Did you know the 82 percent black city of Detroit receives about $290 million annually from 71 different grants (some from our beloved Department of Justice, others from our cherished Department of Housing and Urban Development).
$290 million annually (if you were wondering, more than 10,000 charities perform humanitarian missions to Haiti...).
The taxpayer was already bailing out the 82 percent black city of Detroit, funding the perfidious black-run government to the tune of slightly north of a quarter of billion dollars a year.
This type of infusion of outside capital is required when the 82 percent black citizens of the city lack civic pride and socials virtue to the tune of only one half of the citizenry actually paying property taxes.
$290 million annually, the combined amount of taxpayer money going to Detroit even before it went bankrupt. [Orr to name group to oversee grants as Detroit gears up for more fed funds:Efforts also gear up in D.C. to provide Detroit with more funding, Detroit News, 8-13-13]:
Detroit’s Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr is working to hire a group to oversee the city’s federal grant money, while federal officials are looking at ways to offer additional aid to the city through grant programs.
Orr met last week with U.S. Sen. Carl Levin about federal grant programs that could aid the city and he told the Detroit Democrat that the city is planning to announce as early as this week the hiring of a group to help oversee the city’s grant funding, said Bill Nowling, a spokesman for Orr.
The city receives about $290 million annually in 71 different grants — from community development block grants to Justice Department funding for police. Nowling noted the city at various times has misspent grant funding or been out of compliance with grant requirements.
The group also would help ensure the city is in compliance with all grant requirements.A June 5 internal report on Detroit’s grant management status noted “every grant-receiving department in the city has performance issues,” many of which are flagged in annual audits.
In November 2011, for example, the city forfeited more than $9 million in weatherization funding because it didn’t spend the money.Levin said he thinks the Obama administration wants to aid Detroit — though he made clear no program will help Detroit address the $18.5 billion debt it cited when filing for bankruptcy, the largest city in U.S. history to do so.You know President Obama would gladly sign a check in the amount of $18.5 billion if he could, having no problem confiscating more wealth from the taxpayer and redistributing it the 82 percent black city of Detroit.
Plenty of children in that city look like the son he never had.
For those continuing to heap the blame for Detroit's collapse on 'liberal policies', 'Democrats', a 'culture of dependency', or some other incoherent rationale, allow the words of Rev. Albert Cleage Jr. - the man who wrote The Black Messiah, which depicted Jesus as a black revolutionary leader - to wash away years of carefully crafted color-blind propaganda.
Prior to the black takeover of the city in 1973 (when the black population had displaced whites as the majority population of Detroit and could democratically elect their own people), Rev. Cleage was a major leader of the radical Group on Advanced Leadership (GOAL) -- one of the many black nationalist groups in Detroit, which stressed the importance of black political power in areas where blacks where in the majority:
"We can vote black and we can control political structures in any area in which we are a majority. This is a reality, and it's exactly the same thing that whites would do if they were black." Blacks would soon be a majority in Detroit, the Reverend Mr. Cleage stated, and "by voting black we can elect a black mayor, a black council and a black school board." A black candidate's only necessary qualification, according to Cleage, was that he be "devoted to the black nation, putting his dedication to black people first."(p. 207, Detroit: Race and Uneven Development, edited by Joe T. Darden)Why did 82 percent black Detroit need $290 million annually (before the bankruptcy declaration!) from 71 different grants, to fund the city and provide services?
Because, as the prophetic words of Rev. Cleage made clear, blacks did become the majority in Detroit, and by exercising political force (voting), they elected black mayor after mayor, a majority black council again and again, and took control of the school board.
Qualifications didn't matter, as long as the office-seeker was black and the the candidate was "devoted to the black nation."
That is the reason Detroit died and that is the reason Detroit survives on 71 grants totaling $290 million dollars a year.
The lessons in Detroit's collapse are painful only to those who still cling to egalitarian thoughts, the type of dogma normally reserved for children who dream of a visit from Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, or the Tooth Fairy.
The lessons in Detroit's collapse will fall on deaf ears to those who still wish to blame some invisible boogie man who keeps black people perpetually imprisoned on the 'liberal plantation'.
As Rev. Cleage made clear, the political, economic, and moral situation in 82 percent Black Detroit is simple to diagnose: By voting black, Detroit's destiny aligned with blackness.
