"Captain America and Whiteness :The Dilemma of The Superhero" Available Now

It took longer then expected to get the book ready, but Captain America and Whiteness is available.
Available now in book form at Amazon
Just in time for the release of half-Black/half-Hispanic Spider-Man too!

Pick up a copy over at Amazon.com (for Kindle as well) or make a donation to me via Paypal for $50 or more and I'll send you a signed copy. $75 or more gets you all three books signed.

Most of the book is original essays (though a small portion of one was published at Vdare.com the day Captain America came out). Basically the thesis is comic book movies and graphic novels are one of the last cultural outposts where whiteness is synonymous with heroism. The bulk of the most popular characters (Captain America, Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Wolverine, Iron Man, Thor, Spider-Man, etc.) are all united in their whiteness, creations from a time when mantras like 'treason to whiteness is treason to humanity' would have had you thrown in jail. They were created in a time period when America was unapologetically white.

Hollywood in Blackface showed that an all out effort is being made to dismantle the concept of the white hero in movies replaced with a 100 percent effort to manufacture positive examples of Black people that reality can't replicate; comic book movies counter-act those attempts, to the chagrin of many.

National Public Radio (NPR) published an article bemoaning that comic book movies offer the few roles for white actors to star as the hero, with the author hoping for a future movie where Superman is played by - who else? - Will Smith:

The big budget disappointment Green Lantern was about a superhero whose powers were only limited by his imagination. But I kind of get the feeling that Hollywood's earning powers are being limited by its lack of imagination.

Consider the box office potential if movie producers had been as bold as Marvel's Ultimate Comics Spider-Man series when it introduced Miles Morales — a part black, part Hispanic teen — as the new Spider-man.

It wouldn't have been much of a stretch for producers to reimagine Green Lantern as a person of color. In the comic book world, there's already a black Green Lantern named John Stewart who's probably got more name recognition going for him than his white counterpart, Hal Jordan.

So if Hollywood can crank out fantasy pictures with blue Smurfs, why is it so reticent to do the same with African-Americans, Hispanics and Asians? If second stringers like Thor can get the big-screen treatment, don't comic book legends of color like Luke Cage and Black Panther deserve the same?

Every hero needs a villain, and I can tell you from experience that supposedly "liberal" Hollywood loves to make the audience the bad guy. There's a self-fulfilling delusion at work in the studio system that white audiences won't pay to see black actors cast outside a narrow type of role.
The Christian Science Monitor had the audacity to call superheroes and superhero films white male fantasy films; when you read Hollywood in Blackface, as Brett Stevens pointed out in an excellent review, you get to see how Hollywood creates positive fantasy of Black Fictional Images. I've come to the conclusion that the United States of America was once a white male fantasy come true, only to be replaced by Black-Run America (BRA) where the toleration of the debasement of white guys continues unabated because of the - legitimate - fear of loss of status (both societal and in job prospects) that accompany being publicly counted among Those Who Can See.

This will change. This is changing. I wouldn't change a thing that has happened in my life; the good or the bad. Regardless of what happened to me professional, life goes on. It always does. It always will.

When I started this blog, it was only as a joke. It's grown, because people like you reading SBPDL find value in it and that motivates me to work harder, regardless of the consequences. Finishing Captain America and Whiteness motivated me to do something... different.
The cast for 2012 The Avenger's: Notice the overwhelmingly whiteness

Because attempts are being made to change the racial complexion of the white superheroes (Captain America was a Black guy first in Marvel continuity and Spider-Man is now a half-Hispanic/half-Black hero) to a BRA palatable ebony hue, perhaps it's time to invent a new hero.

I've been working on again and off again on a story tentatively titled The Next Man in Hell. I've decided to go in a much different direction with the story. Imagine if a young white person with millionaire parents saw them brutally murdered before his eyes by a Black person (considering that 89 percent of the murders in New York City between 2003 and 2009 were committed by a Black or Hispanic, this is probably going to be the case); imagine if that young white person decided to dedicate his life to fighting crime and taking vengeance into his own hands by making a vow at his parents grave to always fight evil.

Now, twenty years later this white person - fully trained and ready to exact justice - takes to the streets and begins fighting gangs, 90 percent of these gang members or more being non-white. What would the press say? How would the government react?

This young white person would only be trying to make the streets safe, without performing these acts for "racist" reasons. Only because of that vow to avenge his parents.

Who would the real villain be?

There are no colorful rogue galleries in this story, only low-level thugs, drug dealers, pimps, murderers, pedophiles, gang-bangers, and thieves. Just like in our world, the bulk of those committing the crimes are non-white.

Having a white guy fighting back against the hordes of Black and Brown criminals - even with the best of intentions to rid the world of murderers, rapists, and other scum to make it a better place - would automatically make this shadowy character the villain in the eyes of the Disingenuous White Liberal (DWL) establishment, police, academia, media, etc. Not a hero; a villain. A fascist, a racist. No matter how safe the city became, the "hero" would still only target criminal racial minorities who made the city unsafe to begin with.

This is the story that will debut on November 11, 2011: "When being a hero is outlawed, a villain will have to do." The Next Man in Hell.

Anyways, Captain America and Whiteness is a book that I needed to write. It might not be for everyone who reads SBPDL, but it is incredibly timely. Plus, you'll get to learn about Marvel's attempt to create an African fantastical nation called Wakanda, where the most advanced technological civilization on earth is courtesy of Black people. You'll also get to read an essay on why Frank Castle/ The Punisher represents the true Captain America for the 21st century (relax, I mean in the context of a comic book superhero); an essay on why The Dark Returns, Watchmen, and Marvel's Civil War (three of the most important and influential stories in comics history) all extol the virtues of fighting back against tyrannical government; and much more.

So that is Captain America and Whiteness. Pick up a copy at Amazon. You won't be sorry. If anyone in the media reading this or a person running a Web site would like a review copy, send me an e-mail with your address and I'll get you a review copy. I'll send out a press release tomorrow to a number of media, including newsone.com, racialicious.com, and theroot.com.

Yesterday in a Barnes & Noble, I ordered both "Hollywood In Blackface" and "Captain America and Whiteness." I'm pretty sure the B&N employee thought the books were BRA-approved titles.

COMPLETELY OFF TOPIC:

This website seems to have built up a fair number of regular readers, and an easy way for them to support the site and its owner in a way that doesn't cost a cent is to use the Amazon link at the top left (labeled "Amazon.com Shoppers...") when ordering from Amazon. (And remember that Amazon.com now sells all sorts of things besides books.)

I bought a couple of books from Amazon recently, and did it via this site, earning the site a (presumably VERY small) percentage of my admittedly small purchase. I know my purchase didn't mean a lot, but it did make me feel good to think that I was driving another tiny nail into the falsehood that the diversicrats try to impose on us all, and the idea that the readers of the site, in hundreds and eventually thousands, might support the site in this way warms my heart. I have no financial connection to the site, and indeed don't necessarily agree with all the postings, and certainly not with all the comments, but I do think it important that those who find it valuable try to contribute a bit to keep it going, especially given the way the site's owner has already evidently suffered career-wise from his creation of the site.

Shopping at Amazon via the site is an easy and cost-free way to help out and show support.

Talk about denial of reality. Been about 20 years since I read comics but wasn't Thor in Marvel's top team "The Avengers"? And according to Wiki, his solo comic is up to issue #622!!! 622 issues!!!!

Luke Cage on the other hand was a Blaxploitation joke in the '70s and I vaguely remember Black Panther as being an affirmative action version of Daredevil who did guest appearances in other heroes' comics.

I agree with almost everything on this site! However, Paul seems to forget that white people commit crimes too- just on higher levels. Most whites who commit crimes don't get caught and the ones that do get caught don't spend much time in jail. But I will admit that most of the crimes committed by whites are non-violent crimes.

Maybe this writer should petition Tyler Perry, Oprah, and Spike Lee to get behind a black super hero movie, instead of demanding that whites put their efforts and cash into a project to his liking.

Why is "We can do it ourselves" so rarely the answer?*

*Relatively speaking Desi/Anon. For every example you can give, we can give dozens. And no, its not the money - the money is there. The problem is the attitude of dependence (as well as the tendency of whites to fold)

Speaking of folding, I hope everyone here is boycotting Hallmark as well as McDonald's. They give in about a year ago to a ridiculous NAACP boycott.

Tyler perry can do the acting, Spike Lee the directing and Oprah provides the finance.

Off topic . . .

Where do deprived black teens get the cell phones they use to organize flash mobs via texting?

Some buy them. Some steal them.

Some get them from the federal government.

FREE CELL PHONES ARE NOW A CIVIL RIGHT

We read . . .

Recently, a federal government program called the Universal Service Fund came to the Keystone State and some residents are thrilled because it means they can enjoy 250 minutes a month and a handset for free,

Interesting.

In Rwanda, the local radio stations extolled one "tribe" of negroids to attack another. The permission had been spread by word of mouth, it only required the plane crash that killed the President of Rwanda to signal that it was ON. The radio stations directed the violence and helped steer the killing, but the framework had been laid down long before, the machetes sharpened, ready to go.

In the USA, the framework for negroid violence has been laid down by the black churches like Rev. Wrights "church", by organizations like Nation of Islam and NAACP etc and local negroids who have expelled White Police officers and put negroid "brothars" in positions of influence that can inflict maximum damage and serve as intelligence operatives (See the book: ZEBRA by Howard for a look at how the Nation of Islam infiltrated the San Francisco PD and attempted to coordinate a nearly successful assassination attempt on a member who was "snitching".) Notice that the police have been curiously reluctant to respond, identify and arrest "Rioters". I believe that in future riots here in the USA this pattern of "not engaging" will continue.

Texting and Twitter have replaced radios as they are a more secure form of communication.** Communications were critical for both sides in the 1992 riots as the Korean shopkeepers could direct fire and rescue those need.

For the negroids, cell phones allowed armed response (abet fragmented and relatively ineffective) to those who shot back and helped coordinate attacks like the raiding of sporting goods stores (ammo) and gun stores (weapons and ammo). Notice that the Gov did not enter into the conflict till the fourth day.

While a concealed carry pistol is good for a short term "riot" directed against Whites, in a future huge riot or any long duration situation with packs of groids, three items stand out. A medium caliber rifle (.223, 7.62x39, 308) with a dependable low power scope THAT IS SIGHTED IN. A rugged two way radio. Night Vision.

Good Luck!

**Does anyone doubt that the twitter and text messages of the rioters in all these cities like Philadelphia, Denver, Chicago, the Wisconsin State Fair, etc, mention Whites? Why is this never mentioned as evidence for "Hate Crimes"?

In Marvel continuity, the Black Captain America isn't the first, only the Black superheroes think so. Steve Rogers met with the Black Captain America's great grandson Patriot, and Patriot had a negro moment in which he said that the first Cap was Black, and then Steve said to a companion that he had with him that he would just let him think that so he wouldn't hurt his feelings. Wolverine served in WWII with Steve Rodgers and Bucky and he didn't know that there was a Black Captain America at all.

"Luke Cage on the other hand was a Blaxploitation joke in the '70s and I vaguely remember Black Panther as being an affirmative action version of Daredevil who did guest appearances in other heroes' comics."

Luke Cage was the leader of the Avengers for 6 or 7 years after Steve Rogers died. He's still the leader of one Avengers team and the new Thunderbolts team. They thought that he was going to make it in the big leagues, so they gave him a mini series and it didn't sell shit. He's even more of a stereotype now because he's said nigger, talks like a Black thug and he has a kid with a ugly, whorish White woman whom he married. They did a story in which his wife was able to live the life she wanted and she chose to be with Steve Rogers over him. Of course, Black male readers can't see how Luke Cage is just an updated Black male stereotype.

Marvel has tried like hell to push Black Panther, but no one is buying it. They even married him with Storm from the X-Men. They retconned their pasts with them showing that Storm was in love with him for years and he even took her virginity. I heard they wanted to do this in the 70's but they said that Black Panther was a low level character so they refused. Please, before any of this, I've never seen those two in a comic together. They ruined Storm to bring in more nonexistent Black readers.

It's pretty obvious that Marvel practices Affirmative Action for it's characters.

Black people want black superheroes and white criminals. Complete BS.

A little off topic but,

Marvel made their own version of Superman, called Hyperion, for a series called Supreme Power. It's in the Marval Max line so it's very violent and very good.

Hyperion comes to Earth as a baby just like Superman but is raised by the government instead of a farm family. The government tries to use his DNA to create a biological weapon. They splice it with death row inmates, which results in the deaths of all of the test subjects except for one man.

He gains 90% of Hyperion's strength and invulnerability, and even has eye beams. His only weaknesses are that he can't fly and requires air to breath.

....and he's a vicious serial killer.

He's just about my favorite super villain of all time and I wish DC would swallow their pride and copy the story for a superman movie.

Blade was a successful movie trilogy based on the black comic book anti-hero.

It's one thing to make a movie based on a black character, it's another to rewrite history or mythology just to impose racial diversity. Such as with the new Conan.

Why do Whites have to write blacks their own mythos? We have to alter our own just to appease them because of their lack of creativity? Beyond absurd. It's like the black bully making the smart White kid write his paper for him.

Great story, the character Hyperion is sooooooo perfect! You should volunteer as a comic book writer, you're excellent and to the point! I know for a fact that it couldn't be sold on the MSM market. Dat Komik bookz dat be raceyssss!

I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with the works of Robert E. Howard (creator of Conan - as in 'Conan the Barbarian' - back in the 1930s).

There is controversy surrounding Jason Mamoa being cast as Conan...since Conan is a (fictional) Cimmerian (not the actual Cimmerians who were Indo-European nomads), which , according to the actual author, pre-Celtic (the fantasy version of the origin of the Celts, esp. the Irish Celts (Gaels).

Jason Mamoa is Hawaiian. the complaint is that he is looks nothing like Conan is supposed to be.

Discussions/debates are raging across the 'net. The comparison has been invoked: if it's ok to cast Conan as a Hawaiian, can we cast the Black Panther as a white Russian?

Political correctness only goes one way...

Not holding my breath for the new Conan remake.

Be interesting to see if these are subpoenaed and then used in court. Or will this be conveniently swept under the rug?

To Apollyon:

It is interesting to find you here obscuring the true and verifiable history of Celtic Christian people. The Welsh still call themselves the "Cimmerians" to this very day. The Scots also trace there history to them in written form as far back as the 1200's.

What is most interesting is to see you here posting under the name "Apollyon".

Are you confusing the Cimri with the Cimmerians?

While the Welsh and Scots may make this claim, it is unlikely that the Cimmerians are the ancestors of the Celts. Early Celts were already in Europe at the time of the Cimmerians.

pre-modern historians may have believed this. Given that the Scots and Picts intermarried hundreds of years earlier, it is interesting that this legend developed.

Scots was derived from the Irish (Irish sea raiders called Scotti by the Romans).

Christian Celts are long after the disappearance of the Cimmerians (1,000 years).

I think if anyone is obscuring my ancestry, it is you.

Given I am Canadian, it is interesting to see you posting under the name Old Dominion.
