Sen. Jamilah Nasheed had suggested at a press conference earlier Thursday that the teen had been shot in the back of the head, but the autopsy did not find any gunshots to the back of Myers' head.
About two dozen protesters outside Police Headquarters on Thursday morning called for a Department of Justice investigation of Wednesday night's shooting.
Identifying themselves as part of the Michael Brown Leadership Coalition, they also suggested that the governor appoint a blue-ribbon commission to look at this case.
Members of the group said the focus should be on why the officer singled out Myers in the first place.
"This was a case of racial profiling turned deadly," Nasheed alleged.
Nasheed stood with Dotson and Mayor Francis Slay at a press conference recently calling for stiffer penalties against those carrying illegal guns.
Minister Akbar Muhammad, international representative for the Nation Of Islam, said, "There is a culture of cover-up on the police department." He suggested that Dotson was supporting the officer Wednesday night before he talked to Myers' family and could possibly have had all the facts.
"It makes it look like he was just defending himself? Give me a break," Muhammad said.
An attorney, Jerryl Christmas, suggested, "There is no epidemic of black officers shooting white kids, but there is an epidemic of white officers shooting black kids."
He said police are too quick to resort to deadly force.Let's take a look at how USA Today writer Yamiche Alcindor describes the situation in St. Louis, herself an activist for "Justice for Mike Brown" (obviously, an objective reporter...). [Ferguson tensions rise after second shooting, USA Today, 10-10-14]:
This data should help you understand why a white police officer correctly decided to confront Vonderrit Myers.
Remember, out of 318,000 people, St. Louis is 49.2 percent black 43.9 percent white (as of 2010 US Census).

Anything different in 2008? No:
2009? Is it still almost all-black? Yes:
Please, tell me 2010 is different...:
2011? Same old song:
According to 2012 Metropolitan Police Department, City of St. Louis: Annual Report to the Community:
A thick fog envelops all of America.
Until we dare confront this fog, our future as a nation will be anything but uncertain: it will nothing more than Detroit, East St. Louis, Memphis, Gary (Indiana), Camden, Birmingham, or Newark.
Violent crime in St. Louis is a one-race problem, that those white people still trying to keep civilization alive in the city do everything possible to keep out of their neighborhoods and communities. [Public police, private employer: A St. Louis oddity, St. Louis Post-Distpatch, 10-10-14]
This is why white people abandoned St. Louis (and hire off-duty white cops to patrol their neighborhoods); this is why white people abandon suburbs of St. Louis that attract black people fleeing the black crime of St. Louis; and the pattern continues...
In closing, let's just quote James Kirkpatrick at VDare.com on the United States flag burning incident blacks participated in as they protested Vonderrit Myers death:
Protesters in St. Louis, unhappy that blacks are not allowed to murder police officers, are now burning American flags as they riot in the city.
It’s worth noting that despite having the de facto support of the most powerful government in the world, the symbolic prize of the most powerful office in the world, the enthusiastic support of the Department of Justice, and the slavish support of the media, these African-Americans still feel oppressed and have no sense of allegiance or loyalty to the United States of America.
Which of course raises the question–having already essentially dismantled the entire country in order to protect the self-esteem of nonwhites, what more is the historic American nation expected to do?What more are white people expected to do, Mr. Kirkpatrick?
Remain lost in the fog we all know is there yet refrain from pointing out exists (though we do hire off-duty cops to keep our neighborhoods safe, and if this fails retreat to the nearest all-white suburb to be freed from the type of community "Vonderrit Myers" and their enablers create).
More importantly: continue to allow blacks to monologue whites for their racist past and present, and ensure the future is one where white cops aren't even allowed to arrest black suspects (if white people are allowed to be cops at all).
