare:

"From the moment the invaders arrived, breathed our air, ate and drank, they were doomed. They were undone, destroyed, after all of man's weapons and devices had failed, by the tiniest creatures that God in his wisdom put upon this earth. By the toll of a billion deaths, man had earned his immunity, his right to survive among this planet's infinite organisms. And that right is ours against all challenges. For neither do men live nor die in vain."

Another film that dealt with the threat of Red Planet induced destruction was "Mars Attacks!" - a 1996 Tim Burton film that lampooned the Sci-Fi movies of the 1960s. Earth is invaded by Martians and the combined military's of the planet our helpless against the superior aramaments of our Mars' dwelling enemies.

However, these ficticious residents of Mars have little effect at phasing Black people, but another, more sinister form of MARs leave Black people feeling as helpless as those who listened to the 1930s "War of the Worlds" broadcast by Orson Welles.

MARs is the designated acronym of Middle American Radicals popularized by Sam Francis, an intellectual who in death will gain a larger following than during his award-winning career:

"Middle American Radicals (MARs) are essentially middle-income, white, often ethnic voters who see themselves as an exploited and dispossessed group, excluded from meaningful political participation, threatened by the tax and trade policies of the government, victimized by its tolerance of crime, immigration and social deviance, and ignored or ridiculed by the major cultural institutions of the media and education."

Francis believed that MARs would attack during the Clinton Administration, but the anger of these white people crystallized into the election of George W. Bush and eventually became dormant in the Red States of America.

Black people and disingenuous white liberals look with incredulous eyes toward the Red States as they view these states with suspension and fear. During the 2008 election, Mein Obama had this to say about the MARs who inhabit Red States:

"You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are going to regenerate and they have not.

"And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

MARs that inhabit America may not come from the Red Planet, but to Black people, Red States are much worse. They have given birth to people who question Barack Obama's right to be president through the Birther Movement; white people who still long for Pre-Obama America; and the Tea Party Tax Day protests that have even seeped into Blue States.

The Henry Louis Gates incident showed that the MARs attack Sam Francis believed would take place in the 1990s was projected a decade early and Black people understand exactly what set off the negative reactions to the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue: his race.

MARs might not admit it yet, but the reason they are attacking from Red States is because they believe an alien to Pre-Obama America is now leading them and their beloved nation into ruin.

MARs used to have FOX News Channel to contain their anger, but even that channel is no longer enough to hold off the attack.

The debate about Universal Healthcare has set-off a massive amount of protests from white people, who will pay the tax burden of that proposed system where everyone will insured:

"Those whites that you see at the health care meetings, that was really Ronald Reagan's America," said John Kenneth White, a presidential scholar at the Catholic University of America and author of the newly published "Barack Obama's America: How New Conceptions of Race, Family and Religion Ended the Reagan Era."

"Reagan's California exists today only on the commemorative license plate. That California that elected him governor twice and president twice is no more," White said. He believes some of the anger behind the health care debate is from "a sense that power has shifted in the country, and the country they thought they knew doesn't exist anymore."

Names like Jeremiah Wright, Van Jones and even Barack Obama fuel the fire that threatens to turn into a conflagaration of MARs anger throughout America:

Van Jones said: "The American way, manufactuered by these white folks in office. By these rich men here to mock us. The United States is a stolen land led by right-wing, war hungry, oil thirsty. And when it's all said and done they still can't clean their own place because they got people of color playing servant to do that sh*t for them... The true terrorists are made in the US, in this police state..."

Disingenuous white liberals find the MARs Attacking threat to be a burden and worthy of condescension:

"So the birthers, the anti-tax tea-partiers, the town hall hecklers -- these are "either" the genuine grass roots or evil conspirators staging scenes for YouTube? The quiver on the lips of the man pushing the wheelchair, the crazed risk of carrying a pistol around a president -- too heartfelt to be an act. The lockstep strangeness of the mad lies on the protesters' signs -- too uniform to be spontaneous. They are both. If you don't understand that any moment of genuine political change always produces both, you can't understand America, where the crazy tree blooms in every moment of liberal ascendancy, and where elites exploit the crazy for their own narrow interests."

However, Black people know better. They sense in these movements that arise from Red States an omninous warning to THE AGE OF OBAMA and understand that the economic meltdown of the country and the desire to further tax white people to pay for the 40 million uninsured - and largely Black -is finally opening a few eyes.

The fact that Mein Obama has appointed people of his race to public office that hold views that would make George Wallace blush is finally driving MARs to attack.

Even Mein Obama speaking to school children has been met with historic animosity from MARs attackers:

"But the public resentment toward Barack Obama that has been bubbling under the surface has finally boiled over.

The purely racist actions by local and national school systems is a sign of tumultuous times ahead for Obama and his administration. According to online reports, local school principals have ordered teachers not to show a planned Obama address to schoolchildren on Tuesday, Sept. 8."

Stuff Black People Don't Like includes MARs Attacking, for the road to THE AGE OF OBAMA was once paved with the same gold as the yellow brick road, but now, white people are beginning to see the man behind the curtain:

"One black congressman, Rep. Charles B. Rangel (D-N.Y.), was quoted last week alleging that opposition to Obama's healthcare policies was "a bias, a prejudice, an emotional feeling."

"Some Americans have not gotten over the fact that Obama is president of the United States. They go to sleep wondering, 'How did this happen?' " Rangel said, according to the New York Post."

MARs Attacking is an idea that Sam Francis believed would come at some point, and it is precisely this idea that Black people do not like for we are seeing a Red State invasion unfold before our eyes. And this time, what the radio is broadcasting is not Halloween prank.

And remember, it all started with Sarah Palin.
