Do you remember the mini-series Amerika? SBPDL was only a few years old when it was aired, but saw it recently. What was it about, for those late to the game?:
In the late 1980s, as the Soviet Union's economic and political decline puts it in danger of losing the Cold War, the Soviet leadership makes a desperate gamble to rearrange the global balance of power. Four huge thermonuclear weapons are exploded in the stratosphere over the United States. No material destruction appears to happen, however the electromagnetic pulse (or EMP) of these weapons destroys the nation's military and commercial communications and computer systems, electrical grid, and, indeed, any piece of equipment that relies on computer technology, such as most late-model automobiles. With America's ICBMs inoperative, and the National Command Authority unable to contact U.S. military forces abroad to counterattack, America is forced to accept Soviet terms for surrender: unilateral disarmament, the destruction of the dollar, and integration into the Soviet-led military/economic bloc. The United States quickly falls under Soviet military occupation – and the President of the United States and United States Congress become figureheads for their Soviet overseers.
The subsequent takeover of the U.S. is tamely dubbed "The Transition". The miniseries details the final phase of the transition – the breakup of the United States ten years after its defeat.
The above events are implied in the miniseries, although never directly explained. The description is taken from the novelization of the miniseries, Amerika: The Triumph of the American Spirit by Brauna E. Pouns and Donald Wrye (Pocket Books, 1987), based on Wrye's screenplay; Wrye is reputed to have written a 175-page treatment describing how the Soviets took over. An introduction to the miniseries explaining the downfall of America ended up on the cutting room floor prior to broadcast, and only a fleeting line by actor Sam Neill alludes to an America without communications, presumably due to the effects of the electromagnetic pulse. The loss of technology and communications, however, is effectively presented in the opening scenes: no radios are heard playing, television is shown only in the Soviet leaders' offices, one scene in a church is lit completely by candlelight, and a woman is seen using an old sewing machine operated by foot pedal.
What was it Orwell said in Animal Farm?

I really hope this post is meant to be ironic.
These goofy 28 year old swpl socialists grate the hell out of me. No you frumpy plainjain, your situation is nothing like the people in Egypt, who last I heard weren't marching against the middle class taxpayer like you douchebags. No, you jackass with the chin-beard and bowlcut, the Governor of your state is doing what the PEOPLE elected him to do, you unwashed asswipe.
God how I wish I could show these useful idiots the inside of a gulag.
BUBO
I Imagine myself to be the guy with the grey beard leading everyone to freedom.
Ever notice how people on the Left are usually unattractive? I think this speaks volumes to them embracing a philosophy which is based on a permanent state of victimhood...kind of like another segment of the population we talk about on this blog all the time...hmmmm.
I remember that mini-series I was a senior in high school when it came out (yep I'm getting old). It was a lefty response to Red Dawn. The few resistance fighters made to look like idiots. The ease at which the Soviets took control and the sheep like attitude of America embracing its new communist overlords was comical.
These granola munching hippies and union thugs need to be brought down swiftly, they are the EMP bombs waiting to go off around the US. As far as teaching communism in schools they won that battle already
@SBPDL
Your comment about the leftist sympathies of most teachers is spot on and I believe the phenomenon to be international.
Public workers' unions clearly are a malignant tumor that - absent surgery - would kill the USA. In 200 years perhaps.
There are more imminent dangers that threaten your great country (which I know well). Such as the lootocrats donning business suits in order to maskerade as capitalists. Just look at last week's performance of the dollar against other currencies in general and against gold and silver in particular. You will know that I speak the truth.
To paraphrase the great George Carlin: The upper class is there to take the middle classe's stuff. And the teeming lower class is there to scare the middle class out of its wits.
Pretty much every country in the Western hemisphere is in dire need of a pitchfork-type revolution. I agree that in the end of such a revolution some union thugs should dangle from lampposts. I would however argue that there is a whole class of people whose stringing up should take priority above everything else.

John Milius is a fine director. "Red Dawn" is a fantastic film and his two Teddy Roosevelt films "Wind and the Lion" and "The Rough Riders" are always worth a watch.
When these union fucktards are rightfully fired for not doing their jobs, maybe the teacher's union can buy their groceries and pay their rent for them. Maybe they can go ask the socialist workers party for help.

Ha! For Europe to be liberated the American Empire has to be destroyed:

"Naturally it is not only into Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and other far-off lands that the United States stretches its sinister arm. Here is an example from Europe:"
“Our aim is to engage the French population at all levels in order to amplify France’s efforts to realize its own egalitarian ideals, thereby advancing U.S. national interests.” [1]
“[W]e will continue and intensify our work with French museums and educators to reform the history curriculum taught in French schools, so that it takes into account the role and perspectives of minorities in French history.” [2]
“[W]e will build on the expansive Public Diplomacy programs already in place at post, and develop creative, additional means to influence the youth of France, employing new media, corporate partnerships, nationwide competitions, targeted outreach events, especially invited U.S. Guests.”

"To be immersed in the Department for any length of time is to know with absolute certainty that the battle of ideas, for the highest seat of power, for the basic outlook of the United States of America is over and it has been won by globalist, multi-culturalist, liberal capitalism. That is to say, the USG is currently fanatically devoted to a world-view that can best be described in shorthand as a mix between the Wall St Journal pro-global business and open borders stance and the ideology one would find in the Office for Multi-Cultural Affairs at a major liberal arts university."
"Mencius Moldbug (whose father was in the Foreign Service, and as he once pointed out to Larry Auster, when a person IN the Foreign Service and a person who grew up in the Foreign Service are telling you, who are NOT in USG that USG is fully and completely committed to the modern liberal revolution and is not capable of being reformed, one should LISTEN) is completely correct in noting that this view has hardened into an ideology and has intertwined itself so thoroughly in the popular mind with what it means to be “American” that nothing short of an intense crisis or a complete breakdown will bring about any change. Certainly, electing this or that Republican makes no difference to the Permanent Government."

Hey Guys, this really smart black guy just informed me that our distaste of blacks is only caused by a biased media, which he says portrays blacks using negative racist stereotypes! It is not like they say! I am really beginning to question the intent of this blog owner.
This black guy tells me that despite what my white friends and family tell me, most blacks out there are really working hard, paying taxes, volunteering, parenting, recycling, paying their fair share of taxes, inventing cool things, splicing genes, getting straight A's and helping old ladies cross the road. We just focus so much on the bad blacks portrayed on TV that we are missing all of the good things that black people do (plus we do not encounter many blacks in public because they are all at work during daylight hours.)
He says that we have all been brainwashed by the racist TV shows and rap videos full of black thugs, which of course, are all owned by racist white people who have an agenda to ruin the black race.
Turns out, we are all wrong because he says that most blacks are good people and good christians and totally love American and what she stands for. When we see atrocious black behavior in public, it is really not atrocious behavior at all, we just view blacks while using our racist preconceived notions about black people. (which we learned from the racist TV.) Whew, what a relief! I can't believe I let all that brainwashing get to me.
Guess we can all pack up and leave now. Party's over.
To the anonymous poster at Feb 19 2011:08:19. Perhaps you should wright your own information rather than cut and paste obscure bull shit.
As always America seems to be the spine of Europe.
Hey Steve, the sarcasm of my post was intentional. Read it again.

That should be "write", not "wright". What a surprise, an illiterate Christian Zionist "superpatriot".
