A Death in the (Auburn) Family

America could be saved tomorrow: Ban College Football (like Malcolm Gladwell has suggested)
The faster they run, the more touchdowns they make, the whiter they get! (as quoted in Charles H. Martin's Benching Jim Crow: The Rise and Fall of the Color Line in Southern College Sports, 1890-1980 (Sport and Society) -- An Auburn University Board of Trustees member in the late 1960s. Auburn would integrate its football team in 1970, when James Owens became the first Black player to wear the Orange and Blue. Now, Auburn University - like most Southeastern Conference (SEC) members schools - primarily recruits Black high school athletes. New member Texas A&M had a recruiting class of 22 players in 2012; only one was white.

Please also read this article on Georgia Tech and legendary coach Bobby Dodd; this article on the University of Georgia and Earl Warren; and this article on Auburn University and the University of Alabama: the state of Alabama's major cities (Birmingham, Montgomery, and Mobile) are hell-holes, a reminder of the majority Black population that now lords of these cities that white people have fled from. However, both schools recruit Black athletes for the beloved football programs from these very cities they have fled.

The Opiate of America: College Football in Black and White will be coming out in late July of this year. In it, you will begin to see why ostensibly conservative white people tolerate Black dysfunction in America: because they believe that only Black athletes can play a sport they base their entire life around - and live vicariously through - in college football.

It's sad. It's depressing (and it rivals the Afrikaners obsession with rugby which ultimately doomed their nation: remember, South Africa was barred from International Rugby as long as Apartheid existed), and the horrible state of Birmingham, Montgomery, Atlanta, Savannah, Columbus, Mobile, Memphis, Augusta, and Macon is excused away as long as 17 and 18-year-old Black recruits can be plucked away from the mean streets and enticed to play college football for Alabama, Georgia (UGA), Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Florida State, or Auburn University.

Blacks who have no academic business attending even a for-profit college are allowed to attend these institutions as "partial qualifiers" because we have been led to believe that teams full of virtually illiterate Blacks are the only route to a National Championship.

It's funny: Malcolm Gladwell and Buzz Bussinger (author of Friday Night Lights) have recently argued that college football should be banned. But don't they realize if college football is banned, instantaneously you deprive the only positive images that most people will ever have of Black people (since they wear the beloved colors and jersey of their alma mater). At Southeastern Conference (SEC) schools, the student body of the 14-member schools are overwhelmingly white, with only a sprinkling of Black faces tossed in (Billy Hawkins book The New Plantation points out that in 2008, the UGA football team was 72 percent Black, yet the student body population - more than 33,000 - was only 2 percent Black male).

Maureen Downey of the Atlanta Journal Constitution was honest enough to write an article titled Without Affirmative Action for Athletes, fewer football stars on the field:
What do you call a Division I school that doesn’t lower its admission standards to admit star athletes?
Probably 0-12.
While many people condemn any consideration of race in college admissions, few complain about the routine acceptance of lower-performing student athletes admitted because of their outstanding abilities on the field rather than in the classroom.
In an investigation three years ago of admission standards for athletes, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution found that football players average 220 points lower on the SAT than their classmates — and men’s basketball players average seven points less than football players.
At the University of Georgia, the average football SAT was 949, which was 239 points behind the average for an undergraduate student at Georgia at the time. The Bulldogs’ average high school GPA was 2.77, or 45th out of 53 big-time college teams for which football GPAs were available.
The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision last week to revisit the issue of race-conscience admissions policies is sparking new discussions of admission standards and deviations.
The court last addressed race in the 2003 Grutter v. Bollinger decision. In a 5-4 vote, the court upheld the affirmative action admissions policy of the University of Michigan Law School, saying that the Constitution “does not prohibit the law school’s narrowly tailored use of race in admissions decisions to further a compelling interest in obtaining the educational benefits that flow from a diverse student body.”
UGA is a school that prides itself on having high admissions to earn acceptance to the university -- unless you are a Black football player. Then, you get a "special admit" because most Black males in America don't have the acumen to produce the necessary grades and SAT/ACT score in high school to get in.

Oh, and Mrs. Downey: didn't a Boise State team that started 16 whites crush a UGA team that started 20 Blacks in 2011? Yes, they did.

If you remove college football from the university experience, automatically you no longer have a perceived need to recruit Black athletes (who some people have claimed, most notably William Rhoden, that they are exploited without monetary gain)? Forget for a second that Black males mature faster than white males -- giving them that huge boost when it comes to high school recruiting; why would you need to stack Black athletes in classes - as North Carolina did in its African and Afro-American studies program, which is under intense investigation for academic fraud - if you eliminated football?

In 2008 - according to Billy Hawkins - Auburn University's football team was 50 percent Black; the Black male enrollment - of 26,000 students - was 4%. So, if Auburn's football team had 110 players, and 50 percent were Black, you are looking at potentially 6% of this Black male enrollment being there explicitly for football. Auburn is a school that is more than 90 percent white.

As Walk-On by former Auburn Black football player Thom Grissom makes clear, it was only the integration of the football team that started to see an augmentation of the Black student body population to the school. Well, that and the threat of suits by the federal government, a point made in Bigger than the Game by Michael Weinreb.

In 2011, three Black football players and one white (a hilariously inept wigger) were arrested for armed robbery. They used the gun of fellow teammate Michael Dyer (a Black guy who was kicked-off the Auburn football team), who was the hero of the 2011 BCS National Championship game. Here's the story:
Auburn University head football coach Gene Chizik wasted little time in reacting to the news that four of his players had been arrested and charged with robbery, burglary and theft of property Friday.
He made them four former Auburn players.
Chizik said in a statement Friday that Antonio Goodwin, Shaun Kitchens, Mike McNeil and Dakota Mosley are “permanently dismissed from our football team” after the four were arrested and each charged with five counts of first-degree robbery, one count of first-degree burglary and one count of third-degree theft of property stemming from an incident early Friday morning.
Today, we learned of a rare murder in Auburn, Alabama - an oasis of whiteness in East Alabama, surrounded by a sea of Blackness reliant on EBT/Food Stamp's to survive - involving, well, Black people. Invariably, it was imported (recruited) Black football players - well, one player and two former players - that were involved:
Auburn police chief Tommy Dawson says the Auburn football players shot at an apartment complex Saturday night should only be considered victims in an incident that has claimed three lives, including those of two former players.

Dawson said Desmonte Leonard is the suspect in the shooting, and he has no affiliation with Auburn University.

"Let me point that out, the only connection the Auburn football team have to this is they are victims of a brutal shooting," Dawson said. "Sometimes the young men get a bad rap. But they're the victims. It's not just about the Auburn football players. It's about the other young men who have been injured, especially about the young man fighting for his life at UAB today. That's what this is about. That's why you do this job, for the victims."

Killed in the incident were former Auburn players Ed Christian and Ladarious Phillips, and Auburn resident DeMario Pitts.

Wounded were current Auburn player Eric Mack. Dawson said John Robertson is "fighting for his life" at UAB hospital in Birmingham, Dawson said. Dawson said Xavier Moss was treated and released.
This is a scene that sounds like it should be from 71 percent Black Birmingham, where Auburn University recruits for its football team and where A&E shoots regularly for its hit show The First 48. This type of wanton Black violence happens daily in cities where white alumni of Auburn University (or any SEC or ACC school) chose to live far from -- think nearly all-white Hoover or Mountain Brook to Black-run Birmingham.

But because this happens to be a death in the (Auburn) family that includes Black thugs shooting at one another, it automatically is something we must worry about.

No one has asked this question, "but why were Auburn football players hanging out with DeMario Pitts, a Black thug who killed his own cousin in an accidental shooting on March 19?":
An Auburn High School sophomore is dead after what Auburn police are saying appears to have been an accidental shooting.
Jamon Baker, 15, was killed by a single gunshot wound to the chest Sunday evening, according to Auburn police.
A police report stated that shots were fired in the 800 block of Lunsford Drive in Auburn at approximately 7 p.m. Sunday. Police responding to the scene were flagged down by the occupants of a vehicle on North Donahue Drive attempting to take Baker to the hospital.
An ambulance transported Baker to the East Alabama Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:53 p.m.
Demario A. Pitts, 20, of Opelika surrendered to Auburn police at approximately 2 a.m. Monday morning — but has not been charged in the shooting — Auburn Police Chief Tommy Dawson said.
Dawson said that Pitts and Baker were cousins.
At Vdare.com, I've made my case about Auburn and Alabama in an article titled Alabama’s Iron Bowl And Integration—Was Football Victory Worth It? It's hard to even care about college football anymore, in light of the revelations that beloved Penn State coach Joe Paterno knew of a child sex abuse scandal and helped cover it up for years.

It should be a game played by actual student-athletes, who only participate in the sport for the physical activity and the thrill of representing their university in collegiate athletics. Instead, college football has become one of the ultimate vehicles for creating false impressions of Black America; heroes of illiterate Black thugs.

Like Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and Friday Night Lights author Buzz Bissinger and Malcolm Gladwell, the New Yorker columnist and writer of Blink and The Tipping Point, I too agree college football should be banned.

White America excuses away Black thuggery for one reason: because to admit the problem would potentially derail Auburn's (UGA, Florida, Florida State, Alabama, LSU, South Carolina, etc.) chances of winning a National Title. And because these white alumni of SEC (or ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac 10) universities place greater importance on what happens on a football field between 18 and 22-year-old males, the future of our nation will be cities turned into just another Detroit or Birmingham.

But hey: we can at least get Black recruits from these cities!

The first step toward rescuing America from a future that resembles one big Detroit (or Birmingham) is simply this: ban college football.

Update: A hilarious portrait of the accused killer has emerged:
Desmonte Demontez Leonard, the 22-year-old Montgomery man at the center of law enforcement manhunt for his role in a mass shooting at an Auburn apartment complex, has been arrested twice on gun charges, according to online court records.

Records also indicate he has been sued twice for child support, with the most recent lawsuit filed on Friday, just one day before Saturday night's shooting.
Leonard also was arrested Jan. 31, 2008 by the Montgomery Police Department's Crime Reduction Team after it responded to a report of a stolen vehicle, according to court records. Police spotted the 2001 GMC Yukon Denali and gave pursuit. Leonard, who was in the car, told police he had a gun in his pocket. Police confiscated a Smith&Wesson 9mm handgun that he did not have a license to carry, according to records.

Leonard also has been involved in two child support cases. The lawsuit filed Friday claims Leonard is the father of a girl born in 2011.

In January a court had ruled that Leonard was the father of another girl, now 4, by another woman. Leonard was ordered to pay $305 a month in child support, $21 of which was to go toward $7,336 in back child support he owed in the case.
It should be noted that Auburn University is one of only 22 universities in Divison 1, whose athletic department operated in the black financially in 2011. Auburn's athletic department has always been profitable - even when SEC schools fielded all-white teams and didn't rely on sharing television revenue, but instead relied upon actual gate receipts from games - but has found new riches since college football has emerged as cheap programming for ESPN and CBS.

Update II: Auburn, Alabama is a city that is 78 percent white, and one of the most affluent in all of the state of Alabama.  Auburn University has an enrollment that is 25,469, of which 81 percent is white in 2012. Only 3.3 percent is Black male; 41.3 percent is white male.

In 1976, the white male population was 57% of the student body (17,523 students); 1% of the student body (206) was Black male. The school's enrollment was 96% white.

That's what college football has done to the university.

All football, from the NFL down to pee-wee, should be forced to take a year off as penance for Sandusky, and while we do a collective catharsis of all the real and moral crimes our society tolerates in the name of football.

Of course I have an ulterior motivation, I would hope that in that season without football, white men would finally realize that they were addicted to a drug which made their minds do screwy things like worship black men.

Oh, countenance - what a pleasure to read your comment. All too true. While I am no fan of NASCAR, I happen to notice that my NASCAR watching neighbors have a tendency toward fixing their cars and helping neighbors with all things mechanical.

My football worshiping neighbors just drink beer and talk about how their team's black guys are better than your team's black guys.

Football and other spectator sports are no more than a frivolous game. It's frivolous because it makes no real difference who wins or loses absent putting money on the line. It isn't manly to be obsessed about something so frivolous. Anyone obsessed about sports after about the age of 13 or so suffers from a character defect.

As someone who currently attends UGA, I for one can not stand to see all these black football players. I honestly don't know too many people who actually care about putting them on a pedestal anymore (except for Murray, but he's a guido so he is still different from the student body, or when they're drunk downtown). And it SICKENS me when I see a thug player downtown with some white slut all over. I pulled one of them away one time and asked her "why are you hanging out with a (black person)" and she said "I know, I don't like them, but he's on the football team!". Egh I felt sorry for her parents...
Oh and pot is more pervasive than any of the public knows... I know of so many black players who go to fraternity houses and smoke (which is a blemish on fraternities as well). Its common knowledge that just about every black on the football team smokes but you don't hear about it until one gets arrested or fails a drug test.

I don't think banning is the answer. One thing I would like to see restored is freshman ineligibility. If freshmen were not eligible to play until there sophomore year, it is likely that you might see a pro league start, like triple A baseball. Then actual student athletes (in that order) would actually participate.

Hear? Arrested? Didn't the Sandusky affair take attention away from a team who had four players "injured" and so they missed a game. Four players injured? Happens all the time. What was their injury? Testing positive for marijuana.

Only a white girl could so entice & enrage feral negros to do such.

Or drugs, or money, or insulting (AKA dis-respik)...

Come to think of it, feral negros will shoot & kill over any damn thing at all.

So according to media reports, Desmante shot Ladarius, Ed, and Demario, after a fight in which Turquorius was also involved.

With 4 out of 5 of those involved having ebonics names, that gives us an 'Ebonics Quotient' of 80%.

I think this is a pretty standard percentage, although Demario's earlier shooting of his cousin Jamon would have a Ebonics Quotient of 100% -- twice that of the George/Trayvon shooting with only a 50% EQ.

Semi-related (or partially off topic):

Some people believe if we can just put blacks into the right situation, we can turn them into whites (as far as behavior is concerned). We've repeated different versions of this experiment for decades, with no real success. We've put blacks into colleges that they were not qualified for, bussed them into white elementary/high schools, forced them into jobs they weren't able to perform, neighborhoods they couldn't afford, loans they weren't likely to pay back, government contracts where they didn't have to compete, etc. All in an attempt to get them to behave as whites behave, and all - mostly - for naught.

The name for those who believe this can work, and who keep performing these experiments:

Racial Alchemists.

Professional sports are a perfect analogy for modern American conservatism.

Masses of fans (white citizens), support billionaire owners (capitalists, politicians), by ignoring the obvious personal flaws of players (minorities), because they wear 'their' team's colors (patriotism, christianity).

Although the team (country) is steeped in their tradition, it is no longer owned, played, or represented by those who make up its fan base (white citizens).

Far from being discouraged, I think colleges use weed as a recruiting tool. I remember several years ago, I heard a story about a black recruit in football who visited the University of Oregon. When he got home, he told his parents that the athletic admins promised him "all the booze, sex and weed" (direct quote, supposedly) he could handle. His irate parents called the school, and they denied the part about the weed.

Since blacks love the Mary Jane, and since the cultists of black athletic supremacy think that you need blacks to win football games, there will be flying elephants before there is any serious crackdown on weed use in college football and basketball.

and she said "I know, I don't like them, but he's on the football team!"

This is another unspoken reason why blacks wanted to play college football -- They knew the football stars get the girls, especially the white girls.

Has anyone that has been to university ever share classes with the school's star athletes? My first class after I separated from the Army was an Athletic Training class with several star athletes, including our athletic (but interception-prone) QB that broke a bowl record recently. These kids were dumb as bricks, I mean seriously dumb. That same QB actually got banned from the school gym for misbehavior. This class was a joke and was very disappointing, I learned almost nothing. All of the tests were take home tests. All you had to do was show up and turn in the tests and you received an A. So, I can definitely believe that even if there wasn't a coordinated effort to ensure that the athletes remained eligible, that at the least the academic advisors are advising for classes that are easy. I studied biology. Rarely, if ever, did you see any student-athlete in building. I assume (assumptions are dangerous, I know) that these athletes were in powder-puff majors.

p.s. - To be "fair", the professor would report the athletes to the football program if they missed to much class. But of course, I never saw these students pulled from games.

Trial junkie here. One thing you can say about the Auburn shooting is that it is a fairly typical black on black crime. A black male pulls a gun and shoots another black male (s) over nothing, or almost nothing. Wasn't there a killing over an argument about Kool-Aid recently?

It would be interesting to find out how much gambling money flies around from college sports, except the person asking would probably be found in the trunk of a Cadillac in long term parking out at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport.

Money is probably the only reason these criminals are tolerated. Alumni donations, "laundry money," "tuition rebates," etc.

In closing, I'd like to remind your readers that it's impossible to spell "felon" without N-F-L, and share a joke:

A. The arresting officer.

I think PK's thesis on the perversion of the cultural worship of collegiate football in the context of the non-collegiate character of the players is correct, but what is missing is the solution to the problem?
Perhaps a diminution of football? It is not that inconceivable. American football doesn't translate well at all; to everyone outside of North America it looks odd, like a combination of sumo and basketball. Kids don't like to play it because it really isn't play. It is war-play. As such it has a theatre value simple, pure sports such as soccer don't have.
Considering the social complexity of football (as war-play) it is not surprising that ghosts of past glories and spectres of future doom can play alongside the actually unfolding events on the field. College football is well adapted to explain suymbolically our cultural predicament but its strength is also its weakness. It is culturebound, which is a word which looks like musclebound and means much the same thing. Sooner or later most people grow out of worship of overdeveloped physiques, probably because they are exposed to the superiority of a more natural bodily form. People will similarly grow out of the fascination with football with exposure to more naturally flowing athletics.

Banning college football is not the answer. There have been movements to ban boxing for probably a hundred years or more with virtually no success. What has worked is the free market, which has to a large extent marginalized boxing in the public's eye, due in large part to the absence of a white champion. Who was the last, Marciano in the 50's? White people just lost interest in a sport that, for whatever reason, they couldn't compete in. My father loved boxing, and for a while I did too. But after a while it was like, why do I care which black beats the crap out of the other one? Apparently a lot of white people feel the same way, evidenced by boxing's gradually dwindling popularity since the middle of the last century.

Hopefully college football (and basketball) will eventually meet the same fate, but it's going to take a while. "Our guys can beat your guys" seems to have a magical hold on white men, and the fact that "our guys" are mostly black thugs just goes into the black hole of denial. I would like to be hopeful- but I'm not really- that tragedies like this will push college football and basketball down the same path as boxing in white America's eyes.

I have always wondered why someone who legitimately earned a degree at a university would cheer for a team full of black thugs who do not represent them or the university in reality????

…it rivals the Afrikaners obsession with rugby which ultimately doomed their nation: remember, South Africa was barred from International Rugby as long as Apartheid existed…

A really excellent comparison! Whites allowing so much of their personal capital and prestige to ride upon wins racked up by borderline retarded Black thugs is a recipe for disaster. No sane person should ever permit their sense of self esteem to rely upon the performance of humanity's dregs. That the exact opposite remains the case is stuff for the psychiatrist's couch. Especially so with respect to how institutions of higher learning are the most egregious practitioners of this insanity.

But don't they realize if college football is banned, instantaneously you deprive the only positive images that most people will ever have of Black people (since they wear the beloved colors and jersey of their alma mater).

You say that like it's a bad thing.

The sooner Whites abandon their collective worship of Black athletes, the more quickly our nation will regain its sanity regarding Race Realism. Just think of all the assaults and rapes that would not take place if young Whites had a more realistic view (i.e., enhanced situational awareness) of Blacks.

Once again I will remind everyone that simply mandating schools to field sports teams which proportionally reflect the racial makeup of their student body would put paid to this entire scandal.

Auburn police chief Tommy Dawson would like you to believe that, "…the only connection the Auburn football team have to this is they are victims of a brutal shooting," Dawson said. "Sometimes the young men get a bad rap. But they're the victims."

Victims. VICTIMS? Then how does that explain why, now room temperature, party goer and former Auburn student Demario Pitts was so eager to split some skulls with a bottle in their dispute over a woman?

From the Daily Mail article provided by Anon (6/10 10:17 AM):

Turquorius Vines, 23, said he was at the party Saturday evening at the University Heights apartments with one of his friends. He said he and Pitts were approached by two other men who started arguing with them over a woman. Vines said he punched one of the men, while Pitts hit both of the men over the head with a bottle. [emphasis added]

All of which sounds suspiciously like classic TNB to me.

No one has asked this question, "but why were Auburn football players hanging out with DeMario Pitts, a Black thug who killed his own cousin in an accidental shooting on March 19?"

My question as well.

The first step toward rescuing America from a future that resembles one big Detroit (or Birmingham) is simply this: ban college football.

I wouldn't ban it, but I would make changes so that only a true student athlete could participate. That means he/she would have to meet the minimum standards that everyone else has to meet. This, of course, would require an end to all racial preferences in admissions. There would not be a whole lot of blacks or "Hispanics" on any college campus if the minimum SAT was 1000 to 1200. Ergo, there would be the college football teams such as my father saw when he was in college in the late 40's.

Since I have never seen an all black or even majority black high school team win a championship, my guess is that the real talent goes to waste as it is now. There are plenty of negroes here, but the teams that win are, at the minimum, majority white teams. See the movie "Friday Night Lights". I believe it's a true story and shows the reality of how a black HS team is capable of winning.

But alas, unless the USSC rules in "our" favor with the new case it has taken up vis-a-vis the Texas girl, we have not much hope for that in the here and now. So, I guess the thing to do is agitate to get rid of all college sports--the Left hates them any way (they really do) and we might be able to co-opt them without them realizing it.

Anon--June 10, 2012 7:36 PM--

I loved playing football. I loved running the ball. It is a war game, and as such quintessentially American. It also takes a decent brain to play it well as a good play book is extensive, even in HS, and must be memorized and those plays must be executed perfectly. Due to negritude, much of that has been lost--especially in college and pro. But not so with white or nearly all white HS teams.

Oh man, there is nothing like hearing the snap count, going into motion, feeling the ball slap you hard as you take the hand-off and start through the line--a hole perfectly opened and you shoot through it and into the secondary. I averaged 5 yards every time I carried the ball. Good enough to make it into the play offs. One of my best friends was a great 1/4 back. He never threw to me--or not very often because I was not tall enough to go high if I had to. But I could run and break tackles.

So could my son. Loved watching him run the ball. I felt sad when he ended it in 10th grade in favor of wrestling. He didn't want to risk an injury that might cause him to lose a season of wrestling.

Hey Mutant,

When I was a kid I loved the game, but even then I wondered why adults would spend a beautiful Fall day watching sports on TV. I had an uncle who always watched games. When I was in 6th grade or so I asked him why he liked it so--he didn't know anyone on the teams like a father would watch his son. He replied that he had to because he had money on the game. And the he proceeded to explain to me how gambling on college sports worked and how big it was/is.

Agreed ban college football (and basketball) and let the pros carry their own minor leagues.

As an alternative, let colleges field racing teams, using solar powered (hey its green!) vehicles only in various weight/size classes.

For those looking to pick up sports, Formula One, FIM Superbike, AMA Superbike, and Rolex sponsored Grand Am racing have lots of fun (and umbrella girls who have to be seen to be believed). Exciting, exotic locations, not what everyone else watches, its fun.

Tom, I would say you are incorrect about Boxing. I do think viewership fluctuates depending on the Champions but it is who is commercial not the color. Ali was hated by much of White America as least as much as he was loved but his mouth put butts in seats and eyes on the TV. People wanted to see him lose. Whites and blacks loved watching Tyson because he would not just KO his opponent but would destroy him

Now there are two White Heavy Weight Champions that get very little air play why? I believe it is the graft in boxing not the boxers so much.

The Klitchkos live in Germany so are hard to manipulate or threaten into losing.

Look at the Pac Bradley fight. This is another instance of a fix. Pac has had marital troubles and other distractions had Bradley just run and jabbed he had a good legit chance of out pointing Pacman. The problem was they underestimated Pac and Bradley hurt his ankles. Pac should have won but the fix was in and they forced it. Now people caught on and are upset.

This is all because two multimillion dollar fights are better than one and three is better than two. If pac wins the next one he should it sets up a trilogy which is big, big money.

Combat sports are easy to fix but the fix is sometimes easy to spot. This affects viewership for a while and sometimes kills the sport.

Did you know real professional Wrestling was bigger than Boxing at one time? Matches started to be worked(per-determined)so Wrestling was killed and morphed into WWE.

Yeah gambling is a big part of the games. That ought to be cracked down upon.

But USA Today has done an excellent job of breaking down the money in college athletics. The top ten biggest spenders range from Texas at $134 million per year to Oklahoma at $94 million a year.

This spending is heavily subsidized by tuition and student fees, which have increased 31% over the past 7 years according to USA Today. [Their sports coverage is excellent, definitely worth reading to find the rotten-ness in today's culture due to athletic worship.] More than 90% of the 227 Division 1 public schools depend on student fees and tuition to cover costs of the athletic department. That subsidy totaled in 2011 $2.1 billion, nearly a third of total expenditures.

WHAT is needed is the requirement that ONLY say, 2% of athletic department expenses come out of fees and tuition, and that 98% of fees and tuition for all universities, public or private be spent on academic instruction. If not, then no institution will be eligible for federal guaranteed student loans. Finito student body!

Cut off the money, the organization dies. Simple as that.

Auburn btw is $100.5 million in 2011. It had only a 4% subsidy (Bowl appearance fees I guess) but you could also cap expenditures on athletics as well for football and baseball, and use "gender equity" as a lever to pry out the money from being spent on those things, and force them to be spent on say, women's fencing.

Quit supporting the gladitorial games and they'll just die. Simple really.

I've never understood the concept of "athletic scholarships" to start with. Academic yes, athletic no!

American universities have become a joke. The worship and idolization of the Magic Negro is sickening. Putting these people on a pedastal just demonstrates how banal and juvenile we've become. Sometimes I await to wake from this nightmare, only to discover over and over again, that their "dream" has become my nightmare.

If we really want to end the sham that is negro dominated college sports we must use the PC speak and momentum of the anti racists. Go to a college football game tailgate with signs that say "End football racism now!" Take a video camera and ask people why they think it is alright to make modern days slaves out of the negroes on the football team. Hold protests on campus and rally the anti-racists that couldn't care about football anyways. Get the football players riled up. Tell them they are being treated like slaves - housed and fed for the amusement of the white people then discarded once injured or their eligibility is up. Get the lefty professors involved. Confront the president of the university. Shame the donors to the football program - launch campaigns saying they support modern day slavery.

Trial junkie here. One thing you can say about the Auburn shooting is that it is a fairly typical black on black crime. A black male pulls a gun and shoots another black male (s) over nothing, or almost nothing. Wasn't there a killing over an argument about Kool-Aid recently?

June 10, 2012 7:18 PM

Just off the top of my head, the list so far as I have seen includes, females (of varying species I kid thee not), rims, a cheeseburger, fried chicken, hair weaves, cellphones, as little as two dollars, facebook posts, myspace posts, Nikes, grass (both the smoking kind and lawn), metal roof sheeting and firewood among others (I could go on all day listing trivial crap they kill over).

In some, no, they are nothing like us.

My wife is half- Filipino. You can imagine what it sounded like when Buffer called out that decision. My thought was that either those two judges were black, or they were trying to keep the magic negro's undefeated record since Pacquiao will retire soon, but only after a highly profitable rematch. I expect this sort of corruption, because this is the sport that Don King built, after all.

I remember talking to a guy at work one time. He starts talking about football, and I stop him and say "dude. I said "you spend your entire weekend glued to the television watching guys in bright, colorful stretch pants slap each other on the ass, and I'M the gay one?". He says "that's stupid...", and I reply "What's stupid is that you can remember every statistic about every player from 1970 to present, but I need to reset your network password every Monday.".

Those percentages really are staggering, Paul. White males dropped from 57% of the student body to a mere 41% - this is at least as devastating as having black football players. College is just another venue that our nation has feminized to the point that White men are opting out. Just as White kids opt out of higher-level academic classes when the majority of students are Jewish or Asian. Just as salaries for various professions, such as teaching, drop once the practitioners become predominately female. Just as White kids don't play professional sports. It's all of a piece: the desperate need to find somewhere that blacks can achieve, blacks' earlier physical maturation and lack of intellectual capacity, Whites declining to participate in overly-black environments, and the media's relentlessly pushing the meme of miscegenation.

As I leafed through yesterday's Sunday ad sections before tossing them, I noted that Macy's, Penney's, Target, and Kohl's all featured blacks on their Father's Day ad covers. Penney's has really gone whole hog since the gay ad and resultant backlash. I noted about 80% of their models were non-White. As my husband noted, they didn't take terrific pictures, anyhow; we'll be going elsewhere for our kids' annual photographs. It doesn't take a nationwide boycott, folks; just make it your priority to patronize those companies who show they want White customers. Porter has an excellent list of daily ways to be pro-White at Mangans.

More black mob attacks in Chicago:

The video linked below shows that the victim is white:

Cops: Man beaten by group in Gold Coast neighborhood

8:52 a.m. CDT, June 11, 2012
A man walking home from work was attacked and beaten by a large group of people on the Gold Coast late Sunday, police said.

The 36-year-old man suffered a laceration above his right eye and bruising to his head and body during the attack at 10 p.m. in the 800 block of North Dewitt Place, police said, citing early reports.

The group of attackers was comprised of between 15 and 20 males and females, police said. Preliminary police reports indicated that they may have been teenagers.

Police are listing the attack as a battery and there is no indication that the man was robbed, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Robert Perez. The attackers did not appear to say anything to the man to indicate why he was targeted, Perez said.

"It was without provocation, they just attacked," Perez said.
BECAUSE HE IS WHITE AND THE ATTACKERS ARE BLACKS, DUH!!!

The man was taken to nearby Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Police had no other details.

Several youths were charged Sunday following an attack Saturday night that left a man with a broken jaw.

Man, 7 teens charged in downtown muggings

An 18-year-old man was charged along with seven teenagers who were charged with mob action following a series of muggings carried out Saturday night by groups of attackers, including one that left a visitor from Michigan hospitalized with a broken jaw.

In the first attack, a group of young people beat and robbed the 40-year-old man in the 500 block of North State Street just before 10 p.m. The victim, who was in Chicago on business, according to a relative, was treated for a broken jaw at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Mitchell Coradarrowe, of the 5900 block of South Indiana Avenue, was charged as an adult with felony aggravated battery and mob action, according to police.

The juveniles, ranging in age from 13 to 16, have each been charged with three counts of mob action in connection with the attack.

A second attack, which police believe to be unrelated, occurred about 30 minutes later near the Lake/State Red Line station in the 100 block of North State Street. A couple was accosted by an unknown number of suspects near the Chicago Theatre. A male victim suffered minor injuries and was also treated at Northwestern.

Police received a report of a third attack near Navy Pier, but police couldn't provide the exact time of the attack.

The attacks occurred as city officials were preparing downtown for the upcoming festival season, including Lollapalooza, The Air and Water Show and the Taste of Chicago, which are expected to bring thousands to the city and generate millions of dollars in revenue.

So the negro plague runs the grocery stores out of town through massive shoplifting and their inability to buy anything but kool aid, skrimps and potato chips. Now we're going to take almost a half billion dollars to put vegetables (the article's author didn't note the irony of eggplant as a suggestion) that nobody is going to buy on the shelves of corner stores. I'm sure that these corner stores won't take advantage of the program in any way, and that a fridge full of broccoli is going to solve the obesity epidemic in Philadelphia. It couldn't be that sitting around on welfare cranking out little meal tickets is making them fat. The free market has already shown that liquor, chicken and rims are all that sells in these neighborhoods (and only from behind 5-inch, bullet-proof plexiglass mind you). What's next? Are we going to open taxpayer-funded libraries full of books they won't read? Oh.. wait. We already do that. Are we going to use taxpayer funds to build parks and basketball courts that they'll end up turning into Beiruit? Yeah. We tried that. Maybe we need to open free kitchens where taxpayer-funded nutritious meals are provided to the children for free. Oh. We do that. They're called schools.

The real issue here is the loss of these African-American scholars and the potential scholarship that is now lost. These students could have discovered so much we don't yet know about the African-American experience. We've lost their contribution to research in African-American studies of all kinds.

That's the tragedy, not the question of football.

I was a middling successful college tennis player and still play and follow the sport.

It's interesting to watch the extreme lengths that mucketys in and around the sport will go to promote even the most marginally successful black up and comer, e.g., Donald Young as the Dark Messiah of American male tennis on an intermittent basis.

Even more interesting is the hysteria around the Williams Sisters, as they are protected while practicing TNB on-court and indulged in astoundingly obvious bouts of steroid fueled cycles of eye-popping muscle development and "injury" induced periods of inactivity.

The achievements of true champions like Sharapova and Federer are made even greater in contrast to these throwback beasts.

It is numbingly predictable isn't it. A smiling African-American newscaster describes some gruesomely horrible triple murder/gang-rape/arson with that serious concerned look on their face.

I like to imagine an individual of Japanese extraction in 1943 reporting that the Imperial Japanese Army has just worked 25,000 U.S. soldiers to death on the Burma railroad. And doing so with great concern and a furrowed brow.

Well, ok, it's really overstated. But you get my point.

Since I live in the Montgomery area I thought I would let everyone else in on the current status of the manhunt. Last night the Montgomery police were certain that the shooter was holed up in the attic of an East Montgomery(the good side of town) home, but as of this morning it is apparent either he left before the police arrived or they were given bad information. Earlier today a city spokesperson went out of his way to make the point that giving false information is a crime(or at least it seemed that way to me). Either way the shooter is still at large as well as the man who drove him to Montgomery and I am beginning to doubt the capability of our local law enforcement.

Leonard turned himself in last night around eight. Thankfully no one else was killed or injured because of him. Also it seems to me that while two former Auburn football players were killed and one current player was injured it seemed that the University was taking care to emphasize that the shooting had very little to do with the football team.
