Hilarious Article on Homicides in Richmond, Va. Lets Slip Historical Racial Reality: In 1940, Blacks Committed 11 times as Many Homicides as Whites in City

Previously on SBPDL: In 50% Black/40% White Richmond, Virginia, 95% of known 2016 homicide suspects were Black

Contrary to popular belief, the statues on Monument Avenue in Richmond, Virginia aren't behind the crime, murder and misery found in the 50 percent black/40 percent white capital city of the state.
The end of Jim Crow meant white people abandoned the city of Richmond and the civilization they should have inherited from their ancestors

It's just black people, hence the need for the hilarious 'Respect Richmond' marketing campaign to try and convince black people not to escalate arbitrary arguments into violence.  [Anti-gun-violence campaign 'Respect Richmond' will target specific neighborhoods on social media, online gaming, Richmond Times-Dispatch, 9-27-17]:
A new marketing campaign aimed at reducing gun violence in Richmond will feature advertisements on social media, where city and state officials say many violent altercations start with taunts and jeers.
Digital components on online platforms like social media and gaming systems like PlayStation and Xbox will target specific neighborhoods, where violence has occurred and where retaliation is most likely, while traditional advertisements like billboards, television and radio spots, and convenience store displays will reach out to the greater community.
But it's another article delineating contemporary black violence in the city of Richmond - going back back decades - only helping to illustrate why the Virginia city (and so many other southern cities) had Jim Crow policies designed to protect white people and their posterity from the misery we currently read about festering on the rotted corpses of Detroit and Baltimore.
We call what you are about to view "required reading"... [Richmond’s long and vexing history as a murder city, CBS 6 Richmond, 9-14-17]:
The startling run of murders in Richmond during the past two weekends has the mayor and police chief making "a plea for peace."
"We're tired of being beaten up," Chief Alfred Durham said. "We need your help."There's no question Richmond is seeing a vicious spike in homicides during the past year and a half.
But these spikes - along with a steady drain of human life - have long been a part of living in a killing city, historic homicide reports and records show.
In 1936, Richmond had 29 slayings in a city of 188,000.
By 1942, there were 43. (Some old news accounts reported 44 that year.) The headlines were similar to the ones we're reading today:
"Big increase in murders in Richmond"
After a big dip from 1943 through 1945, it was back to 43 slayings in 1946.Headline back then in the Richmond Times- Dispatch: "Manslaughter and murder soar in city. Increase in firearms blamed by police."
There's no question firearms were a big problem In the early 1900s, including revolvers, rifles and sawed-off shotguns.
But homicide reports in the '30s, '40s and '50s were also thick with ice picks and knives and fatal beatings attributed to a variety of instruments, including fists.
Back in the '30s and '40s, there were lots of domestic murders - women killing their wayward husbands and vice-versa, a good number of them getting away with it.
"I loved him and he drove me to it," Patricia Boyer said after she blasted her cabdriver boyfriend with a .22 rifle.
In 1936, a Mrs. Smoot allegedly said "I'll kill him before I'll let anybody else have him," before killing her long-cheating husband.
But many of the homicides were a result of arguments, fights and robberies. They occurred in homes, alleys, outside of pubs and pool halls.
White homicides often got more in-depth treatment in the news than the usual few paragraphs for black victims.
But the black-on-black violent crime problem was stark and bluntly reported on 75 years ago:
"Why were there 11 times as many homicides committed by Negroes in Richmond last year than by white persons?" asked the first line of a newspaper report in February of 1941.
There was lots of blame going around, including light jail sentences, environment, segregation and the legacy of enslavement.
By the early '50s, the public discussion of the subject - and the sensitivities surrounding it - had it sounding very much like the discussions of today.
Even the locator map of murders back then looked remarkably similar to the ones of today - the same festering pockets of concentrated poverty that continue today.
This past weekend we saw four killed in the Gilpin Court housing project, built in old Jackson Ward in 1943.
Old murder files show some surprises, like the 1946 murder trial of white Richmond officer Edward Dooley for fatally shooting suspected gambler Walter Willis "as the Negro fled after striking the officer with a blackjack," according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch report at the time. The reported twists and turns and passions surrounding the case made it read like it happened today.
Homicide numbers remained high but fairly steady - 20 to 40-plus - until the late 1960s. Richmond had 52 murders in 1968 and 89 in 1972, when the city's population was 243,000 after the big annexation of South Side.
The city was all-but killed by the skyrocketing murder rates during the crack cocaine years in the late 1980s through the mid-90s. It peaked in 1994 with 161 slayings, making Richmond the second deadliest city - per capita - in the nation.
The decline since then has been steady and amazing, dropping down to 32 in 2008, and then spiking up more recently to 61 last year, with perhaps even a larger number this year.
This spike has city leaders asking the same questions that generations of mayors, council members and police brass have in this deadly southern city.
What's causing it and how to stop it?
Put in historical perspective, Richmond is having another spike in homicides similar to the smaller ones in the early 1940s and the 1970s, but nothing like the 1990s.
And the roots of the tragedies - and where they are concentrated - remain stubbornly similar based on news reports then, and now.
Sixty and seventy years ago, city leaders were talking about hiring blacks in the police department and about "economic conditions" and "educational opportunities" to slow the steady tide of death.
Key line in the piece? This one: Even the locator map of murders back then looked remarkably similar to the ones of today - the same festering pockets of concentrated poverty that continue today.

Go ahead... read it again.

Black violence was disproportionately a problem for Richmond in the 1940s, 1950s and so forth, and it continues to be a problem; indeed, the black community is the source of almost every homicide and nonfatal shooting in the city.

Richmond was 70 percent white in 1950. Today, the city is roughly 40 percent white, but just as then, almost all violent crime is committed by blacks.

It is a safe bet to make that if the city of Richmond, Virginia had no black population, you could count the number of homicides on one hand in a given year.

As it is, one hand isn't sufficient for a week.

Black Mayoral Candidate in 83% Black Detroit Demands: “Let’s take back the motherland" (City Currently has a White Mayor)

Escape from Detroit and Detroit: The Unauthorized Autopsy of America's Bankrupt Black Metropolis are the only books in print daring to tell the true story of Detroit's collapse into an international punchline.

It wasn't Democrats that ruined Detroit.

It wasn't unions that ruined Detroit.

It wasn't free trade that ruined Detroit.
Hilarious...

It was simply replacing the founding European (white) population with Africans-in-America, courtesy of the so-called Great Migration of Blacks from the south to Detroit. Remember, Detroit was  98 percent white in 1917 - when it was known as the Paris of the West - and is now 83 percent black today (when it is synonymous with ruin porn and blight, the consequences of blacks being stewards of a civilization white people built and then abandoned to black control).

Well, there's a revealing mayoral race in Detroit happening as you read this, with the son of Coleman Young (the first black mayor of Detroit) running against the incumbent white mayor. And just take a look at what Mr. Young said in a televised debate, a comment confirming we are living in a post-racial America! [Coleman Young II Comes Out Swinging Against Mayor Mike Duggan, Says ‘Time To Take Back The Motherland’, CBS Detroit, 10-26-17]:

Less than two weeks away from Election Day, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan and state senator Coleman Young II faced off for their one and only debate. It was eventful.
“I’m running to be your next mayor because everywhere my opponent has been there’s been a criminal investigation — whether he was at DMC, whether he was at DPS, whether he was at Wayne County and now with the city,” Young said in his opening remarks.
And he said this: “Let’s take back the motherland.”
Many considered that a not-even-thinly veiled reference to race. Duggan is the first white Detroit mayor since 1970; Young is black, the biological son of famed Detroit mayor Coleman Young, who served 1973-1994. Young had to be sued in 1989 to acknowledge the paternity of Young II, who was born Joel Loving and later changed his name to reflect his paternity.
Young also repeated allegations of bid rigging against Duggan, which the mayor has denied.
“You know, you don’t have the slightest bit of shame,” Duggan told Young. “I never met with any contractors, I never did any such thing and there was never any criminal investigation at DMC and you should stop impugning the people there.”
Young also laid into Duggan about crime prevention, which he called “incompetence on parade.”
“Violent crimes have gone up 15.7 percent, whatever he’s talking about doing is not working,” Young said.
Violent crime in Detroit only exists because the city is 83 percent black. Detroit's much-touted financial burden is courtesy of the racial transformation of the city (remember: Detroit was close to 85 percent white until 1950).

Black studies professor Dr. R. L’Heureux Lewis [Twitter], who published Abandon Detroit, Abandon Black America back on June 2, 2010 at the now defunct black paper, the Atlanta Post. It lives on at the black website Madame Noire (and here’s the Archive.org link).
Right in his first paragraph, any confusion about the origins of Detroit’s collapse is blowtorched away:
Detroit is a microcosm of Black America. I believe if you cannot love Detroit, you cannot fully love Black people. The Detroit Metropolitan area represents the best and the worst that Black folks in this country have to offer. The Black middle class was solidified in and around Detroit with steady unionized blue collar labor in the auto industry.
The middle class expanded as more Black folks with college educations occupied managerial positions. Detroiters experienced and vigilantly fought the racisms of housing redlining, riots, as well as White and Black flight. Detroit has benefited and suffered at the hands of White and Black leadership. If there is a city that tells us about the promise and perils of Blackness, it’s Detroit. I’m so interested in what happens in Detroit because if we can turn it around, we can turn around the rest of our cities.
“The promise and perils of Blackness.”
When Coleman Young II says, “Let’s take back the motherland," he does so to promote the dubious virtues of the "promise and perils of Blackness," as well as explicitly make a call of racial solidarity to blacks to vote out the evil whites - once again - just as they did when his dad became the first black mayor of Detroit in 1973.

Just a hint: there will never be a post-racial America, just an ever-increasing anti-white America (where racial solidarity is expected among all nonwhite people, and the establishment vigorously polices against all attempts for white identity to gain steam).

From 2000 - 2012, Blacks in Ohio Committed 63% of the homicides... they represent only 12 percent of the states population

The state of Ohio is roughly 80 percent white and 12 percent black. The Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services put out an incredible document - as part of their push for "A Safer Ohio" - entitled Homicides in Ohio 2000 - 2012.

Basically, the state has the racial makeup of roughly 1950 - 1970s America, prior to the 1965 Immigration Act flooded the nation with nonwhites.

But what's so stunning about this data is the color of crime in the state of Ohio it exposes, with cities such as Columbus, Toledo, Akron, Cleveland, and Cincinnati basically being war zones where black crime is driving away white civilization.
Homicides in Ohio 2000 - 2012: Blacks are 12 percent of the state of Ohio population but commit nearly 60 percent of the homicides

Let's get the data on the race of the victims:
Victim Race
Of the homicide victims whose race was reported, there were a total of 3,752 (60%) black victims and 2,454 (39%) white victims. There were 22 Asian or Pacific Islander and five American Indian or Alaskan Native homicide victims identified.
Black males made up 66 percent of male homicide victims and 49 percent of all homicide victims. White males made up 34 percent of male homicide victims and 25 percent of all homicide victims. In contrast, black females made up 42 percent of female homicide victims and 10 percent of all homicide victims, whereas white females made up 57 percent of female homicide victims and 13 percent of all homicide victims. Since 2000, black males have consistently remained the largest group of all victims of homicide.
As you read this, remember only 12 percent of the state is black.

Let's get the data on the race of the offenders:
Read this carefully: from 2000 - 2012 in Ohio, seven percent of black homicide victims had a white offender, while 25 percent of white homicide victims had a black offender...

Offender Race
Of the homicide offenders whose race were reported, there were a total of 3,406 (63%) black offenders and 1,915 (35%) white offenders. There were 14 Asian or Pacific Islander and six American Indian or Alaskan Native homicide offenders identified.
Black males made up 66 percent of male homicide offenders and 57 percent of all homicide offenders. White males made up 34 percent of all male homicide offenders and 30 percent of all homicide offenders. In contrast, black females made up 51 percent of female homicide offenders and 6 percent of all homicide offenders, whereas white females made up 49 percent of female homicide offenders and 6 percent of all homicide offenders.
Similar to black male homicide victims, the number of black male offenders also varied but their numbers peaked in 2010 at 68 percent. Since 2001, more than half of homicide offenders have been identified as a black male.
So from 2000 - 2012 in the 80 percent white state of Ohio, blacks represented 63 percent of the homicide offenders. Remember: blacks represent 12 percent of the population of the entire state.

But here's where the data for homicide in the state of Ohio showcases the reality of interracial crime the mainstream media assiduously covers up on a daily basis:
Victim-Offender Race
There is a great tendency for homicide victims and offenders to be of the same race. Ninety-three percent of black victims were killed by black offenders. Likewise, 75 percent of white victims were killed by white offenders.
So seven percent of black homicide victims had a white offender, while 25 percent of white homicide victims had a black offender...

Just imagine if for one day we had an honest press to give us the truth of not only crime and violent crime in America, but the reality of who commits it and the truth of interracial violent crime...

Stop daydreaming, it's never going to happen.

The almost All-Black City Council in 70% Black Baltimore plans to revive 'Dollar House' program to bring people back to city...

If you've read The City that Bleeds: Race, History, and the Death of Baltimoreyou know black people in Baltimore carefully protect their city by using black criminality to keep out white people from ever being a demographic threat to run things again.

Isn’t it strange that in a near-homogeneous Black community like Baltimore, there seems to be so little social trust and social capital? Doesn’t this fly in the face of Harvard political scientist Robert Putnam’sfamous study that found diversity was the primary cause for a loss of civic engagement.
The ruins of white Baltimore (an 88% white city in 1917, now a 70% black city in 2017 with 46,000 vacant buildings....
Remember the story? Putnam was so embarrassed by his study and investigation that showed the harmful effects of diversity that he suppressed the findings for a number of years.
But in Baltimore, the inverse of Putnam’s findings appear to be true. The blacker a community, the fewer people vote, the less they volunteer, the less civility and social trust and the less they work to better the community.
There's so little social capital in 70 percent black Baltimore, one wonders if it might be the epitome of a low-trust society as the embarrassment of multiple bike share programs ending because of black criminality merely confirms the racists were right all along.
We’ve called this paradox to Putnam's study the Detroit Corollary before. The civilization black people have create in 70 percent black Baltimore and the failure of two bike share programs is just further proof of the Detroit Corollary's existence.
And it's confirmation blacks ruin everything.

The following story is confirmation not just of this mathematical proof, but of the validity of the Visible Black Hand of Economics[Baltimore City Council plans hearing on bringing back 'Dollar House' program, Baltimore Sun, 10-23-17]:
The Baltimore City Council is holding a hearing this week in an effort to revive the city’s “Dollar House” program as a way to revitalize some of Baltimore’s struggling neighborhoods.
In the 1980s, Baltimore officials sold houses for $1 and helped finance rehabilitation of the properties through low-interest loans if homeowners agreed to live in the houses for a specified period of time. This effort is often credited with helping revitalize neighborhoods such as Otterbein and Ridgely’s Delight.

Now, City Councilwoman Mary Pat Clarke is asking why the city doesn’t — once again — try the program as a way to combat blight and vacant properties.
“So many people ask me, ‘What every happened to the “Dollar House” program?’ ” Clarke said. “It was a very successful program.”
Clarke has introduced a resolution — which is supported by the rest of the 15-member City Council — that encourages the city to back the program. The hearing will take place at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
“As Baltimore looks to solve the seemingly intractable problem of revitalizing neighborhoods beset by vacant homes, it would do well to look to solutions that have succeeded here in the past,” Clarke’s resolution states. “The City’s highly successful ‘Dollar House’ program from the 1980’s could serve as a useful model for true grassroots neighborhood revitalization in the modern era.”
Baltimore has thousands of vacant buildings, ranging anywhere from more than 16,000 to more than 46,000, depending on who's counting. Many of them are owned by city government.

Understand now why white people, 100 years ago, passed laws to restrict black people from owning property in their communities in the 88% white city? In 1917, white people knew the consequences of what the racial degradation of their community would mean for their posterity.

In 2017 Baltimore, a 70% black city, we see those horrifying visions of a future where whites become a minority and blacks political control the city come to fruition.

The consequences? The $1 house program, where houses built long ago by white people to shelter their descendants have fallen into disrepair once they fell into the hands of the blacks.

In 35% Black Charlotte, almost all homicides in 2017 have a Black Suspect

Charlotte, North Carolina.

A 45 percent white, 35 percent black city (the rest of the racial breakdown largely Mexican illegal immigrants helping build new homes and commercial real estate for white people escaping black crime).

In 2017, racial harmony in Charlotte is as rare as finding Ric Flair when it's time to settle up the bill after a heavy night of drinking.

But just as Flair used to brag he spent more on spilt liquor than most people make in a year, the black population of Charlotte is uniquely to blame for spilling the blood of their fellow citizens in the Queen City. [Homicides in Charlotte keep climbing. ‘We have to do something.’, Charlotte Observer, October 20, 2017]:
Homicides in Charlotte this year are on track to hit a total not seen in nearly 25 years, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Kerr Putney believes officers alone can’t reverse the trend.
Putney said the city’s overall violent crime has stayed almost flat in 2017, but the rise in homicides – 73 lives lost so far – is concerning. The loss has fallen disproportionately on the black community: the city is one-third black, but four out of every five homicide victims is black.
Putney said groups across the city will have to cooperate to make a difference.“Sometimes I feel like the lone voice in the wilderness screaming, ‘We have to do something,’ ” he said.
Previous spikes in homicide have been attributed to crack cocaine, in the early 1990s, and at least partly to gangs, in the mid-2000s.
So far in 2017, CMPD hasn’t attributed a single homicide to gang activity, and a fraction have died through drug-related violence.
Experts say it’s hard to identify a specific reason for the increase.
At least 28 homicides this year have been tied to arguments or domestic violence.
Putney said too many people are grabbing guns to end disputes.
Also:
▪ Nearly 30 percent of all victims were black men in their 20s.▪ More than half of the homicide victims know the person who kills them. Seventeen of those cases are classified by CMPD as domestic, with about half involving romantic relationships and the rest including people who were closely connected in other ways.▪ Five victims this year are believed to have been killed by a son or son-in-law, police say.
Improving communication skills and increasing self-esteem for vulnerable young people are two ideas community activists and police leaders cite as ways to decrease the homicide rate – but neither will happen overnight.
That’s why one of CMPD’s priorities is helping people resolve arguments peacefully.
CMPD staff trained in mediation and conflict resolution sometimes respond to disputes while they’re happening, Putney said, and they also reach out to people charged with lower-level offenses like assault and communicating threats to try to prevent future arguments from escalating.
Eugene O’Donnell, a former New York City police officer who is now a professor in the John Jay College of Criminal Justice at the City University of New York, said the disproportionate way homicide affects poor communities and racial minority groups has contributed to a lack of political will to address the problem.
“Many parts of the country are not impacted,” he said, adding that people who can afford to “buy security” usually do so, whether that means an apartment building with a doorman or a gated community in the suburbs.
If the situation was reversed, O’Donnell said – if homicide victims were disproportionately wealthy and white – he expects outrage would be immediate.
“It’s a giant civil rights issue,” he said.
No, it's not a civil rights issue.

It's an issue of individual black people being collectively responsible for almost all the homicides in Charlotte, though they represent just over 1/3 of the population of the city.

None of the homicides have been gang related.

None of the homicides have been attributed to drugs.

Almost all of the homicides have a black suspect.

Just blacks...

In 2017 St. Louis - a 49% Black/43% White city - 99% of Homicide Suspects Black

Out of 318,000 people, St. Louis is 49.2 percent black 43.9 percent white (as of 2010 US Census).

Our good friends at the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department not only put out an annual report on crime broken down by race, but a weekly analysis of the yearly crime rate.

Also, conveniently, breaking out violent crime by the race of suspects.

99 percent of homicide suspects in 2017 St. Louis are black. The city is almost 44 percent white...
For 2017, 105 of 106 homicide suspects are black.

But we are told Black Lives Matter, right?

Life in 75% Black Birmingham: Black Murder Victim had been shot 10 times in previous year...

Remember Birmingham ?

Blacks in Birmingham, Alabama pushed white people out of the city until they took demographic control and where able to assume political ownership (democracy in a multiracial civilization is nothing more than a racial headcount).

The dire consequences of the racial change in Birmingham is documented in the 'reverse colonialism' post at SBPDL, delineating the shocking depreciating in real estate once the city went from majority white to nearly 75 percent black.
Latest murder victim in 75 percent black Birmingham, Alabama had been shot 10 times in previous year... at the murder scene, police officers had to tell black people to stop bringing their children to crime scenes....

And now, with white people slowly trickling back into the city, the black controlled city government is actually launching a task force to try and stop gentrification

Yes, really.

What if we could show you one story representing a micro-look at the "quality of life" blacks create - in the absence of whites - illustrating precisely why Jim Crow once protected the majority white inhabitants of Birmingham pre-1964?

Just one story, really.

A man fatally gunned down at a Birmingham gas station in broad daylight Tuesday was previously shot 10 times in a six-month period.
Authorities on Tuesday night identified the victim as 29-year-old Antione Collier, known to many by his nickname "Twin." Court records identify him as Antoine Collier.
A woman in her 50's, who police described as an innocent bystander, is fighting for her life at UAB Hospital after she was struck multiple times by the more than 40 bullets fired in store parking lot.
Collier died on the sidewalk of the Exxon service station at the corner of Graymont Avenue and Arkadelphia Road just before 1:30 p.m., and his mother told AL.com just six months ago that she braced herself every time the phone rang.
"I'm the mother who hates to answer the phone,'' Kimberly Flowers said in April. "You worry about your child."

Collier was released from prison just over one year ago and though he said he wanted to do better, trouble still followed him, his mother previously said. He remained a target for those who wanted to harm him and his mother turned to the Birmingham Police Department to help her help her son. BPD, through its Violence Reduction Initiative, tried to give him what he needed to turn his life around. They visited him in the hospital, and he even sent a text from the hospital to one official that read, in part, "I've cried till I can't anymore cause I'm blessed. I think when my health gets better, I wanna speak to young black males about violence."
The shooting happened at 1:26 p.m. Lt. Sean Edwards said Collier and his girlfriend were entering the store when two black males shot him. The shooters fled in an unknown vehicle.
"Brazen. Very reckless. It's a total disregard for life,'' said Birmingham police Sgt. Bryan Shelton. "We are looking for an individual or individuals who clearly have no regard for life at all."
"We have to really consider the thought process that violence is not the answer,'' Shelton said. "Resorting to violence doesn't solve anything. It only causes more heartache and pain. It's a difficult time for the families. It's something they'll never forget."
Collier was shot while standing in front of his vehicle, which was parked at Good Tyme Pizza, which adjoins the Exxon. His girlfriend reportedly was with him. She was shaken, but not injured.
The female victim, police said, had just ordered her food at the pizza restaurant. She was not affiliated with Collier.
She had just gotten something to eat,'' said Lt. Sean Edwards. Several rounds struck her. They're working on her right now, and hopefully she'll pull through."
"It's very critical for her right now,'' Edwards said.
Residents who live near the busy intersection said the gunfire sounded like fireworks at first, but they then realized it was the rapid fire of bullets. More than 100 onlookers gathered at the intersection and remained there for nearly three hours while investigators marked and collected evidence, and documented the scene.
At one point, a female police officer told anyone who had brought their children to a crime scene - and there were many - needed to take them home.
It's not too late to apologize to Bull Connor, a man whose actions to protect white civilization in Birmingham require only a cursory glance at life in currently 75% black Birmingham to not only justify them, but quickly rehabilitate his memory as one of the heroes of the 20th century.

Pittsburgh Is 64.8 Percent White And 26 Percent Black… Between 2010 - 2016, 87 Percent Of Known Homicide Suspects Were Nonwhite

Not much more to say. Pittsburgh Is 64.8 percent white and 26 percent black.

Between 2010 - 2016, 87 percent of known homicide suspects were nonwhite (84 percent black, 3 percent Hispanic or Asian).

This data was compiled by the Allegheny County Department of Human Services.
In a 65 percent white city, 87 percent of homicides between 2010 - 2016 had a nonwhite perpetrator (84 percent were black)

Blacks Launch 'Cain and Abel' Memorial Project in Columbus, Georgia to Stop Black on Black Homicide Epidemic

Lost in the hilarious madness of the decline of the National Football League (NFL), entirely because white fans are turning off a professional sport where black millionaires are taking a knee during our national anthem, is what's happening in Columbus, Georgia.

In this 43 percent white city (45 percent black), violent crime is entirely a black problem. Located roughly 60 miles from Atlanta, Columbus is a dystopia, where black crime has reached biblical proportions. ['Cain and Abel' project launch fights black-on-black crime, WSBTV.com, 9-24-17]:
As founder of the Columbus Black History Museum, Johnnie Warner noticed a disturbing trend in the black community.
"... Prior to the end of the Civil Rights Movement, there were so many lynchings and killings of the black males by the whites," he said. "And here we are now, we're still living in fear - but because of us."
First off, this isn't a proper Afrocentric view of the Holy Bible...
To address the issue, Warner launched a "Cain and Abel" memorial project in 2016 to denounce black-on-black crime in the community. He started by collecting the name of every local black person killed by someone of their race from January 2013 to December 2015. The list has 57 names.
But it doesn't include those killed among the 26 homicides of 2016, or the 26 homicides that the Columbus Police Department has already recorded for 2017.
Muscogee Coroner Buddy Bryan puts the number at 32, because he does not differentiate between a homicide that police consider a murder and one they categorize as manslaughter or a justifiable shooting.
Many of the victims included in those numbers are young black males allegedly killed by their peers.
Of the 26 homicides recorded by police so far in 2017, 21 were black males, three were black females, 1 one was a Hispanic male and one was a Caucasian female, according to Mayor Teresa Tomlinson.
"We have 25 murders via gun violence and one via automobile," the mayor said.
"We have 14 murders related to domestic violence, fighting, drugs, robbery or pending investigation and 12 related to gang activity."
Warner recently posted a message on Facebook in the wake of recent killings, asking people to add the names of others who have died since 2015. And he posed the question: "Am I my brother's killer?"
"The Cain and Abel Memorial is a list of Columbus, Georgia, and Phenix City black Americans murdered by black Americans since January 2013," he wrote.
"The vision is to one day (engrave) these names on a monument to inspire the next black generations to value black lives and communities. These saints are sacrificial lambs as a memorial of black-on-black homicides, crime, and terrorism. They did not die in vain. Their lives matter too! They were slaughtered by the hands of their brother."
Following that introduction, Warner listed the names of all 57 victims, starting with Charles Foster, who was shot to death at the now-defunct Club Majestic in 2013 on New Year's Day; ending with Christopher Twitty, who was killed Nov. 21, 2015. In an interview with the Ledger-Enquirer, Warner said he got the names from the Columbus Police Department.
After posting on Facebook, Warner received comments from relatives of people killed as a result of black-on-black over the past few years. One woman, Vicki Scott, said she was related to number 13 and 55 on the list - David Scott and Dominic L. Mitchell, respectively.
Referring to Mitchell, she wrote: "... Glad to see his life was not in vain Johnnie Warner. Keep up the good work. Maybe someday our brothers will understand that it is nonsense taking people's lives. It destroys families. How can we fight about other races killing blacks when (we) are the main cooperate (culprits) of the genocide of the black race. Wake up and let's stop the killing of our RACE."
Actually, there weren't that many lynchings prior to the Civil Rights movement, but if you want to run with this myth, go ahead. Won't change the fact black people in Columbus (as well as in Savannah, Atlanta, Augusta, and Macon, Georgia) can't stop killing other blacks.

But it gets better... [Monday ceremony offered thoughtful, moving words about senseless violence, Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, 9-18-17]:
There was an unusual funeral motorcade in Columbus Monday morning. There were multiple hearses, but no caskets. The processional ended not at a cemetery or chapel, but at the Columbus Civic Center.
This wasn’t a ceremony mourning the death of one person, but many. Too many, too often, and too young.
As reported by staff writer Alva James-Johnson, members of the predominantly African-American Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance and five local funeral homes organized the event to protest and mourn the rash of black-on-black violent crime that has shattered so many lives and families in Columbus.
The makeup of the group was grimly appropriate. Funeral directors and ministers have had to see too many torn bodies of victims, too much wrenching grief of loved ones, in the horrible aftermath of more of these senseless killings than anybody should have to deal with.
Many of these murders are committed against — or by — children: “Age-wise, they’re getting younger and younger,” said Taylor Funeral Home owner Evone Taylor. “It’s males, poor, under-educated families that his is happening to.”
The IMA’s president, the Rev. Ralph Huling, attributed the violence to “vigilante activities” that lead to “anarchy,” and indeed, the stories that emerge after these youth killings are frequently the bleakly familiar pattern of one murder that leads to the next, that leads to the next, that will all too likely lead to another. Huling said the group gathered to urge the community “back to civility, back to the point where we used to love and care about one another and realize that we are our brothers’ keepers.”
What went uncommented on, but almost certainly not unconsidered, is the reality of how much collateral damage — often measurable in still more human lives — such violence can inflict. Not every victim of a violent crime is an intended target, which makes the outcome not one bit less tragic.
To the Rev. Johnny H. Flakes III of Fourth Street Baptist Church, neither the problem of violent crime nor the solution can be just matter of demographic or economic circumstances.
“We have to get the heart transformed,” Flakes said at Monday’s news conference. “We have to get the mind transformed … it’s not just a material poverty problem; there is a morality and a spiritual deficit that’s going on within our community.”Huling said the rash of homicides in the black community “is our problem … it’s going to be us that have to come up with a solution.”
It was IMA member Edward Dubose, who served multiple terms as Columbus Chapter president and later Georgia State Conference president of the NAACP, who perhaps put the tragedy in the most personal and poignant context: “I envision my children burying me,” DuBose, said, “not me burying my children.”
By all means black employees of the NFL, keep taking a knee. You're only helping turn white people off permanently from watching professional football.

Meanwhile, in Columbus, Georgia, the real plague (not those other 10) of ancient Egypt is currently killing the city's economic viability, property value, and future: a Nubian nightmare no one, not even the black citizens of Columbus, is worried about stopping.

Tho' much is taken, much abides...

Silence.

For too long.

"Where did you go?" inquisitorial emails asked one after another.

It doesn't matter where we've been, only where we are going.

SBPDL is back.
#BecauseWeLiveHere

"Because We Live Here" is on the verge of its genesis.

Thank you to every person who emailed wondering what happened, where SBPDL went, and what was going to happen next.

The answer to all will come in due time, but for now, know a new site is being built (#BecauseWeLiveHere) with a far, far bigger purpose.

But know this: SBPDL is back.

Because of all of you who emailed and said, "come back."

So thank you for being patient.

Thank you for being a reader of SBPDL.

We're back, because of you.
