In Birmingham, They Love the Governor

In the book “Gray Lady Down: What the Decline and Fall of the New York Times Means for America,” an important quote is attributed to Howell Raines, the editorial page director of paper.

On. p.29, we learn:
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Raines had sat on the sidelines during the mid-sixties civil rights demonstrations there, leaving him with a lifelong sense of Southern guilt and a determination never again to shrink from declaring his beliefs and opinions. Embracing a simplistic, perhaps even Manichean political vision, he once declared that “Every Southerner must choose between two psychic roads, the road of racism or the road of brotherhood.”
Birmingham tried white racism; then it went all Black. That failed too.
The road of racism or the road of brotherhood.  The road less taken, or something like. Right Frost?

Birmingham was once the capital of the South, but then the combined forces of ABC/CBS/NBC and the New York Times worked to showcase the city as one on the verge of racial Armageddon, where police dogs and water hoses kept Black people in their place.

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- The Alabama Department of Education will take over the Birmingham school system on Wednesday after the Birmingham Board of Education tonight declined to pass a cost-cutting plan. After months of stalling and delaying a state financial plan that included mass layoffs, the Birmingham Board of Education officially rejected it tonight. State Superintendent Tommy Bice said during a telephone interview tonight -- after a more than three-hour Birmingham school board meeting -- that he will formally intervene in the district's operations Wednesday morning. The intervention will include the appointment of a chief executive officer and chief financial officer who will run the day-to-day operations of the district.
"Because of the resolution that was passed by the state Board of Education, we will begin full intervention tomorrow," Bice said. The state school board authorized Bice nearly two weeks ago to intervene in Birmingham's operations if it failed to pass a financial plan at tonight's board meeting.

It should be noted that the enrollment of Birmingham City School System is 98 percent Black; outside of a smattering of Teach for America overly-energetic white faces, an over-whelming tide of Blackness performs the task of educating, administrating, managing, and leading the system.

The fault of Birmingham’s fall-from-grace rests solely in its Black character (whose content we can not judge):

Superintendent of the Birmingham School System? Craig Witherspoon.
African American.
Mayor of Birmingham? William A Bell.  From the picture, unless Mayor Bell is an alpaca, he's an African American.
Chief of Police? Chief A. L. Roper.  Native son of Birmingham who made good. African American.
City Council?  Seven of nine are African-American.
School Board? Seven of nine are African American.
County Commissioners?  Half of them are African-American.

The road of racism attempted to keep Black people from assuming political control in Birmingham; now with Jefferson County (home to 71 percent Black Birmingham) declaring the largest municipal bankruptcy in American history, one wonders what the road of brotherhood that was begrudgingly forced on the city actually achieved.

When compared to Atlanta, a city that purportedly walked hand in hand together down the path of brotherhood (though for those paying attention to SBPDL, the inverse of this is actually true), Birmingham seems stuck in 1st gear. When discussing why Charlotte was beginning to usurp Atlanta as the top city in the South, Atlanta’s Black Mayor Kasim Reed said:

Reed compared the situation to the early 1960s when Birmingham was the southern leader in commerce, but lost that title to Atlanta because of its attitude on civil rights. See: Alabama Gov. George Wallace and Birmingham police Chief Eugene “Bull” Connor.
Atlanta, the mayor noted, was more progressive. “Birmingham has never caught up since,” Reed said.

Atlanta went down the road of brotherhood for as long as the road would take them; as we have repeatedly shown, that road was paved with good intentions, masked as a racial truce called “The Atlanta Way.”

Always remember: the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Now, with Metro Atlanta drowning in sea of underwater mortgages (courtesy of the Black Gold Rush to The Black Mecca), the AJC publishes this dire story the same day Birmingham School System – 98 percent Black, mind you – gets taken over by the state of Alabama:

Atlanta is in crisis. That's not the message you'd expect to hear from the Metro Atlanta Chamber, the pro-business group that usually puts a cheerful face on the region's future. But it's at the heart of a plan the group unveiled Monday to jump-start the region's economy. The stark description is a focus of the "Forward Atlanta" initiative, a plan developed for the chamber to help the region regain its mojo. It puts more of an emphasis on fostering startups and developing businesses already here rather than luring companies to relocate.
"Part of the problem is because we grew so fast for so long that even when we settled down, it doesn't feel normal," said Roger Tutterow, a Mercer University economics professor who said "crisis" is an exaggeration. "Once you go from being toward the top of the heap toward more middle of the pack it feels like unfamiliar territory."
Sam Williams, the chamber's president, said, "It's very simple: This is the worst economic downturn in our lifetime and Atlanta is lagging in the recovery. If you're in a crisis, the first thing you've got to do is admit you have a crisis. And that's what we're doing. If you don't have a big and bold plan to get out of it, then our economy won't recover until 2020 or beyond."
The business leaders come armed with daunting figures. Metro Atlanta is only expected to recover about 19 percent of the jobs it lost during the recession by the year's end, the chamber said, far behind many of its regional and national rivals. And the region has lost almost as many jobs as it created since 2000, growing only about 50,000 jobs during the decade. It's a far cry from the booming 1990s, when Atlanta added 70,000 jobs to 80,000 jobs a year. (Business boosters admit Atlanta in 'crisis' amid effort to boost city's economy,Greg Bluestein, June 25, 2012)

Metro Atlanta was once home to white flight communities, which fueled economic growth in the suburbs of The City too Busy to Hate that became the envy of the nation; now, it is increasingly home to Black refugees, descendants of those who partook in the Great Migration of Southern Blacks out of the South, who now return back South because they have helped destroy the economic vitality of cities like Detroit, Buffalo, St. Louis, Cleveland, and parts of Chicago.

With Black people flocking to Atlanta, the Visible Hand of Blackness descends upon a metro area, threatening to make each area that goes majority Black just another reminder of why The Bluff is a shining example of “progressive” thinking (Blight of the Living Dead, Jim Goad, TakiMag):
If you’re visiting Atlanta and aren’t looking to be shot in the face, swarmed by smack dealers, stopped by cops merely for being white, or set ablaze by an HIV-positive crackhead squatter, stay away from the area known as “The Bluff.” There are several more wholesome attractions only a few blocks southwest in downtown: At tourist traps such as the World of Coca-Cola, the CNN Studio, and the Georgia Aquarium, the thrills are more benign than being slit in the throat with a box-cutter.
“The Bluff” covers two Atlanta neighborhoods officially known as English Avenue and Vine City. Part of Vine City was designated in 2010 as America’s fifth-most-dangerous area. Some say The Bluff got its name because its narrow, hilly, one-way streets give it a fortress-like sense of isolation, but locals now boast that BLUFF means Better Leave U Fucking Fool. It is bounded on the east by Northside Drive and on its three other sides by roads named after black Georgia civil-rights leaders: Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard, and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. It is therefore a testament to the, er, accomplishments of black Georgia civil-rights leaders.
“Every Southerner must choose between two psychic roads, the road of racism or the road of brotherhood.”

So said Howell Raines.

The road of brotherhood in Atlanta birthed the Black Hole; based on the fact that Birmingham is now a majority Black city, strangely resembling 90 % Black Detroit in its decrepit state, one can realize that not just Southerners, but every American needs another road to go down.

Left to their own devices, Black people become an economic burden to productive people (primarily, white tax payers), who must forever work and see their wealth redistributed as punishment for their white guilt.

This system won’t last forever.

There is another way.

Blacks should realize that desire to govern does not equal ability to govern.

There was a quote by someone whose name escapes me as I type this that said something to the effect that blacks are not fit to govern.

Detroit, Atlanta, Birmingham...to name only 3..are shining examples of those words in action.

These folks are also taking the reigns in rural communities and doing the same things, albeit on a smaller scale and driving municipalities into the ground with sheer and unmitigated stupidity. Not fit to govern, indeed!

Question about "Brotherhood"? How similar are the races? With new advances in DNA and new discoveries debunking past assumptions such as "Out of Africa" are we really that similar?

It would seem to me that every other human race is at least related in harboring some Neanderthal genes. Sub Saharan Africans have none.

DWL use race in terms of Social Construct and Genetics as suits them. I would think those of us who can see would be able to do at least that.

53GR says:
So what's the other way? I can't see US citizens agreeing to forced deportation of a racial group (especially since we can't even forcefully deport illegal aliens).
Also, what do you define as "Black"? Many Blacks have White genetic material (product of miscegenation). Even if you prevent failed cities from receiving outside funds to shore them up, the incarceration rate will still be a tremendous burden.

I call it the "Shit Corollary"

It's a very simple, yet very elegant set of equations.

Less White = Shit Conditions
More Black = Shit Conditions
More Brown = Shit Conditions
More Yellow = Not Quite As Shit Conditions

The beauty of the "Shit Corollary" is that it's an Historical/Relative/Racial Model that can NOT be refuted!

Anonymous said : "There was a quote by someone whose name escapes me as I type this that said something to the effect that blacks are not fit to govern."

It was probably Jefferson Davis :

A People Not Fit to Govern Themselves

“The condition of slavery with us is, in a word, Mr. President, nothing but the form of civil government instituted for a class of people not fit to govern themselves. It is exactly what in every State exists in some form or other. It is just that kind of control which is extended in every northern State over its convicts, its lunatics, its minors, its apprentices. It is but a form of civil government for those who by their nature are not fit to govern themselves. We recognize the fact of the inferiority stamped upon that race of men by the Creator, and from the cradle to the grave, our Government, as a civil institution, marks that inferiority.”

United States Senator Jefferson C. Davis (Mississippi)

From : Real American Racism - Our History Lesson In Our Own Words

The above is actually quite a ripping good read from "The Berkely Daily Planet." There are a bevy of interesting topics covered such as : The Nature of the Negro, and the Difference Between Whites and Blacks, The Right of the Negro to Govern White Men, and Slavery Is a Good. All the information comes from Southerners like John C. Calhoun and Thomas Jefferson.

Why do you keep referring to American Negroes with the "politically correct" terminology, "African-American"?

Isn't that misapplication of English language both excluding and insulting to the Caucasian refugees and/or immigrants born in Africa who have now become good American citizens?

By the way, why is it we never hear of any trouble from the WHITE "African-American" community?

Personally, I'm fed up with our English language being perverted by Marxist inspired "political correctness", as the use of it also deliberately distorts American history.

Jefferson Davis had the right idea about Alabama porch monkeys. Here are some thoughts on the matter from none other than The Duke, John Wayne (born Marion Morrison):
"I believe in white supremacy until the blacks are educated to a point of responsibility. I don't believe in giving authority and positions of leadership and judgment to irresponsible people."

I used to think that quote made John Wayne a racist. Now I realize he was merely a realist. Gandhi reportedly also despised him some moolies.

Blacks are great at marching, protesting, and conveying self-absorbed sob stories. Oh, to be so talented and black, yet to be held down, yada yada. Not too good at anything else, however. No good at anything of substance, it appears. The cities they get to be in charge of just fall down, one after another like so many tenpins.

Anonymous said...

There was a Senator from South Carolina (whose name escapes me right now) who said that if the black man was granted freedom, the blacks would become a permanent underclass requiring constant support from the white majority. His words have been proven true beyond any shadow of doubt and no argument can be made that can dispute the reality he spoke of as we can see the proof everyday in every city in America.
There is no logical reason to continue to support an incompetent underclass through housing, welfare, ebt cards or other forms of support. To each according to his efforts, to each according to his abilities. If blacks cannot succeed and thrive on their own efforts and abilities, then let them fail and suffer the consequences.
The only problem with such a scenario is that the blacks will never accept being responsible for their own condition. This would lead to even greater heights of criminality, thuggery and attacks upon whites and others. The chimp outs would be massive, sustained and nationwide.
This problem will result eventually in any case as the black population continues to increase along with the massive financial drain upon the nation. However, there will come a time when they simply CANNOT be supported even if DWL's desire to do so. This is inevitable. All we are doing is delaying the day of reckoning.
Put simply, that day of reckoning is coming and the truth is the only thing we will be able to do is shoot them down in the streets. It's the only option we will have.

Everyone here is, by now, familiar with how Robert Mugabe took what was once the nation of Rhodesia―known then as "Africa's breadbasket"―and turned it into Zimbabwe, where displaced White farmers have seen their land go to ruin, the result of which is that this once great African nation now receives famine relief while a loaf of bread costs one trillion dollars and the government recently issued a 100-Trillion-Dollar Bill.

Yet, during meetings of the ANC (African National Congress) not a peep of indignation or censure is uttered about Mugabe's rape and looting of his country.

This is the "no snitch" policy operating at an international level and epitomises Black solidarity with its usual disastrous results.

Most of the Tec-9's are in the ghetto; they're short-range weapons anyway.  TNB will be answered with the White man's arsenal, which goes from Browning Hi-Powers to Glocks to Brownings and Mossbergs to AR-15s, SKSs and AKs, and 30.06 rifles from the Browning BAR to the M-1 Springfield.

I'm sure even the Ruger 10-22 will account for its share; the targets may not drop on the spot unless taken with head shots, but bleeding out a few hours later is still a kill.

You do realize that the US regime - even under the "conservative" Jorge W. Busheron - supported and propped up Mugabe with food aid. Not only that, there are countless numbers of "Christian" organizations funneling aid to Zimbabwe to keep Mugabe and his ZANU-PF thugs from facing mobs of starving Zimbabweans. I'm a devotee of the truth.  False, inaccurate or misleading statements can lead to error and harm down the line, no matter what they're about.  Or should we allow platygeans to go unchallenged here if they are also race-realists?  There's company I'd rather not keep, and echo-chamber social dynamics in general are damaging.

He also appears to single me out for his picayune ministrations which gets perilously close to cyber-stalking.

You should be so lucky.  When YOU post such a large fraction of the total comments and even more of the total word count ("the Zenster show" was someone's take on it), you have to expect that people are going to respond to you a lot.  It comes with the territory.

What's ironic is that not even addressing you, just riffing on a comment in a way that might get people to think about their options (like having a gun dealer buy a crate of Ruger 10-22's to split between the local shopowners) attracts such vituperation.  You can't even state clearly why you object to it.  If you can't justify your reaction, people are going to start thinking that you might have a problem.  It's a small step from there to think that maybe "race realists" really are just the kooks the Left says they are.

You could do worse damage to cohesion here, but it's hard to see how.

If you feel like putting a filter on your browser to strip out all comments by Mr. Rational (I believe Greasemonkey can do this), please, be my guest.  I won't get under your skin if you pay me no attention.

I have a few more ideas for "It's hard to see" billboards:

"It's hard to see White privilege when you've been shot through the neck and killed by a Black man" with a picture of Brittney Watts.

"It's hard to see White privilege when you've been raped and beaten to death by a Black man", with a picture of Nancy Strait.

"It's hard to see White privilege when any non-White gets hired ahead of me, and I have student loans to pay" with a picture of a White boy wearing a graduation robe and mortarboard.

A few like that would shut those Duluth Marxists up pretty quick.  Maybe a few more about the hate-crime hoaxes Muslims like to pull, so when the Somalis try something on them folks can say "Yeah, right... you did that least year".

More, written across a picture of a White person's face:

"I'm not followed in stores because I don't steal."

"People aren't afraid of me because I don't rob or assault."

"People hire me because my teachers didn't pass me because of my race."

"My neighborhood is good because it's full of people who behave like me."

These things practically write themselves.

Paul,

The website "The Death of Johannesburg"
blogspot.com/ ),
supports everything you've ever said about dead American cities, except that this one is in South Africa. Really depressing. In particular, the before and after pictures of Oppenheimer Park are quite poignant.

Zenster: If you are referring to the vandalism of that Unfair campaign sign, please pause for a moment and consider whether that might have been a "false flag" operation with the intent of drawing unmerited sympathy and unearned credibility.

We see this all the time with Muslims who deface their own mosques or send each other hate mail so that they can screech to the media.

Actually, while Muslims pull this type false-flag operation, the biggest abusers are in fact blacks. There's a whole category devoted to "fake hate crimes" at Unamusement Park, for example. It happens all the time. In fact, I would lay odds that there is at least a 50 percent chance that the "vandalism" was carried out by the creators of the billboards or some of their Marxist allies for the specific purpose of creating "proof" that this propaganda campaign is needed.

Zenster: Why do you act as though I ever voted for Bush 2.0? I could never stand him and he is only marginally less treasonous than 0bama. Both have sold us out to the Muslims and Hispanics. They both can fry in hell for it.

That part of my remark wasn't addressed so much to you as it is to those who read these thread who might be inclined to think (after listening to someone like the idiot Limbaugh) that voting Republican is going to help the situation. For what it's worth, you seem to be more aware than most folks of the fact that we have a single ruling party here in the Banksta Banana Republick.

Zenster, I really don't want to start or perpetuate a flame war here, so this will be my only response to your "purchase a clue" comment.

re: Ivan Shatov launched a broadside of discourteous ad hominem attacks without bothering to substantiate his own assertions, something that I did try to do upon request. That sort of fallacious pseudo-logic has no place at a factually based site like this.

Not exactly. He called your assertion (not you) cow dung. You flamed him for not proving his criticism. I pointed out that you had offered no evidence for your assertion. That was not a request for proof, just pointing out that your criticism of him was baseless. You responded with an argument in support of your assertion that was riddled with fallacies. I know that you're not stupid, I'm sure that you recognise the fallacies; I'm just not sure why you thought that we wouldn't.

It's all meaningless anyway. Whether or not humans are perfectible is a religious question. There are no empirical data that can prove it one way or another. The fact that it hasn't happened yet might suggest to some that it's not likely to happen in our lifetimes. Just as the fact that some men have not died yet may not be enough to disprove the assertion that all men are mortal. So, actually, it's your original assertion that "has no place at a factually based site like this" [no emphasis added].

The fact is, you're just pissed that people would dare to disagree with you. You really need to take yourself less seriously. Frankly, you're starting to look unhinged.

AnalogMan: Not exactly.

Yes, exactly. They were ad hominem attacks or I would not have called them that.

Whether or not humans are perfectible is a religious question. There are no empirical data that can prove it one way or another.

But there are philosophical arguments that can be made which reveal either logic or its absence.

Original Sin does not occupy the first category. While only a projection, again, I will ask you to consider this simple thought experiment.

If mankind manages to survive for another millennium or two, is it even imaginable that TNB will be tolerated, much less even around at all?

By then, some combination of behavior modification, genetic modification or simple eugenics will have been used to eliminate it. That is, if Blacks have been able to make it that far into the future at all.

Speaking of flame wars, you might wish to direct some of your wisdom to Mr. Rational. His little sideswipe about the Van Allen belts is the sort of uncalled for antagonistic crap I'm talking about. His intentional mischarecterization is the sort of stuff that can really turn off participants.

"Sweet Home Alabama" was a response to Neil Young's "Southern Man" which praised the idea of blacks burning The South to the ground;

Southern man
Better keep your head
Don't forget
What your good book said
Southern change
Gonna come at last
Now your crosses
Are burning fast
Southern man

I saw cotton
And I saw black
Tall white mansions
And little shacks.
Southern man
When will you
Pay them back?
I heard screamin'
And bullwhips cracking
How long? How long?

Southern man
Better keep your head
Don't forget
What your good book said
Southern change
Gonna come at last
Now your crosses
Are burning fast
Southern man

Lily Belle,
Your hair is golden brown
I've seen your black man
Comin' round
Swear by God
I'm gonna cut him down!
I heard screamin'
And bullwhips cracking
How long? How long?

Thank you. As usual, we are largely in violent, raucous agreement.

Breaking the political stranglehold that is currently in place remains a top priority. Our scumbag "leadership" has literally made it such that any attempt to do so will bring down the entire system in an "all or nothing" sort of deal. We may have to come up with our own type of "Samson Option".

"No Naggers" likely refers to the tv show Southpark who had an episode on racism and pop culture.

Now I really want to see a serious anti-"unfair" billboard go up in Duluth.  Preferably monitored by cameras.  The same false-flag operators who pulled the pseudo-vandalism operation would be unable to resist attacking it, and nailing their a**es would be a coup of major proportions.

Ummm no... actually Richmond was the capitol of the South.

Till them yankees came with their War of Northern Aggression and killed all of those good genteel southern folk.

Mostly I blame it on Lincoln who was a most uncordial man; ordering his troops to burn homes, rape belles, and slay vampires.
